  1. We stayed at the GVV for our honeymoon and I loved it. It was very quiet, not a party resort but the service was amazing! I felt so spoiled there. The spa was a amazing too. Almost two years later and I still dream about it. The resort is very clean so I am not sure why someone would get sick or complain about the food. You have five-star meals. People tend to exaggerate and forget that when they go to an AI they tend to over-indulge in the all-you-can-eat food and alcohol. I wrote a review which you can find in my sig. If the link doesn't work, pm me and I'll try to find the post.

We just did a plate of chicken nuggets for him, I know it was cheaper, but I can't remember how much cheaper. This is what we did for our wedding. We had 175 guests attend our wedding (about 35 were kids under 12). We had a kids menu which was about 1/2 the cost of the regular menu. I made activity kits for them so they would stay entertained during dinner. My WC suggested we contain the kids in the cocktail area where they could hang out, but most of the kids are rowdy and I opted for them to stay close to their parents where they could be supervised.
  3. Did you try running a search for "spanish songs"? I know there are a few threads. http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...=spanish+songs http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...=spanish+songs http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...=spanish+songs http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...=spanish+songs
  4. You can work with your WC and see if they can designate a kids table and maybe get one of the certified babysitters coordinate activities for the kids.
  5. What if you works something out with the hotel. Do they offer a kids club? Can you provide activities for the kids during the wedding? I think you need to compromise too. A DW is hard for many guests and they are paying a lot of money to attend your wedding.
  6. Hi! Our group stayed at Melia. You can read my review for more info (link in siggy). The hotel is so-so, nothing special, but was affordable and my guests pretty much voted on it (I wanted Dreams PV). All in all you get what you pay for. Let me know if you have any questions!

  8. Hi Kisa! We used Prisar for our wedding and loved them. You can find a link to our pics in my siggy. Have you visited their website? There are a ton of pictures there too! I uploaded our video too if you need a better visual http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...ighlight=video

  10. Katie, please use the search feature. You've started a few threads that have already been discussed. Please do not start any new threads without having searched old ones. Also, it would be useful to take a look a link in the mods siggy (FAQ's for newbies). Thanks!
  11. Something to keep in mind also is that the streets in the Malecon are quite small and buses do not fit. We rented a bus for the wedding party (one way back from the ceremony to the reception) and it had to pick us up a few blocks away from the the Cathedral. We couldn't remember the name of the street and got lost- and it began POURING! Luckily a jeweler let us in his shop while my new hubby and GM got drenched looking for the bus. Anyhow, my point is that there are a ton of van cabs in PV and that is a great cheap option.

But the first night we had a better table, next to the dance floor, the second we were close to the back bar, but they don't open the window there and it was SO HOT! My suggestion, get a table towards the front of the club where the walls are open, or they have cute cabana type areas on the side. Here are videos I found on Youtube YouTube - Mandala puerto vallarta YouTube - Mandala en puerto Vallarta Marzo 21 de 2008
  14. I just received an email from our photographer, Rudy Arpia... He had our wedding PUBLISHED in Bodas USA! I don't have the magazine yet, but I am in disbelief! How exciting! WOW I really threw out a bunch a questions I put in a question to the hotel but they're a bit slow to respond Thanks so much! Rachel Sorry I missed this No one needed passes (including the photogs), they were just told where the wedding was. There is security, but they are there to keep uninvited guests out. We didn't have too many, because of the rain there weren't any random people walking around that day. However there was an elderly couple trying to crash, my mom asked who they were and they said they were the grandparents of the bride, haha! My mom told them they must be at the wrong wedding b/c her parents had passed! Anyhow, ask away!
  17. FYI, I merged an older thread that was started on this same topic. Make sure to read the old threads, they are full of info

I didn't think the drinks were expensive, however I am from Los Angeles, so a drink here ranges between $9-$15 each. We got table service and it was worth it, again, I am comparing it to clubs here where table service is usually about $300 (only about $100 at Mandala). 19. There are a few threads re: night life in PV, but just my suggestion, try Mandala Mandala. We went twice the week prior to our July wedding and had a great time. Its located in the Malecon and has open walls.
  20. I used this site to make my pocket folds. If you use the back of a butter knife to crease the folds, it makes it much easier but it is tedious work. http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...yh%27s+invites
  21. That sucks! We got married on the same day in PV and dealt with the same tropical storm so I can say that I really did feel your pain. I am shocked that your WC did not prepare and provide the correct tent! My WC pushed and pushed and thank god we finally gave in and listened. She also recommended that we do no rent lounge furniture b/c of the likelihood it would rain. I am so sorry, but I hope you can move on and focus on the positive, I bet you still had an amazing time! If you ever need to vent, pm me! I could use a venting partner (damn rain!). Also, where are the pics!!!!
  22. Rachel, are you referring to the wedding day? If so no. The Mayan does not require that you nor your guests stay at the resort for your wedding. Most of our guests stayed next door at Melia, we did as well.
