  3. The ONLY reason why I am doing assigned seating is because I want to use starfish as the seat markers at the reception table. Its a huge headache though. Our guest count jumped from 154 to about 175 this past week, and I keep having to re-arrange the tables. I've gone to weddings where they've had assigned seats and some where you can sit where you want. There are many ppl who are not very sociable and would rather steal a chair from another table and cram into one where they know ppl. Other's I've attended will reserve a few tables for their closest guest and that's it, the rest of the guest can figure out where they want to sit. I don't think you can go wrong either way.
  4. Hello. I need immediate feedback, haha! My cousin works for one of those companies that makes promo stuff and is giving us a choice for a free container! There isn't much of a selection so we decided on a clear case which I believe is a pencil case (they call it an "anything" box). Anyhow, I need to submit a logo to her asap. We've decided to make hang-over kits. We've been collected advil, motrin, sal de uva (similar to alka seltzer), band aids and I will make a cute coupon with the recipe for a michelada (beer w/clamato, lime, salt and chili) to take down to the bartender at our AI. Anyhow, I need help deciding on a logo, here the ones I just whipped together. Pinche Cruda = Damn Hangover TIA!

  6. Beautiful dress! I did a quick search and couldn't find it
  7. Have a great time Beth! Make sure to come back with a long review and tons of pics
  8. How fun! Did you get lots of good gifts?
  9. We are getting married at the Parroquia de Nuestra Senora de Guadalupe 1) How do you do the whole pre-cana thing if you're not living down there? As everyone mentioned, you do this at home with your priest and parish. Your priest will guide you from that point. He knows what needs to get done And yes, you do need to get legally married before the Catholic ceremony if you do not plan on having a legal ceremony in MX as the Church in Mx will need proof of legal marriage 2) Do you get a chance to meet with or at least talk to (like over the phone) the priest before the ceremony? No, the priests at this particular church are so hard to get a hold of, believe me we tried. Our WC actually advised us against getting married at this church since they are VERY strict and not to friendly, haha. 3) Do you have any say in terms of what is said at the ceremony (what readings are done, vows, etc.)? We can choose the readings, but I think it depends how lax the priest is. Just like here in the states, you may have a strict priest or not. 4) Are you obligated to do a full mass with communion or can I choose not to? I never asked, however I've read in a review (yahoo pv brides) that they choose not to have a full mass. When we first contacted the PDNSG, they told my FI that the mass would only be 1/2 hour (hence, not a full mass) however, once we hired our WC and she called to book, we no have a full 1-hr mass. So I'm sure you can just ask. 5) Has anyone used a bilingual priest that they really liked and would recommend? No, sorry.

One thing you should know about the churches here (in case you haven't already read a post about it), is that services are booked back to back to back and turn-around time is FAST. It's not like in the States when you get a church and it's yours for the day. Yes, its the same one The Virgen de Guadalupe and I've been warned by my WC about this church in particular, haha! But I think its a beautiful church and in the end, I'll have amazing pictures!
  14. Okay, I'm finding some info on the web, so I'll start a list for anyone interested. MySpace.com - Raul Simental - Puerto Vallarta, MX - Acoustic / Country / Pop - www.myspace.com/raulsimental

We are getting married in the Cathedral downtown and my coordinator was afraid we wouldn't be able to hear one very well.
  19. Thank you Edna! I'll try searching for her info. It has to be around here! I've always imagined this for my wedding. I know I'm being hard headed, but if that's what the bride wants, that's what she gets, haha!
  20. Thank you so much for all the amazing comments! We ARE very much inlove. I am very lucky, my FH is amazing and super sweet, I know we make a lot of people sick, but he is such a sweatheart! Yes, Art will be our mail photog for our wedding his assistant will be Rudy Arpia and Nataly will be the one editing out photos. It wasn't the original plan, we hired Nat to be our main photog, but something came up. But if Nat can make up, we'll end up with 3 photogs! 21. Thank you, thank you Edna! I spoke w/ Pris and I settled with a pianist, but its really not what I want. I just find it hard to believe that there are no guitarist in PV. I think she meant they are not loud enough for the Church, but I assume we can use a mic and speakers!

The cell phone pics are just not cutting it, haha! Yes. I think I'm just going to go and get one on my own w/out his approval!
  23. Welcome! I recognize some of your pics from the dazzling details! It's great to see you on board!
  24. Hi ladies, I've mentioned this in other threads, but it is cruch time! With less than 2 months left for my wedding, I am still searching for a Spanish guitarist for the ceremony. I've requested this from my WC, but she says she hasn't found one. Hmm, I've seen pictures with a lonely spanish guitarist sitting in the front row of many PV weddings. But most on other photog's/wc's blogs. Are there any PV brides here that can offer a bit of advice?? Thanks!!!
  25. Congrats LoriLou! I cannot wait to hear all about your wedding! I am so excited for you!
