  1. BEAUTIFUL!!! You can tell how happy you and your hubby are. Enjoy the honeymoon!
  2. I spent a week in St. Kitts - and it was absolutely gorgeous. I can't name any other resorts other than the Marriott where we stayed, but it was beautiful, and the staff was incredibly nice. There were many resorts that were less "touristy" as well.
  3. Perfect - if I have something to start from, I can make that work. As for wedding colors, I am glad someone started that thread. I love the ideas of blues and greens, but I wanted more "subtle" colors for the ceremony. This sounds like what you did, Tammy. I want the reception to be more festive, and have brighter colors - but didn't want a ton of distractions for the ceremony.
  4. Tammy - yet another great idea. I am going to check this out - but I don't have a creative bone in my body!
  5. I love: books candles ("fall" colors) unique picture frames warm, comfy clothing (i live in the coooold midwest!) puzzles/games starbucks/caribou/etc. spa stuff (getting pedicures is how i treat myself!) I don't love: cheesy knick knacks christmas ornaments (i never have a tree, travel too much ... but someday) overly perfume-y stuff (soaps, lotions, etc.)
  6. CONGRATULATIONS!! I am sure you'll make a beautiful bride regardless, but I know how you feel - you want to look and FEEL great! Keep up the good work!
  7. Tammy - I went to VB Inage Host, then My Images. I have 3 w/a red 'x' - so I clicked on Delete Image for one of them, and it said "unable to delete image'
  8. YES! I can't wait to move on to the "other" planning stages. I've been holding on to all these ideas until we finally book the date.

  10. While looking at the link above, I also looked at some of the other slideshows. Here is one that shows some cute "beach-y" ideas! http://www.beachweddingsbytheknot.co...p.keywords=684
  11. Very good point - I think this is the route we are going to go. Paul loves the idea, and anything he is excited about I'm tempted to go with ... he tends to be quite passive in this wedding planning thing!
  12. Ok, I want your honest opinions. When shopping for STDs I ran across the STD Magnet. Here are some examples - 1) http://www.magnetstreet.com/store/de...productId/8845 2) http://www.polkadotdesign.com/catalo...rt/CMH-68WT-29 3) http://islandweddingshop.resultspage...=save+the+date 4) http://www.magnetstreet.com/store/br...5051/typeId/-1 What do you think? Part me me thinks these are kinda cute, different, and people can just put them on their 'fridge as a reminder. The other part of me thinks they're pretty cheesy. There are obviously many options for styles, but what do y'all think of the general idea? Be honest!!
  13. I love it - I too was thinking of going barefoot for the ceremony, but putting on some comfy flats for the ceremony. This is a great idea. Someone mentioned the sand being too hot in July - my wedding date is June, I hadn't thought about that, I guess I could always wear the flats for the ceremony too if I needed to.
  14. I think I did this once while I was on a cruise that stopped in Jamaica - it was awesome!
  15. That's awesome that you guys can share decorations and ideas - how great is that!?
  16. For anyone that uses these, can they post pictures ... please! I am really bad at imagining something w/o being able to see the finished result. I've love to see how they look!
  17. Definitely plenty of time. I just got engaged a month or so ago, and am planning a June 2007 wedding - I haven't booked anything yet! Take a deep breath - you have plenty of time to make everything perfect. Especially since it sounds like you've made some of the decisions already!

  20. Well if anyone can help, someone on this site can! i am getting married in Puerto Vallarta in June 2007 (Las Caletas), and I just started my planning so I don't have much to offer just yet - but someone will! I'd suggest browsing the forums to see if there's anything in there that can help you. I look forward to hearing what you've done so far in PV. Can I ask who you're using for your photographer, florist, etc.? I can't wait to hear how it all goes too!

FYI - I believe she/he said you also have to add $1,000 for travel. It's spendy, but could be worth it!
  23. AWESOME to hear, thanks for sharing - this is one of the resorts I have on my list.
