I am posting this info. here because there's no other forum for CA weddings! When Paul and I were still trying to decide on a location, this is one we seriously considered. It's in San Diego, CA, and it's beautiful! We just decided we wanted to get married in Mexico instead. I spoke with the wedding coordinator here, and she was very nice. She gave me these 2 packets, which are for 2006, but should give a good idea of what they offer. That could be fun - trying to guess! THough it sounds like some had to put names on their packages.

Good tip - I have seen those little jewels, I will have to look for them. I just searched on "small starfish" and these little blue fellas popped up, and I thought they were cute. I think they have other colors too.

I want one! I want one! I have to admit, I haven't sent mine yet and won't be able to until I get home on Fri. or Sat. I feel awful, but ran into some shipping issues!

I saw them in a Knottie's bio, but now I also see them in that Leigh Miller slide show (good eyes, Edyta!). I am wondering if I do want a little heel though, even just an inch or so. Like I said - I haven't really started looking yet, so I am sure I will change my mind 100 times!

So after Tammy (at least I think it was Tammy) mentioned I could start a little DIY project to dress up some shoes w/starfish or something, I started searching around. Nothing yet for the shoes really, but I came across these, and I thought they were cute. They could be scattered around on the table, or into a vase or votive or something. I am sure you all can come up with better ideas than I can (and please share if you do!). I haven't got mine yet either, but I haven't been home since the 14th, and won't be home until Friday night. I can't wait - gives me something fun to open when I get home besides bills!

Who do you think I am, Martha Stewart!? lol Kidding, and I think that's a great idea! My dress has some beading, so maybe I could add a little sparkle to the shoes too. I'll have to make a trip to the craft store to see what they have.

Edyta - are you just trying to get me to spend even MORE money! lol I haven't completely written them off yet - but I haven't really started looking for shoes yet. Do you remember which slide show you saw them in?

Welcome to the forum! I don't know the legal requirements to get legally married in Mexico when you're from the UK, but be sure to check into those if you want the wedding in Mexico to be legal (your WC should be able to help you with this). There are a lot of girls on this forum getting married in Mexico, so let us know what you have questions about - and we'll do our best to help!

I've never been to either, but I am staying at and having my welcome dinner at Dreams PV - and it gets some great reviews.

I don't know anything about their wedding packages, but Paul and I stayed at this hotel in Sonoma, CA and it was absolutely beautiful, and the restaurant had great food. Wedding Destinations: Wedding and Honeymoon Resorts at Fairmont

totally agree - i feel bad talking about my wedding with some of my other friends. you girls are in the same boat as me!

I think I like the 2nd one better as well, I think it's more "tropical" and like the lighter colors better than the darker.

Welcome, Laura! Jackie is your gal for your destination - so ask any questions you have! It sounds like you're pretty flexible with your date, so you may also want to rank the resorts or pick out a couple favorites first, and see what's available. In the meantime, let us know how the rest of your planning is going! I just got engaged at the end of Sept. and so far have my site booked, bought my dress, and hired a photographer - but that's about it! I am slowly checking things off of the list ...
