  1. Welcome, Alison. This is an amazing site. I really think it's the main reason I haven't gone completely insane yet! There are so many Cabo brides here ... I am getting married in Puerto Vallarta, but have still found a ton of great information. Have you picked your location yet? You have plenty of time to plan - I am sure your wedding will be amazing! Also good to see another Chicago gal on here!
  2. I LOVE this book (now makes me think I want to do one eventually!). Your pictures are amazing, I can't suggest anything else! I do like the "ending" idea though - you could even use that one picture of you guys walking away, hand in hand.
  3. Welcome, Sarah! I can't wait to hear more about your wedding. How did you choose Lake George, is that where you're from? COngratulations!
  4. I haven't, but I was thinking of calling them. I am a Marriott junkie! Because I travel so much for work, I have like 500K points, and am "platinum" with them - I've love to be able to use points for our, or our guests, stay. But I don't think it's an AI, or close to Dreams, where I am thinking of staying. But I don't know ... Let me know if you get to them before I do - otherwise I will share what I find out.
  5. Ok, Tammy - I need to call you this week to start looking into my plans in PV!

Since I've been searching, I've also come up with a few more. Many (all?) of these aren't located in PV - but will travel. Fairy Tale Wedding (Gaia Mikosza) - fairy-tale-wedding.com Story By Photo (Gino and Heather Lucadamo) - Story by Photo is the worlds leading Destination Wedding Photographer also serving Arizona, California, Florida and New York Sergio - Sergio Photographer (referred by Sol Tamargo) Elizabeth Medina - Mexico Wedding Photographer, Elizabeth Medina, destination wedding photography, Merida, Yucatan, Mexico (referred by a few people, including Juan!) (newer, but had great work, recent Knottie!)
  7. Kristi - that's a cute idea. I really don't want to have an AHR, like many have said - it defeats the purpose of having a DW! But if for some reason there are a lot of people that can't make it to PV, then maybe we will think about it - but it would be a pretty casual event.
  8. I didn't really know where to post this thread, so if you want to move it, Tammy - no problem! I didn't want to put this in the PV area, since she isnt' from PV and could be used anywhere! Maybe we could add a place to put all of the photographers that aren't necessarly tied to one location somewhere - those that travel ... just an idea. I know I've seen Elizabeth Medina's name in various places, but I can't remember if anyone here used her, or knows of her. I think she's the #1 on my list so far for photographers, but I wanted to get some feedback from you all first. I asked Juan if he was available for my date, but he's not - but he did recomend Elizabeth! I've also had a couple people recomend Elizabeth, I just can't remember who (I know a couple girls from The Knot did). Mexico Wedding Photographer, Elizabeth Medina, destination wedding photography, Merida, Yucatan, Mexico I am putting her package info. in here too; one, so you all can see it in case you're looking too, and two, so you can tell me if you think it's a reasonable price! Elizabeth is located in Yucatan, but travel costs are included in her pricing. Elizabeth Medina-2007.doc Elizabeth Medina-2007.doc
  9. Welcome! I'm getting married in Puerto Vallarta, but you came to the right place for help with planning your wedding. I've heard many great things about RIU - I am sure it will be beautiful! How many people are you having? Have you done a lot of the planning so far?
  10. Oooohhh - that's really too bad. I don't know if I will do something like this, but it's a cute idea. I just don't know that I'd do a guest book - so this could take it's place.
  11. I don't know if this idea has popped up anywhere yet, but I thought it was kind of cute, something different anyway. It may present an issue when it comes to transporting this - but possibly worth the effort. Or maybe this would be better for an AHR. Basically, instead of your guests signing a guest book they can sign a plate. I like the palm tree plate. These could also be used for many other occasions! 12. I don't have much on Antonio, other than Sol Tamargo gave me his information, he's a "friend" of hers. I don't know yet if we'll be getting a videographer, so I haven't contact him yet. This is what Sol Tamargo had to say ... "... his name is Antonio, he doesn't have a website...but his work is pretty good, this is his email: [email protected]"
  13. More photos by Sol Tamargo - scroll down to find this wedding (Jennifer & Timothy) Sol Tamargo Photography
  14. Here is a link to some new photos by Sol Tamargo. They seem to be in various locations - here is what she said in the blog ... "this photos were taken at 3 different places, we started at Secrets Excellence grounds, then drived to Cancun to get the amazing blue water as a background..., then drive to where I live, to have a more romantic scenery..." 15. That's good to hear. My FI just told me his brothers were talking about looking for a villa for them to all stay in. Other friends have made comments about finding "less expensive" places to stay. I am really hoping to sway them with gentle comments about how it will be nice to all be in one place, and make transportation easier, etc. I may also include the wording to persuade people to stay at the AI in my STD - it's posted somewhere on this forum. Sorry girls ... I strayed off topic!
  16. If not all of these rooms are reserved, do you get any $$ back? I am just having a real hard time guaging how many people will actually stay at the AI I choose verses just trying to find a cheaper option.
  17. I haven't even started looking for shoes (well, I also haven't bought my dress!). But I do think I'll get an inch or so heels, and hopefully we can hem it to a length where it works for both. Good tip - thanks!
  18. Congratulations, and welcome! I love the name, by the way. Have you decided where you're getting married yet?
  19. Welcome! I'm not familiar with Tulum, but I am sure the girls here can help!
  20. Got it - I had to open Word, then open it from the menu, and select "Open and Repair" - not sure what the issue is.
  21. Sarah - that happens to me all of the time. Paul and I stay in hotels booked under my name, and they call him Mr. Ex's last name. I agree - good thing they have a sense of humor!
  22. i just tried and got an error too - word says it can't read the file, and it is possibly corrupt. perhaps it's a version thing?
  23. Can you do something like mr and mrs lastname request the honor of your presence at the marriage of their daughter kathryn nicole lastname to........... ?
