  1. I'm a little late, but yes - I did get 1 layer, and I did feel like it matched my ivory dress perfectly. Funny, I was going to post pics, but they're on the site! But I have more pics if those don't show it well enough ... but I thought the ivory looked good, and my dress was ivory. Let me know if you have more questions!
  2. I responded to your email too, Kash ... but wanted to say again, I think you can recover ... 1 week won't kill ya! We'll cheer you on extra hard. We promise! But I understand your decision ... and we'll still be rooting for ya!
  3. well, i shoveled again this morning. not a bad workout! but it's sunny today, so i think it will all melt soon ... thank goodness. then it better not happen again ... it's officially April now! sheesh.
  4. first of all, what idiots get a dog and then give up that fast. or even get a dog when one member of the family doesn't like them. nut cases. anyway, sounds like this puppy will be going to a better home for him.
  5. Hi! First, you should post a Newbie thread so we can welcome you properly! Then I'd try doing a search - there are SO many hotels in PV ... we stayed at Dreams, but there are so many more.

I blame that little Sven guy on Channel 11! I hear ya! I flew in this morning, from Chicago, and was lucky I got in ... it's supposed to be like 60 there today I think. It'll be our turn soon ... I hope!
  7. ugh - I just got done shoveling. If that's not a sight! man, it's that slushy, mushy heavy stuff. my hands and arms are SORE!

  9. if he doesn't get the hint with all of that - then just smack him upside the head! lol let us know his reaction!!!
  10. Yep, it's April tomorrow ... yet this is what's outside my windows! We had relatively no snow Oct - Feb ... why now?! I'm so ready for spring! You can't really tell, but it's coming down!
  11. FYI - this post is over a year old! But I do agree ... they were fabulous pics! lol
  12. whenever i see a guy (well, it's usually a guy) driving around in a Hummer, especially in the burbs or something, i want to ask him if he has a small penis! i mean, really, WHY?

I am more likely to be able to tell you the price of a glass of wine, or pint of beer. eek - not sure that says good things about me! lol

I know, I feel a tad stupid ... but I'm also not a very observant person in general. Like I have no idea what a gallon of milk costs, or a loaf of bread, for example.

I mean, I'm not going to stop driving, and to drive I need gas ... so off I go. People will ask me what prices are around us, and I honestly have no idea!
  17. Just wanted to wish you a happy, healthy, and magical wedding day tomorrow, Marla ... I remember when you first contacted me about Caletas - it doesn't seem that long ago! I hope I can say "I told you so" when you come back ... as in, I told you it would be everything you dreamed, and more! !!!HAPPY WEDDING DAY!!!
  18. See above for Vinegar question... I honestly have no idea ... What do you look for in a salad dressing? Taste, basically. That's what will make me buy or not buy a dressing again. I don't buy the low-fat stuff, because I usually don't like it as much. I'm also not one to pay attenton to cost or "name brand" stuff. How important is packaging? I'd like to say it's not important, but if I were in the mood to try something new, I might be more likely to choose a package that catches my eye. But once I like (or dont like) a product, it doesn't matter at all. How much do you usually pay for a gourmet type salad dressing? I am so bad at paying attention to stuff like this, I actually have no idea. If I really liked the dressing, cost wouldn't matter (assuming it's not crazy or something!). anything else you can think of? I think the hard part would be to get people to try your dressing ... so marketing is key it seems. Maybe you could get into some restaurants or delis? I know many people are big into healthier food choices, so if it tastes good AND is healthy, all the better!
  19. Don't give up, Glenda! lol Maybe you were naughty, but just start over and take it one day at a time.

We will discuss it further after my 8 week apt., and hear the heart beat. that's the other thing ... not that I am a lush, but i almost always have a beer or glass of wine when i am out. as soon as i didn't, people would know! lol also, everyone knew we were going to try to get prego soon ... so it wouldn't have been a surprise to anyone!
  21. see - I just don't get that (waiting to tell)! of course it's a personal decision, but ask him this ... WHY does he want to wait? the answer is probably "in case something bad happens." well, wouldn't he want to talk about that with those same people? that's how i determined who to tell ... like any friend I see on a regular basis, and close family ... thse are the same people I'd want to talk to if i had had a miscarriage. i didn't tell work aquaintences and stuff, but i also wouldn't talk to them about a miscarriage. make any sense? lol that's how we aproached it anyway.

Hopefully we can do it when things are a little better. I am really sick and tired of gas prices, food prices and everything else prices going through the roof. I was pumping my $3.50/gal gas the other day remembering how just a few years ago it was around $1.50/gal. Nobody's salary is increasing at that kind of pace. As prices go up our salaries are not catching up. We are effectively losing money because of rampant inflation right now. I can't complain though. We are still on the 'at least two vacations a year' plan and life is good. Now is the time to buy ... that's how I look at it! I'd hate to have to deal with selling right now, but I'd totally be in the market to buy if we hadn't just bought in April. And didn't they point out recently that if you look at the cost of gas now vs. 10-20 years ago (or something) that it acually hadn't gone up as fast as the cost of living. Meaning, it's right in line or cheaper than what we were paying years ago if you take inflation into account - it's just that it went up so fast that it's a shock to everyone. I could be wrong on that, but I recall reading something like that a while ago.

What do you think? I think this is an awesome way to tell him!
  24. CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!! How exciting! It's very rare to have a false positive ... so you're probably prego!! I know how you feel - I wasn't going to see my hubby until the next day (we were both of out town), and it was so hard not to tell him over the phone, but I wanted to tell him in person. I called my sister, since I had to tell SOMEONE! And of course I told everyone here. I also called my doctor to make the first appointment - she wanted to see my at 6 weeks (they determined that by asking the first day of my last period). But we told everyone right away, we didn't subscribe to that "wait until the 2nd trimester" theory. The only reason you do that is in case something bad happens (like a miscarriage), then you have to tell people that. Well, a m/c isn't something to be ashamed of anymore, and it happens a lot - and I'd want to be able to talk to my friends and family about it if it did happen. So anyway, we pretty much told people as we saw them - I was telling people before I even saw the doctor for the first time. Our close friends and family we told them in special ways. I told Paul by asking him what he was doing next July 16h ... of course he said he didn't know. THen I showed him the pregnancy test and said "You're going to become a daddy!" You could run out and get a card, or just put the pregnancy test on his pillow or somewhere where he still see it. Or maybe buy a cute little onesie or bib that says "I love my daddy" or something that will give him the right idea.
  25. Honestly, it hasn't changed my day-to-day life at all, or my job, But the way it's affected me most is how it's affected my mom. She opened her business, a franchise, right about the time of our wedding, but it didn't survive. She's now trying to find a way to make money, and hopefully save her house.
