Do I just forfeit? 1. Just let me know you'll be gone so you don't get disqualified, and then send me your weight when you get back. 2. That's what the other girls have done in the past - it's happened more than once! lol Quote: Originally Posted by Christine I really want to do this, I need some motivation to lose the baby weight. 2. You can send me a PM and the $$ anytime you're ready. For those of you that have done this before, or know my email/PayPal address - go ahead and just send me the $$ when you're ready (just please include your BDW screen name!)
  3. Since there are quite a few people interested in the 4th season of BDW Biggest Loser, I thought I'd start a thread for you all. Normally, I don't set the rules or come up with the entry fee, I let you all decide on that before things get started, so this is the thread to discuss all of the rules and the entry fee. The season 3 rules are below, and the entry fee was $15 ... does anything need to change? I just copy/pasted these from the last season's thread. It's up to you all to determine the rules. Let me know (via PM in case I miss it in this thread) if the rules need to change. It's probably best to update the rules here in this post so they're clear to everyone involved. And that way, if there's a season 5, we can just copy them to that thread. Last season, Kelly won $510 (CONGRATULATIONS, Kelly!) - now that's motivation! --------------------------------------- Anyone wanting to participate in BL3 can PM me (AnnR) and I will tell you where to send your entry fee. I need to reiterate NO CREDIT CARD PAYMENTS WILL BE ACCEPTED. Or if necessary, cash or personal check will be accepted. BDW Biggest Loser IV will start on Wednesday, September 24th - at which point you will send me your starting weight along with a photo of proof. Each subsequent Wednesday, you will send Ann your weight and photo before the end of the day. Not at 3 pm on Thursday for all you slackers Sign-ups will go through end of the day Tuesday, September 23rd. So please PM me that you are going to participate, and then post up here to let everyone know you're joining. - Entry fee $15 - Sign up and pay by Tuesday, September 23rd - Contest starts on Wednesday, September 24th - Contest last 8 weeks, ending on Wednesday, November 19th - The winner gets the pot What you need to do ... 1) send me (AnnR) a PM to let me know you're interested, and she will then give you her email address, which you will then use to send your entry fee $$ thru paypal (NO Credit Cards please!) - also, PLEASE include your BDW username with your payment! 2) You will take a before pic (keep it in your files) 4) Every Wednesday starting on the start date (see above), PM AnnR your weight. To keep it fair take a pic of the scale and send it to Ann as well. If the number on the scale isn't clear, please also type in the weight 5) On the last day of the contest (see above), take a photo and post before and after on this thread. If Ann does not receive your weigh in on that day, you are not eligible to win. 6) Ann will calculate percentage of weight loss from week-to-week (for fun and motivation), as well as the overall loss 7) The one who lost the most weight in terms of % loss at the end of eight weeks wins the pot! If you do not send in your weight on time for 2 weeks in a row w/o letting Ann know you're out that week, you will be disqualified.

As for the next season, I will happily track the weights and all that again, if you all (or someone) can just coordinate the rules, entry fee, start/end date, start a new thread, etc. It's up to you all! Kelly, let me know how you want your $510 in winnings ... it's just sitting in my PayPal, so that would be easy. Or I can mail you a check. I will send you a PM on Sunday night/Monday when I get back if I haven't heard from you before then. Congratulations! P.S. A lot of people never sent me their last weigh-ins, so their total loss may not be accurate. Oh well!
  5. Fairly certain you all don't need any help with mine! But this is interesting to read, anyway ...
  6. Whew. I just realized it yesterday, and was like CRAP! I just emailed the spreadsheet to myself so that I'd have access to it in Chicago. If I get the chance to check my emails and messages, I will try to post the results.
  7. Ok, you guys are going to HATE me! I am heading out of town tomorrow, and won't be able to post the results until Sunday evening/Monday morning. How big of a deal is that? Can you all handle the suspense? I guess I could bring my laptop with me. Or I might be able to just bring the spreadsheet where I keep track of it all, and then get on the forum from my SIL's house. Hmmmm .. If I can't do it - how pissed will you be?
  8. sure is ... http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t14777 http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t13834
  9. Getting married at Caletas was the best decision we made when it came to our wedding. It was perfect for us ... check out the links in my siggy if you're interested.
  10. I'm late ... but welcome! I was married at Caletas last June (2007) - there are some links in my siggy!
  11. Yay, a "feel good" thread. I haven't left the house today ... so not many options to do a good deed. I let Gwen sleep longer than she should have, through my planned Baby Yoga outing (boo!). Does that count? lol I do need to be better about this - it really does lift my mood, and the receiver too!
  12. awwww, so cute! that was so sweet of you, JaimeLynn

