So Paul and I are having our wedding ceremony and reception in Mexico - but we're going to make it legal on our honeymoon in Hawaii, not sure what island though (this is a secret to most people - so shhhhhhh! - lol). We were just wondering if there's anything special we need to do to get legally married in Hawaii; I can't imagine it's much different than any other state - but we wanted to check. This thread >> http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t858 makes it sound pretty easy. I was divorced in 2003 (that's when it was legal anyway), so not sure what complications that adds - doesn't seem like much.
We're thinking of having a little ceremony and then a romantic dinner, just the two of us. I am assuming that where ever we stay in Hawaii will help us coordinate that, even though we're not having a big celebration or dinner - anyone know if that will be a problem? I just picture a WC not wanting to waste their time with just the 2 of us! Or maybe we have to do it at a courthouse? We'd just like to walk in, get married, and walk away Mr. & Mrs.!
We'd also like to have a photographer capture our secret ceremony - but I can't imagine needing one for more than about 30-60 minutes. Just our ceremony, and then some shots of us as a couple, something like that.
Any tips for us? Share ideas, "gotchas," or anything else you think I should consider!
