  3. I am attempting to make 150 DIY invites. I fell in love with these designs. Imagine the two toned shades of blue with a quote wrapping around in the belly band. http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c1...yn_asbel_4.jpg A floral print (thanks to KellyMN) with this exact shade of green velum http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c1...mbellyband.jpg somewhat similar fonts http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c1...fontlayout.jpg They will be pocket folds, which I am making as well. (insert sh** hitting fan then face smiley) http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c1...c62f64cd81.jpg (KarlaV's invites) To be continued... I will post the final result soon, I hope! Wish me luck!

  5. Mel, you are too funny and I completely agree with you! My cousin lost her kid at CEC, actually the three year old walked out on his own, went a few blocks and knocked on someone's door. Luckily that person called the cops!

  10. OMG, Lauren!!! You've been holding out on us for a while! I had no idea you were planning all these goodies!!! I love the shirt! WOW!
  11. Jamy, I've had this pic ripped out from a mag since 2006, before we decided on a DW. It was my "inspiration" for my colors, I was ready to go the Home Depot, buy a ton of wood and weather (Sp?) the wood myself! What are your colors Alyssa, I can't remeber if you posted them.
  12. I agree, the chairs are so nice. So here's a thought. Is the wood on the tables in good condition? If so, would you consider (and would they allow you) to use a table runner? That might look very nice and save you a ton of money. You could probrably find some really nice runners at Peir One (I love that store).
  13. Alyssa, I'm frequent this knottie page ofthen Bio she had her wedding in Maui and ordered linens from www.bbjlinen.com She posted these other links on her website too. Hopefully you can find one that will deliver the linens to your location. I don't think its a great idea to rent them at home and personally carrying them with you to HI. linen options bbj linens les saison designs by hemingway chair covers & linens cloth connection bright settings linen effects fashion fabrics club covered affairs maui custom linen service dove linen linen n stuff us linens
  14. Have you ever hear of a Gocco machine? It's works the same way as a silkscreen. The ladies at the Weddingbee are all over it and have tons a DIY samples. And even Paper Source is carrying supplies. Its pricey but if you have your heart set on making your own invites w/ white ink, I think it may be the only way to go. Good luck! 15. We have our flights booked and have reserved our rooms, but wow, we are going to be moving around quite a lot during our stay in Mexico! We arrive in Puerto Vallarta on Tuesday, July 1st and head directly to the Sol Melia. http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c1...rtin/melia.jpg Its an AI that is next door to the Mayan Palace. We had a VERY difficult time deciding where to stay since, essentially, we would be determining where our guests would stay. We tried to involve our guests in our decision making but adding a poll to our websites, even passing out hotel pamphlets at family gatherings. It turned out that most people chose Dreams PV however after seeing the rates, they decided instead that Melia would be more affordable (however not as nice, I'm not to crazy about the rooms, lets hope they'll be nice enough and upgrade us to their M-Floor rooms!) standard garden room @ Melia http://www.meliapuertovallarta.trave...modations2.jpg M Experience Room @ Melia (sorry, tried to include image but we are only limited 4 per post!) http://www.meliapuertovallarta.trave...modations4.jpg I'm sure we'll have a great time, so far we have about 60 guests booked at Melia and others who are staying elsewhere. Supposedly Melia has the largest pool in PV, so they'll be a ton of room for the M-S clan! Pool @ Melia http://www.solmelia.com/solNew/img/h...allery_004.jpg Any how, Hans and I will not be staying together prior to the wedding so on our wedding day, I plan to have the GM move our things to our honeymoon suite a the Mayan Palace (Hans doesn't know this yet). We'll stay there one night then move to the Grand Velas Vallarta in Nuevo Vallarta for 5 nights! So excited! http://media.expedia.com/hotels/1000...96714_15_b.jpg THEN we fly to Guadalajara and drive about an hour to the city of Tepatitlan to join most of my family for a few days to continued the party! I haven't been there in years. The town has grown so much and so has the nightlife, lol! London Club in Tepa http://tepaenlinea1.tripod.com/0707/...s/image000.jpg We finally fly home on Sunday night! Wow, thank goodness I'm taking Monday off!
  16. Congrats Mel! Your own office, how exciting! That's all I want is my own office, lol!
  17. Rachel, if I knew someone with a barn, I would've had my wedding there, lol. But I love in Southern Cali, there are no barns around here and if there were any, they'd be insanly expensive to rent out.
  18. So I've been waiting to get a new camera so that I can begin blogging, however, I've delayed long enough and I still don't have a camera. So bear with me ladies. My intent is to use this blog to post my plans, DIY, concerns for the wedding however, the pics will have to wait Let me start from the beginning. Why PV? Well, Hans and I began discussing our plans for a wedding Summer 2006. We discussed either having a huge wedding or investing in a house/townhouse. Obviously, we decided on the wedding. We both have HUGE families and knew that if we had a wedding here in L.A. it would be about 300 ppl and there was no way we could afford something nice. Coming from a tight family there was no way to keep it small and not invite ppl, so we started looking into PV. My mom's hometown is about a 4 hour drive and most of my family takes a trip to Mexico each summer so we knew they would be all for PV. (However deep down I wish we would've considered Puerto Rico, where FFIL is from. we nixed the idea since I thought it would be too pricey to fly and plan. However knowing how much its really going to cost us, I now wish we would've looked into it a little better.) So my intent for a DW was not to have an intimate, beach wedding. It is to have a big wedding and get our monies worth, haha! If you ask me what my "dream wedding" would be - I would've answered in an old barn w/ an elegant twist. Here's a link to what I envisioned http://community.theknot.com/cs/ks/u...oon2bmrs.stone However, I am still very much excited for the wedding we are currently planning and know that it will be better than I could ever imagine!
  19. You mean they don't let you taste all your choices?? LOL! Yes please take pictures and let me know which you prefer!!!
  20. Haha! It seems I lost my powers these past few days. I've been trying to figure it out on my own but obviously couldn't figure it out!
  21. Thanks Maura, I do use the IP locator often but I honestly think its rude when people don't identify themselves. When I view someone else's website, I log on as "amyh (BDW)" so that they are aware. But when someone logs on as "asfs" it really pisses me off. Sorry. I tried finding the link but didn't see one and photobucket is down so I'll try uploading the pick later.
  22. Thanks ladies, (glenda, you are not worthless!) I'm sure someone will know!
