  1. Well, since you'll be on the "left" coast (heehee), Hawaii isn't too far away. I've never been, but I know it may not be the cheapest place, though I am guessing there are options. Of course there's Mexico too - and that can definitely be done more economically.
  2. Welcome! At least you have a good excuse to stay in and focus on the wedding! I am travelling to Chicago (home) tomorrow, and don't like my chances of getting in on time - I think part of your storm may visit us! It sounds like you're flexible with your location - so I bet you'll be able to find a good date at at least one of those resorts! Maybe you can list them in order of preference, and then find out what dates are available at each one. How many people do you plan on having? Are there a lot of children?
  3. you can't just say that and not share! doesn't sound like a great story - so sorry. share when you're ready!
  4. I know, me too. I hope you stay on this forum long enough for me to ask you questions!
  5. Thanks for sharing! Would you be able to show us what the linen ones look like?
  6. Welcome! A Christmas wedding - how awesome! Have you done anything besides choose your location? You're past the hard part! ANd you have some time, so you can relax and enjoy the process. Let us know if we can help.
  7. good to know you can use the mariachi band for the actual ceremony too, i wasn't sure of this, i knew i wanted one for a cocktail hour, and wasn't sure what to do about the ceremony.
  8. i can't wait to get home tomorrow night - i hope my present is there!
  9. Welcome, Daria! Of course a new PV bride joins the forum on a day where I am just swamped. Which villas are you staying at? I really thought about going that route, but wasn't sure how to get started. How big is your wedding? It's coming up - are you so excited? Do you still have a lot to do? I am getting married in June at Las Caletas, and then having my welcome dinner and my guests stay at Dreams PV. Let us know if we can help you at all, or just share what you've already done! I was just in Phoenix visiting my mom (Apache Junction)!
  10. I tried on a style like this and absolutely loved it! It was actually a bridesmaid dress that I would have just got in ivory, and saved a lot of $$. I didn't get it because i thought it would be too hot in Mexico in June. But I loved the look - my girlfriend calls them "cake dresses!"
  11. I don't have the answers either - but I also wanted to welcome you, and say congratulations! Hopefully someone on this site will be able to help. Are you getting married in Germany?
  12. Well, I am sure I will be able to write almost exactly what Natasha did AFTER I get married, but for now ... 1) I said I wouldn't spend that much on a dress. OOPS! 2) I said I wouldn't let the rest of the planning become too big of a deal. Double OOPS! 3) I said I'd try to get work done and not spend as much time of the forum this week. Well, we all see how that's going ...

The guys there (and most everywhere it seems) are so short. To me, if a guy was below 6' he was short. I've had to change that outlook since moving from MN. My ex was 6'4" - and he had a brother and 2 younger sisters - the sisters were both 6' and the mom was the shortest at 5'10" - his dad was 6'8" or something!
  14. I tend to agree with Edyta, we're all pretty busy and all over the place. And that way - we can spread out the fun of hearing about what everyone got!
  15. Good luck! I won on my first time playing, maybe you will too.
  16. Wow - STUNNING! Definitely let us know how it goes on Friday, and good luck!
  17. Seriously - and I can tell you, Ed, look at it in such a practical way! It really seems so much more cut and dry that way. Good work.
  18. I am too, Tammy! I haven't received mine, but I have been gone for a while, and won't be back until Fri., but I KNOW my SS won't receive hers until after XMas so I wouldn't mind waiting for selfish reasons. But I know I'd be awful at waiting if I actually had my gift in hand.

    Newbie

Welcome Glenda - you've definitely come to the right place! You should start your own "Newbie" thread so we can all get to know you and answer all of your questions, but you're off to a good start! You can completely relax now - there are so many Cabo brides on this forum that can help you, and answer any question you have.
  20. TammyM - Tammy (host) is talking about you. heehee
  21. My dad just sent me this joke, and I got a little chuckle out of it, so I thought I'd post. I know many of us are a little stressed out (some more than others!), but a little laugh will help us all! Post your joke of the day here! --------------------------------------------------------------------- An 80-year old man goes for a physical. All of his tests come back with normal results. The doctor says, "Chuck, everything looks great. How are you doing mentally and emotionally? Are you at peace with God?" Chuck replies, "God and I are tight. He knows I have poor eyesight, so he's fixed it so when I get up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom, POOF! the light goes on. When I'm done, POOF! the light goes off. " WOW, That's incredible" the doctor says. A little later in the day, the doctor calls Chuck's wife. "Ethel," he says, "George is doing fine! But I had to call you as I am in awe of his relationship with God. Is it true that he gets up during the night and POOF! the light goes on in the bathroom, and when he's done POOF! the light goes off? "Oh my Lord!" Ethel exclaims. "he's peeing in the refrigerator again!
  22. Funny I just came across this thread when I was looking for something else. I voted "sure, why not" - Paul may end up going to one, but I think it would be more for the ritual thing than anything else. I actually doubt he'll end up going - he'd rather go play paintball with the boys. I do, however, have a problem with bringing strippers or dancers into the house though. I'm not exactly sure why - but I feel like more happens when guys do that. Paul went to another bachelor party where they hired 2 girls - and after the dance, the girls gave "private dances" in the back bedroom. I'd bet $$ that there was no actual dancing involved! Paul agreed (no, he wasn't one that did it, but he told me who did, and I am not surpised, this guy is a sleeze). Anyway - I totally trust Paul, so it's not an issue.
  23. Welcome, Ed! It looks like you guys just started planning - how's it going so far? Have you narrowed it down to any favorite resorts or locations? Let us know how we can help!
