My family is very involved in the planning and are very excited about every detail. His family has something negative to say because it is not at a hall, with 400 of our family members with tres leches cake that includes the fountain and the 50 godparents to pay for everything. You get where I'm going with this right?! Yeah, I get it. We have some of those types in my fam and FI fam. I told them that I think its tacky to have godparents for every detail to pay for our wedding. If we want a wedding we will pay for it ourselves. We ended up inviting everyone, knowing that not everyone would make it. LOL, this was one of the reasons we chose a DW! You know what, in the end, those you want (and who want) will be there and those who talked shit will stay home regretting they missed your day!

Since we don't have a room block and our reception is at a non-AI which doesn't require guests to stay there, we haven't really kept track of who has booked. I honestly think we will get anywhere between 125-150. But we'll have to wait until May to get the final count.

If we are related, then at least you have one realative on your FI's side who agrees w/ you! I grew up in Santa Monica but live in Culver City.
  5. Welcome! I'm having a Catholic ceremony in Puerto Vallarta. Let us know how we can help! FYI, if you are looking to have a Catholic ceremony on the beach, it will most likely not happen, it is not allowed by the Church. Believe me most of us have searched for this option. However as Anny pointed out, her ceremony was in Cancun at the Marriott which has a Catholic Gazebo! I believe one of the Palace resorts in Cancun/ RM area has the same. Good luck!

We have a huge guest list, so depending on the # of guest we may be able to add stuff we've been holding off on (or take away).
  7. We did some. They were included in our package. I'm glad we did. We got to know our photogs. We took pics in Hermosa Beach, her in CA. Hans and I met right before summer and we were always there.

I was thinking of something similar. My aunt, who sold Avon, gave me mom a half-used bottle of lotion for her birthday! Not only was it one of her samples (which she was notorious for giving away) but it was open and used!
  9. that's amazing Jilly! Good for you! I'm not taking this as seriously I as should. I really need to get my butt to the gym. I lost 4 lbs, but honestly, I my weight can fluctuate like that daily.
  10. Wow, Dreams Resorts are popping up everywhere! Dreams Punta Mita Resort & Spa Opening in late 2009 Dreams Resorts to Double in Size by 2010
  11. A little late for our group, but it looks amazing. I did notice that tub, fun
  12. Thanks for you *support* ladies, lol. I'm about to send a mass email to my fam. Hopefully they get the hint and remember to write their names!
  13. there goes those chubby cheeks of mine!
  14. I feel for you! My god mother keeps asking me if I am going to cover my shoulders during mass. How dare I get married wearing a strapless dress, in puerto vallarta, in July at 4 in the afternoon, with no air conditioning, WITHOUT wearing a shawl! p.s. I wonder if I am related to your FI, my last name is Martin and I have a huge traditional mexican family living in L.A. Sorry, just being nosey, lol.

Christine came to my HS for her senior year and we became good friends Muara, I love those silk pockets you purchased! You really need to post the finished product! I was thinking I could just make them, but what a lot of cutting/folding/gluing that entails! Thanks! I am very indecisive. Believe me, I worked on the design for months, no joke! I did make the pocket myself. Christine posted the link below, you can find all the instructions there and a template on the third page (or so) . 16. Mel congrats!!! What a great end to your bad day!
  17. I LOVE that cut! I really want to chop off my hair that short but I am so scared! Props to you! It looks great!
  18. I lost 4lbs! Yay! It could be that I wasn't wearing pants while I weighed myself?? I don't know. I did go to the market this weekend and FINALLY began my "eating good" diet. I only went to the gym on Sunday and lost 3 lbs?? Its probrably water weight, but still. It felt good to step on the scale and see it in the 130's!
  19. I tried this, but it wouldn't save any of my locations. If anyone has any success, please let me know!
  20. Congrats Heidi! You looked amazing on your day!!! Keep those pics coming and stop apologizing, you know we all love them!
  21. I was in a similar situation and we went with the one w/ more hours. However, I love my photog now! We hired her more than a year ago and you can see how much her work has developed. I really think we lucked out with our photog. Plus, I'd rather have the memories of the whole day and just a few frameable pics, than have way too many pics to frame (of the ceremony) and non of my reception. Just my thoughts.
