  1. Ditto, on both comments! I think I plan on doing a mariachi band for the cocktail hour (and maybe dinner?), and then something else for the reception and dance. I kind of want to leave it up to Paul though, since he's much more in to music than I am.

    New Here

Welcome! Jackie will be very helpful - and the rest of us will do our best. If you have any specific questions, let us know - we're here to help!
  3. I know I started one because I was thinking of doing this - let me see if I can find it ...
  4. CONGRATULATIONS! I can't wait to see all of the pictures from your photog.

Thanks, jackie! There was quite a flood of Chicago brides for a while - I guess word travels fast. And I wish I could take credit - but unfortunately I don't think it was me. Then again, I am talking about this forum so much, that people might just be checking it out from overhearing all my raving! Maybe she can be our other motm since Tammy usually gives out more than one! Awwww, shucks ... thanks! As for my vote - I would definitely give it to Jackie. I also think Amy has done a great job since she joined. I'm a little biased since she's getting married in PV, but she's been posting a ton of useful info. as well!
  6. When I was trying to decide which website to use, I put together a list of the options and some examples - many of which are your own websites! I also have some of your comments in there. I thought it might be helpful for those of you that are just starting up! Wedding Websites.doc
  7. wow, go Kristina! You may want to take a trip to Vegas in the near future!
  8. I can relate! I drove out to Oakbrook Terrace just to find they didn't have what I wanted to try on - grrrrrr. Good luck, and let us know how it goes!
  9. Welcome! What's your name (or I can just call you Mexico15!)? You must be getting so excited - your wedding date is coming up soon! What else do you have left to do, or are you pretty much done with all of the details? I am getting married at Las Caletas in Puerto Vallarta, but am staying at and having my welcome dinner at Dreams. I would love to see any pictures you have or hear about your Dreams experiece so far. I've been waiting for the WC to get back from vacation, so I haven't talked to her yet. Let us know how we can help you in anyway - glad to have another Puerto Vallarta bride!
  10. Great post! I was thinking of doing something like this as well, maybe like 1 towel per couple. It will depend on cost, and if I think people will want to have this extra item to carry it back to the states with them. I was also thinking of getting the towels in our wedding colors, then having them embroidered, but again, not sure if this is in the budget yet! More options (and more $$): Vertical Rugby Stripe Beach Towel - Lands' End Jaquard Beach Towels Wholesale and Retail

I don't know yet what I am willing to spend, I don't want it to be a lot, but I still want it to be a pretty dress. Quote: Originally Posted by LALA I just ordered 2 dresses for under $100 each. So glad everyone is finding bargain dresses - it makes me wonder if I should have waited before spending so much on a dress. (not letting myself think of that!!!) I still need to find my day after dresss - I didn't get to it before the end of the year!
  12. Nice work Christine (and Will!) - they look great, and a GREAT price! I love Napa - I am sooooo excited to see all of your pictures.
  13. I saw that email on the PV Bride yahoo group - I'm a member too. Since I am getting married in Las Caletas I think they have a set list of people they work with, that are willing to go to Las Caletas - so I am glad you can provide this info. for the other PV brides! I should ask my WC who they use, because I am sure they do other weddings outside of Las Caletas!
  14. YES YES YES! I couldn't make up my mind and ended up losing Elizabeth Medina. In the end I am happy with how things worked out, I found another photographer - Leigh Miller - who is amazing, but still, I may not have been so lucky! If you do know who you want to go with, I'd book them as soon as you can. Elizabeth Medina would be a great choice.
  15. Welcome, Shannon! You've already got the experts helping you out - but I just wanted to say welcome, and let you know we're here to help if we can!
  16. My pleasure! I actually have my "real" dress, but am on the lookout for a nice, inexpensive dress that I can use for the day after pictures if I decide to do a "trash the dress" session. These could work! And I like the idea that you can return them to a JCrew store if they don't work.
  17. Welcome to the site, Wendy! You will find all of the Cabo brides on this site very helpful. Happy planning!
  18. well since i think she can only stay 2-3 nights, it probably wouldn't even be worth it to stay elsewhere. she's in the middle of starting up a business/franchise (Entrees Made Easy, in AZ) so she'll be so busy we're assuming she can't stay much longer than that.
  19. Welcome! I am sure someone here can help you with your questions - I am a PV bride, but I wanted to at least welcome you to the forum! When are you looking to get married?
  20. Just thought I'd share this link - there are some cute dresses (or shoes, accessories, etc.). They're on sale - plus an additional 25% off until Jan 1st. Some could make a nice wedding dress as well, or WD dress, bridesmaid dress, or a "just because" dress! J.Crew > women's sale medium > dresses Happy Shopping!
  21. Welcome Angela, and congratulations on your engagement! There are a ton of brides on here that got married or are getting married at Dreams in Cabo - so you will get a lot of help! As for a binder, I don't have one but am starting to think I should. I have little papers flying everywhere! Now for the important thing - you'll have to post a picture of your ring, we love seeing all the great styles!
  22. Ditto, girls - was going to say the same thing. You should be able to put your envelopes through your printer. But if that's too hard, you could do what I did and just print out clear address labels and stick em' where you want them! Also, for my address labels and the note cards I included with my STDs, I just downloaded the Avery template that I needed (Office Supplies - Office Products | Avery Official Website) and that made it so easy!
  23. I know - I really think I do want her close to me. But the thought of free lodging is somewhat appealing (since we'll be paying for her, my choice). But in the end - I think I want mom real close by! I thought I'd find out what I could about this place though before deciding. Thanks!
  24. I agree with Tammy! I don't know how it goes with the rest of your decor. but it's different - I like it! Though I do think all of them are pretty.
  25. Welcome! I am getting married in Puerto Vallarta so can't help too much with the Cancun or Cozumel locations - but I am sure other girls can!
