  1. So if I am on another forum and want to mention this forum, the link under usercp is what I should use? Or is this just for referring a bride you're specifically talking to? Basically my question is - how to I point brides in this direction?!
  2. Welcome! There are mostly Cabo, or Mexico brides on here - but I am sure you will find a lot of useful info. on this site even if there aren't many bahama brides.

I don't know if I will be able to do a site visit or not. I think it would be nice just to set my mind at ease, but I don't think it's necessary. And my sister made a good point the other day - she said "wouldn't that kind of ruin the fun, to see it all before it's your day?" While I don't think it will ruin anything, I do think it will be fun for it to be "new" to us when we get down there. And we plan on going down at least a couple days before the wedding to get a feel for the place. Also, a friend is going to PV in Jan. - if you have any special requests, please ask! She's happy to help ...

It's supposed to be 65!
  5. Too funny - I saw a girl that looked like your picture, she was trying on wedding dresses, and I almost said something to her! Glad I didn't!
  6. You weren't at Macy's on State St. last week (Wed. I think), were you?
  7. Welcome! I know the feeling - I finally just booked a location last week after stressing about it for weeks. This site has DEFINITELY helped. Ask any questions you have, and you're sure to get an answer. Most of the girls here are Cabo brides, but there's many Puerto Vallarta, Riviera Maya, Cancun, etc. as well.
  8. So I saw a STD card that I liked, but I wanted to use magnets. So I attempted to copy the design into something that I could upload and have made into a magnet. Here is my attempt - I used Excel and clip art. I am still playing with the exact wording, and whether or not I want the little calendar. Any feedback is appreciated! 9. Good tip - thanks! But knowing me, I'll trip and do a face plant while walking down the sand aisle! I'll be sure to take it slow ... !

I'm so excited and I can't wait to marry Him. congrats Carol btw!!! Natalie - you and I are so similar, it's scary! Paul and I did the long distance thing for a while, we started dating in June 2003 (so close). I moved to Chicago to be with him at the end of Aug 2005. And we live just a couple blocks apart!
  11. So for all of you that got married ON the beach (actually in the sand) did you wear shoes? If so, were they a pain in the butt? I was thinking of going barefoot for the ceremony, then putting on shoes for the reception. But then I wonder what I do about alterations for my dress. Do I get it altered for the barefoot height, then get shoes with little to no heel? Any advice, ladies?
  12. I was paging through my Modern Bride magazine (the Dec/Jan 2007 issue), and there was an article that had you answer a few questions to help determine what your "resort style" was. It then went on to suggest various resorts for each style - the styles were 1) Active Honeymooner, 2) Seclusion-Seeking Honeymooner, 3) Unplugged Honeymooner, and 4) Ultraluxury-Loving Honeymooner. Anyway, this resort falls under the second category - Seclusion-Seeking. Here is what the magazine says ... Any place with a name that means "the house that sings" has got to be special, right? This 25 room gem of a resort trickles like a waterfall down a cliffside overlooking tranquil Zihuatanejo Bay. Deliriously happy couples soak up sun at private pools or gather for ceviche and margaritas under white umbrellas. Next up: a sensuous massage or an afternoon of amor? If you want big but not impersonal, try this upscale AI: It feels intimate despite its 200 rooms, and guests receive 5-star care. The party flows from the beach to six eateries - among them, Las Ventanas by Michelin-starred chef Sergi Arola - then on to the Piano Bar or the clubs of close-by Playa del Carmen. If your goal is 15, and you've already lost 7 - that's almost half way. I admire your hard work, seriously! And you've got so much time to go - what a great feeling! You're motivating me to do something to reach my goal ... !
  15. Erika - I don't think you can go wrong with either of these places. Are you planning on doing any site visits before the wedding? I haven't decided yet if I will.
  16. Welcome, and congratulations. This site is definitely helpful - and it also sounds like you have some great ideas to share.

To explain it any other way is way too complicated, and in general if it is someone I know well enough that I want them to know the full history, they already know it. And I don't want to deal with that reaction you got! BTW, he is officially "FI" as of Saturday. My mom arrives this evening (coming to visit for T-day), and we haven't told here yet. I'm sure she'll be thrilled - sometimes I think she likes him better than me! LOL! Congratulations!
  18. Welcome. As many have said so far - this is the place to come for whatever you need. So many girls here have been or will be married in Cabo, and they're soooo helpful!
  19. Congratulations, and I can't wait to hear all about it! You may have the right idea - just plan your wedding in a matter of weeks, and you save on all the stress, AND your wedding still turns out beautiful! I can't wait to see the pictures ...
  20. Paul and I met in 2001 at work when I was still married, but in the process of seperating. We were friends for a couple years before dating in 2003, so we've been dating for a little over 3 years. It will be almost 4 years dating when we marrry in June 2007!
  21. Seriously, how great would that be if one of us won! I may submit something - I just am not a great writer. I wonder how she will decide ... ? Her stuff looks amazing!
  22. Welcome, Erika! You will definitely find this site helpful, not only for planning your wedding, but also just for keeping you sane! It's great just to bounce an idea around, or vent about anything! I am getting married in PV as well, but not at a resort. I've just begun looking at resorts to stay at and hold my welcome dinner. I'll be sure to post any information I find! I haven't stayed there personally, but a friend has stayed at the Westin and loved it. Happy planning!
  23. We knew we wanted a beach wedding, and we wanted it to be somewhat close to Hawaii since that's where we're honeymooning. We chose Las Caletas because it was a little "different" than getting married on the beach in front of a resort. The private beach is only accessible by boat, and it's, well PRIVATE! It's almost like we'll have our own little island for the evening.
