  1. I don’t think its tacky at all! Well I did that for my formal invites and a few STD’s. i.e. I have an uncle who has 12 grown kids, who ALL have families. Every Tuesday they get together at their house. So this past Tuesday, I showed up and passed out my invites! Today is my mom’s birthday, so those who show up will get theirs, and Saturday is my bridesmaid’s baby shower, so I’ll be giving more out then. So no, I don’t think its tacky, and if it is, I don’t really care, lol.
  2. Doesn't chocolate turn white after freezing (not completely white, but it gets discolored)?
  3. I have to say, Morgan. When I was looking for clip art I was looking desperately to find some that mimicked the “Barcelona†invite, but no luck. I even tried copying the invite and blowing it up but it was very blurry. Good luck!
  4. Thanks again! I love them too, lol. Anny, thank you so much for letting me bug you about my printer! I think mine doesn't like me very much, lol.
  5. not to that extent. my dad is really shy but comes off very intimidating. Its cute when I catch FI and my dad having a convo or watching the soccer game together. Hans is VERY talkative and really tries to get my dad to open up. I really love that about him.

At that point I didn't want to use my brain! But thank you so much for it. Also, I was afraid that my inkjet would print in a different color than my laser printer. I love fonts, so if you ever need one, let me know. I may have it! I was ready to pay $90 for a cezanne font which I love but someone posted carpenter a while back and decided that that would work.
  7. Wow! Thank you ladies! I can say I worked VERY hard on these. FI was fed up with it all, but in the end he even said that he didn't want to hand them out in fear that they'd end up in the trash. Its really a variation of invites I've seen on the forum. I fell in love with Anny's passports but knew I couldn't pull those off. KarlaV's invites were amazing too, but I didn't want to copy her design. I am so thankful that Kelley provided me with her template. I was looking everywhere for flowers like hers, but was ready to settle with another font/dingbat I found.
  8. I finally finished my invites! Like Galit mentioned in her invite thread, I feel as though I’ve been working for more than 6 months! They were hell to make but well worth it. I’m very excited at the end result! My BM’s got together on Friday night and helped me glue all the inserts and assemble the invites (and along with a few glasses of wine) we had a blast! My stamps came in on Saturday so Sunday I addressed, stamped, wrapped and finised all my invites! I was trying to save money wanted to make a pocket fold out of an 8 ½ by 11 sheet and also wanted it to fit in a No. 10 envelope since I’ve read that it costs more to mail certain shaped envelopes. http://faculty.salisbury.edu/~rmlachance/images/templates/4x9horz.gif Or see my template attached (I tweaked it a bit) Stamps.com ($$ even w/ a Costco discount) but nice touch, in my opinion! I ended up spending about $120 on stamps alone and these were mainly for response envelopes. I decided to hand out as many as possible to save costs on stamps! I made 2. The green stamp was for the main envelope, the brown for the small rsvp. A few hiccups: -My printer doesn’t grab 4 bar envelopes, so I had to tape each one on a full sheet of paper to print. -My printer doesn’t grab cardstock so I had to feed each blue sheet trough the feeder. -I ran out of envelopes so I decided to add a simple card with the guests names to a few invites that were going to be hand delivered or mailed in bulk to one addy (out of the U.S.) -I forgot that it can take weeks for mail to get back from out of the country so I decided to glue an insert on the back of the RSVP card requesting guests to respond online. (no pic sorry) -the card pockets were ungluing (roller adhesive) so we moved to tape. I later realized that you need glue both sides so that the glue can grasp, if not it slides off the metallic paper.
  9. Welcome to the forum!
  10. They are all done! Here they are (again sorry for the bad cell phone pic). Do they look anything like my inspiration pics? http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c1...myhinvite1.jpg My MOH's working hard! (2 are missing from the pic!) http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c1...invitewbms.jpg For more info, click here http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t17565
  11. Haha, those were from the response we received from our STD's which were sent last year. We have about 80 guests booked. We are hoping to get no more than 150 going. We'll find out soon, I just mailed my invites this morning! Honestly, it beats the 300 that we would've had if we stayed in L.A.!
  12. Yes, ours our a husband and wife team as well. We just had our engagment session last weekend. She may not be able to come, however their back up is also from L.A.
  13. thanks ladies! We may luck out an have 3 photogs since my photog is having some issues, so her back up is going another 2nd photog. She still wants to go and is planning on going, but she wanted to make sure that there will be 2 there. (long story, but may work to my benifit) I'd have to ask if this is possible. It doesn't have to be everyone. I think it would be fun!
  14. How exciting! Congrats!
  15. I just adore your FG dress!! It is so cute!!! Please post the back! Great job!
  16. What do you all think of this Idea? Taking a white out board/ chalk board and having guest write a maximum of 3 words and take a pic?? I think it seems like a fun alternative to guest book/photo booth-ish idea?