  14. good luck, everyone! i really hope we don't have more people that are DQ'd this week. send me your weigh-ins!
  15. I can't add anything to this thread, since I agree with the other gals. Sounds like Noah was just a little antsy last night! He could have been changing positions, or just testing out his new limbs. Hopefully he lets you get some sleep!
  16. I did a "day of" timeline thing that I threw in the OOT bags I handed out. But I didnt' do a program for the ceremony or anything. http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t19745

Is there a wall painted bright pink in the buffet dinner area? 2. Nicole, who is AWESOME, said to email her photos of bouquets, table settings and cakes that I like and then she'll do her best to reproduce. Do I need to provide her with the vases, ribbons, shells, etc? Or does she have that on hand? Amy I'll add you to our LC list of brides! 1. No, it used to be pink - now it's yellow, I believe. I'm sure the more recent LC brides can show you pictures. 2. You can provide that stuff if you want something specific, but I didn't bring anything like that. Well, I did bring some aqua seaglass, but that's it - the rest they provided!
  19. First of all, this is my first time reading this thread, and I didn't read the whole thing - so I apologize if this has been said before. I don't think any of us can pretend like we know this family. It's a tv show - we only see what the network wants us to see, they portray these people how they want us to see them - what will attract viewers. However, I actually was thinking the other day that I would love to hang out with John and Kate, they seem like my kind of people. I really like Kate - she says it like it is, no fluff. That's my kind of person! Quote: Originally Posted by Christine She is snotty with Jon because sometimes he does not help her out enough I am sure she is stressed out, no matter how much help she gets during the day, she still has to do a ton of work to take care of all those kids and yes many women have that many kids, but not many have that many kids who are all the same age, again if you don't like it don't watch it, because quite honestly until you are a mother you have no idea what its like to spend all day with your child, let alone 8 children (being a nanny is nothing compared to being a mother, I thought I was prepared for having a child because I too nannied and am also a teacher, but nothing prepares you for motherhood) Quote: Originally Posted by JessicaLovesBrian I think I may have said this before (can't remember and am too lazy to search back through this thread), but I'm so much like Kate in regards to her "attitude." I'm pretty much a self-professed b!tch and I will apologize to Brian afterwards, but it is super stressful to raise a child and be with them allllllll day long. I can barely handle Aiden. I think I would curl up in a corner and cry if I had 8 kids all within the same age range. I also was a teacher and did ABA therapy with children for the past 6 years. The children I worked with are Autistic and highly behavioral so I thought dealing with Aiden would be a breeze. While my experience did help, there's a big difference between an 8 hour day and a 24/7 commitment. People snap, people get mad, people fight, people aren't calm and collected all the time. Raising a child is the hardest thing I've ever done in my entire life. If they filmed my life and put it on tv, I can only imagine how I'd come off.... I know it wouldn't be pretty. Of course they are going to focus on showing the "tougher" side of raising the kids and show all the "bad" moments. And similar to what Christine and Jess said (or at least my interpretation of what they said!), I would strongly advise you against judging people before you walk a step in their shoes. I, too, nannied, babysat, and spent my life around and caring for kids. It is a whole different world when you have a child of your own and care for them 24/7. Until you have 8 kids ... hell, until you even have 1, I'd keep your parenting judgements to yourself. I challange you to be a stay at home mom, or any mom, and not once snap at your partner. And there are no "right" and "wrong" (to use your word) ways to parent your child in many situations. There's only YOUR way. When you have your own child, then you can figure out what works best for you.

LMAO! right, i think the group decision was to NOT post the overall results until the end. but that is totally up to you ladies, i will do what the group wants! but here's a little tidbit for you ... as a group, you have lost a total of 147.7lbs, and a total of 2.695% that's pretty darn impressive, ladies. for those that have missed weigh-ins, i just take the last weight that i received and carry it through, so in reality not only is it probably more pounds lost, but this total is accurate for just over half of the group that's still actively participating!

  24. it IS Wednesday, right? where is everyone?! I barely have any of the weigh-ins! if we hold that "miss 2 weeks in row and you're out" rule, there may be a few people dropping out this week too! to my knowledge, i don't have anyone that told me they'd be out this week.
