She and her husband recieved there Marriage License here in L.A, then months later at there Ceremony in Mexico they just presented there License. She said she did not have to take the blood tests. So I'm planning on just doing the same. Getting my marriage license here then having the Church Ceremony in PV.
  2. Anny, These are so cute! I was thinking of just purchasing a ton of postcards from Puerto Vallarta when I go scouting and use them as my save the dates, but I think I love this idea more! What type of paper are you using?
  3. that's funny! Its like 85 in L.A.! Can you beleive that?? Then you go shopping and all you can find are wintercoats! I feel so silly wearing tank tops and flip flops in November!
  4. I met Hanssel (yes, thats his name!) at a friends Graduation Party in May2004. He is good friends with her then FI. The funny thing is that we actually were introduced prior about a year before when the same couple became engaged! However we don't remember meeting each other. Which was good because I had just ended a 5+ yr. realtionship and he had just ended a 2 yr. relationship. (I was on an "I hate guys" mode). But the second encounter was perfect and I was ready for him!
  5. They look so good! What color are you considering painting the frames?

I found out that they sell vellum at office depot and staples that is made for ink jet printers - the stuff from the craft store was expencive and make a mess when you tried to print on it. I payed $10.00 for 50 sheets at office depot. As far as the dirrection of the pictures the frames need to stay vertical since the candle light doesn't work very well when it is spead out horizontally. We are working on the pictures now and are trying to find an easy program to change the pictures from color to sepia tones. If anyone has any tips on that let me know. I will post pictures when I get some samples done. It is super cute that my FI is totally into this project! GOD I LOVE HIM! You can also try Picasa. Its free and easy to use. Here's the link to download the program. http://picasa.google.com/ Make sure to post some samples!
  7. From the photog's I've seen in the PV area, I think L&A has the best pics. Has anyone contacted them?

Also I want to try to print the pictures in sepia instead of black and white. I think colored velum would look nice, but i think you should leave the frame natural or white maybe. not sure. I would try it out first.
  9. Yay! another PV bride! Welcome! Please post! (p.s. can you tell I'm excited!)
  10. I was trying to pick some, but there are so many photos. So I will let you have the honor! Thanks!
  11. I was thinking of doing that as well. Having pics of us with fam and friends at their tables. I guess it all comes down to how many pics I can gather of the guests. I imagine you can make them horizontal as well. Maybe both ways, you can 3horizontal pics together and 3 veritcal. I may create a nice change. MS has two sized frames. I think changing it up and not making things look so uniform always looks better.
  12. Yes, I plan to place pics of us in them. I've started to sift through pictures of us have them scanned (pre-digital camera) or have downloaded them into one folder on the comp. I still have some time (200 so I haven't started anything else. Ikea always has great sales during the holiday, so if the frames go onsale (I know I'm cheap!) I'll probrably purchase them this year and look for bargins on the Velum paper. But they seem to be pretty easy to make.

    Hi

    Welcome! Congrats!
  14. I think we're all on the same page. I called out sick from work today so that I could cram for my exam which i have tonight and look what I am doing!
  15. I've been meaning to post this idea from Martha Stewart since I got on the forum. I've had this saved June/July when I saw it in her mag. I think its a great idea to have on each table. Its simple to make and Ikea sells these frames for a real great price. Plus you can stain or paint them any way you want. My colors are brown, lime green, and white. I want very rustic features in my decor so I plain to give the frames a light stain wash with a brown color. Photo Centerpiece If you're throwing a party for someone's anniversary or birthday, the guest of honor will shine with a set of photo frame lanterns. They consist of three hinged photo frames set around votive candles. The black-and-white photos are printed onto ecru-colored vellum paper, which is translucent enough for the images to be visible by candlelight. HOW-TO Disassemble 3 like-sized frames, setting aside their fronts and discarding their backings. Paint or stain wooden frames desired color; let dry. Upload or scan photographs into a computer. With editing software, make the images black and white, and resize them to fit your frames. Print them onto vellum paper with an ink-jet printer. Slip the images into the frames. Using cloth tape, hinge frames together to form a triangle. Stand frames around a candle in a protective glass holder. Frames form IKEA 3 for $1.99
  16. Welcome Erika! I'm a PV bride too. Hopefully we can share info here on the fourm. Well I love the Westin sets their receptions on the beach, i.e. the table set up inside of the cabanas. However I love where Dreams is situated. Its more private and you have the backdrop of the mountain/ jungle (not the right term but you know what I mean.) If you haven't already checked, these sites have pictures of both places http://studiopv.smugmug.com/Weddings http://www.thedazzlingdetails.com/wedding_gallery.php
  17. omg yay.. finally someone who's getting married in PV soon! please post as much as you can. I'm a PV bride too, who is in the early stages of planning. Good luck and congrats!

  22. Thanks Maria Elena. My family loves to party, and when we've traveled in the past we always book this type of activity. I think they would enjoy it and if i remember correctly they usually serve a (very) simple lunch on the cruise.
