  1. I know! Spring really is pretty ugly in the beginning, dirty and wet. That's why I say I like Fall better ... so pretty! Thought then it means winter is coming ... blah!
  2. that is true, if it's diet controlled, you probably don't have the freedom to eat whatever and just adjust the insulin. it's both a curse and a blessing! i guess one way to look at it is it might force you to be a little healthier ... i know i could use that motivation!
  3. Kash - I am so excited you're going to stay in! I didn't delete you yet from my spreadsheet, in hopes that you'd reconsider. YAY!
  4. For what I remember, it's really none of the above! It's an open-air space, but it is connected to the bathrooms (just a toilet). It's basically an open louge-like area, and then the bathrooms (mens and womens) are in that same area. Is that right, ladies? I wasn't in that area much other than to walk up and use the ladies room. I think if he needed a shower, he'd have to arrange to use the spa, and just make sure you know not to go over there if you don't want to see him. I could be wrong though ... I think Jamy would probably know!
  5. there is lots of time left - anything can happen! some people just take longer for their bodies to start to realize the changes ... everyone is still in this!
  6. an idea ... amy, i could just record your weight tomorrow for both last week, and this week - and it will look like you had no change. but then next week you'll be caught up!

Good luck ladies!!! You don't have to be out! I just can't calculate the weekly changes w/o a starting point, ya know? or at least this next weeks would be off, since it would be for 2 weeks really. but the end result is what is important!
  8. not sure how i missed Kelly's post either - but i can relate to 100% of it ... well, as much as I can for not being a mom yet! but that's the kind of mom i envision myself being. i have already told paul, we're not buying any toys. i know we will get them, and fine, but we don't need to buy any! why does a child need an elaborate, noisy toy that only does 1 thing anyway?! not only does it likely hamper creativity, but the kid would be just as happy playing with a cardboard box, and would probably get a lot more out of it! (and i wouldn't get the headache!) ok, random brain dump over. but that was refreshing to read, kelly!
  9. WARNING: Random thought ahead ... I happened to notice Karma again today - my nice little green square that says I am on a "distinguished road." I'm curious, where does this road go, and when will I ever get there? I've been on it for a while now.
  10. Ok, remember to send me your weights tomorrow! Erin - did I miss yours from last week? I am also missing one from amyh andn tvt (Tara). If I don't get them, I don't know how to calculate the weekly loss so I guess I would just exclude those people from the weekly updates and just include them at the end.
  11. as for the name change and passport and travel - just make sure you book your travel under whatever name is on your passport. like, i just traveled under my maiden name even though it's been about a year since my wedding, and legal name cahnge. but because my passport still has my maiden name, that's the name i booked my travel under. you can book travel under any name you wish!
  12. yay - that's a big item you can check off of your list. and of course, i am extra excited to see the pics of LC!
  13. FYI - I merged your 2 threads. Check these out, they should help ... http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t13834 http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t14777 http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t8436

In the end, she wasn't so sure she actually had it ... but she did have to be careful for a while. I think (not 100% sure) that with GD they have you try to control it via diet and exercise first, before trying to put you on insulin or other meds. Hopefully yours can be controlled that way first. Since I just have a normal diet, I can't help too much there - but I can answer general diabetic questions. I do know that you need to watch your carbs, since that's what impacts your blood sugars. But some might tell you that you can't have sweets or something, and that isn't the case for me. A carb is a carb is a carb for me, whether it's from pasta, bread, an apple, or a Snickers bar ... I just take the appropriate amount of insulin and go about my snack! But that may not be the case for you.
  16. Oh no. Poo. I was thinking the other day how lucky everyone was that no one had been diagnosed with this yet. I don't have gestational, but Type I - which means I have it regardless of the pregnancy. So I don't know how they're treated differently, but I want to offer any advice I can! Please ask me any questions. All I can tell you is that it's managable. I'm not going to say it's easy or fun, but it's doable. Just like with any disease, illness, pregnancy, etc. it affects people differently, but I will be able to share my experiences with you! On the positive side, at least this is something that you can control (to the best of your ability) and there are a lot of ways to work with it. I've always said, if I had to be diagnosed with a chronic disease, this one isn't so bad! lol And I know it's a little different, since it's pregnancy- related for you, but just trying to put a positive spin on things. Please ask any questions you have - and I can TRY to help! I'm sure Sarah can help some too.
  17. my ring is somewhat similar (no baguettes though), and I got an eternity band w/princess cut diamonds. not sure this will help, but here ya are!
  18. YAY! I got tears in my eyes when I read this ... how sweet! Paul cried too when I told him ... isn't it great to see how happy they are too!? CONGRATULATIONS (again)!!
  19. I can't wait to hear how it went last night. Maybe they took the day off to celebrate?!
  20. Maybe he'll think twice about pulling pranks on you anymore!
  21. LEIGH! I get so excited when I see you show up around here. We'd never want to get rid of you ... we want you here more! How are things? Getting to spend any time at home with the boys?
  22. Welcome, Emma! Please be sure to read these, if you haven't already! http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t921
