I posted mine on this site somewhere, let me see if I can find them.

we already have people signing up and paying - i love it! i am hoping the longer sign-up period will allow for lots of people to sign up this time. The only thing I have a question on is the DQ terms. Do you all want to keep it where if someone misses 2 weeks in a row they are DQ'd or just 2 weeks throughout the competition (or 3, whatever)? I'm game for what you all want! Quote: Originally Posted by Kathie Hi Ann. Thanks for doing this.......again! I am in......again! Hopefully this will be the last time. Thanks for catching that, Kathie - I knew I'd miss that somewhere.

Since there are quite a few people interested in the 5th season of BDW Biggest Loser, I thought I'd start a thread for you all. Normally, I don't set the rules or come up with the entry fee, I let you all decide on that before things get started, so this is the thread to discuss all of the rules and the entry fee. Here are the rules from Season 4 - if you'd like something to change, that's fine, but let's get the rules nailed down before the start of the season so it's clear to all who enter! Let me know (via PM in case I miss it in this thread) if the rules need to change. It's probably best to update the rules here in this post so they're clear to everyone involved. Anyone wanting to participate in BL5 can PM me (AnnR) and/or PayPal me the entry fee to <email address removed>. I need to reiterate NO CREDIT CARD PAYMENTS WILL BE ACCEPTED. If necessary, cash or personal check will be accepted via mail. BDW Biggest Loser V will start on Wednesday, January 7th, 2009- at which point you will send me your starting weight along with a photo of proof. This season will last 12 weeks, with the final weigh-in on 4/1/2009 (April Fool's Day!). Each subsequent Wednesday, you will send me your weight and photo before the end of the day. Weigh-ins can be sent via email, PM, text message - whatever! As long as you send it some time on Wednesday and include your screen name, weight, and a photo, it counts. Sign-ups will go through end of the day Tuesday, January 6th, 2009. So please PM me (AnnR) that you are going to participate and/or send me the sign up fee, and then post up here to let everyone know you're joining. - Entry fee $15 - Sign up and pay by Tuesday, January 6th, 2009 - Contest starts on Wednesday, January 7th, 2009 - Contest last 12 weeks, ending on Wednesday, April 1st, 2009 - The winner gets the pot What you need to do ... 1. send me (AnnR) a PM to let me know you're interested, and/or just PayPal the entry fee to <email address removed> (NO Credit Cards please!). 2. PLEASE include your BDW username with your payment! If you want a weekly email reminder for the weigh-ins, please also let me know the email address you'd like me to use. 3. You will take a before pic (keep it in your files) 4. Every Wednesday starting on the start date (see above), PM AnnR your weight. To keep it fair take a pic of the scale and send it to Ann as well. If the number on the scale isn't clear, please also type in the weight in your message. 5. On the last day of the contest (see above), take a photo and post before and after on this thread. If Ann does not receive your weigh in on that day, you are not eligible to win. 6. Ann will calculate percentage of weight loss from week-to-week (for fun and motivation), as well as the overall loss. 7. The one who lost the most weight in terms of % loss at the end of twelve weeks wins the pot! 8. If you do not send in your weight on time for 2 weeks in a row w/o letting Ann know in advance that you're out that week, you will be disqualified. Morgan, did you want to start a BL5 sign up thread, or would you like me to? We can start the sign up process anytime really. I do want to have the agreed upon rules posted upfront so there are no questions. Up to you guys if we do it now, or wait. I just know the holidays will be a little crazy, and maybe it would be better to give people more time this season. I can start taking names and sign-up fees whenever you all want! Will it be $15 again?

Nic, I haven't received my flowers, gift certificate, or chocolates yet. I've been waiting by the door!

My fiance and I are putting the deposit down today for our Nov. 7-09 wedding at Las Caletas (if we can get in touch with Nicole...she's a busy girl). After getting off the phone with my mom today I discovered that she's really, really upset that we're planning a wedding in Mexico. With the economy as horrendously ugly as it is right now she doesn't think that anyone will be able to show up and that we will end up being heartbroken over paying a lot of money for less than 10 guests. So..because she's my mother..she has put serious doubts in my mind. How many people showed up for you? What price do people consider acceptable for travel and airfare packages? Ugh. This is so frustrating. We haven't been able to get travel details hammered out yet because agents are telling us that airlines don't release flights until 11 months prior to the travel date. I know that the main focus shouldn't be about the wedding (blahblah) but the marriage but I am really stressed out. Go figure, a stressed out bride to be. Any suggestions? Honestly, most of the people we invited showed up - but this was also in 2007! wow, that seems so long ago. anyway. we had our heart set on a wedding on the beach - there was no getting around that. if no one could come, we might have considered doing it in the US somewhere, like S. Cal, but honestly, not sure that would have been much cheaper since people were going to have to travel regardless.

I felt like people just weren't really into this anymore. BUT - I love Morgan's attitude! It's that positive, and motivating attitude that makes me really like helping out by hosting! So, if people are in for BL5 I can start a sign up thread. Or do you all think that it makes sense to wait until AFTER the holidays? Usually the next one starts up a week or so after one ends, but not sure it makes sense in this case - but it's all up to you ladies!

I cried while reading your review! I am so excited that everything turned out great for you. I also cried because your wedding sounds exactly like how I WANTED mine to do ... but damn it, I was sick. It sounds like you had your dream wedding, and mine! lol Seriously though, congratulations! -

And overall my experience was positive, save for the WC at Dreams, who I think is no longer in that position (whew!). But I have traveled about 50+ weeks out of the year for the last 11-12 years, and have stayed in some pretty swanky hotels. both inside and outside the U.S. And I loved Dreams! I will say that it's definitely a "Mexican" resort, things happen on Mexico time, but that's what I love about Mexico, it's more laid back. So hopefully next time you visit, if you do, you'll have a better experience!

Same Sex Marriage Became Legal In CA today...
LCBride2007 replied to FYB87's topic in Random Thoughts
First off, I want to say thank you to those of you that are keeping this a respectful discussion. While I may disagree with some on here, I know everyone is entitled to their opinion, and as long as we all agree to respect those opinions, we can keep this thread going! I think most of you know how I feel on the issue. First off, who am I to say what people can/can't do in the privacy of their own home?! And personally, with a gay sister and gay mother who are in committed relationships (10+ years), it's hard for me to see them want so bad to make their relationships "legal" (to recieve the benefits that I do), but they can't because somehow their love isn't good enough. Believe what you want to believe, but don't force those beliefs on me!
