  1. well i know paul likes the "sporty" look so i might look for some cute sporty stuff -not sure. maybe a jersey or something? he's a Bears fan, and i am a vikings fan - so if i do this for him, which i am, i'd wear some bears gear or something - but good lord, will that be painful to do! also, he went to iowa -so maybe some hawkeye stuff? not sure. i do want to do the sexy, lingerie stuff too - i just don't have much right now (so sad, i know!).
  2. This is one thing on my list I am struggling with - and would love some ideas from you creative ladies. Can anyone post pictures of their OOT Bags? Thanks, girls!

I am trying to get a ton of stuff done today so my posts are going to be a tad short, and sloppy! I just can't stay off of here for long though - I'm addicted!
  4. Here is a good list to check out - http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t2177 Many of the girls have used Juan Carlos Tapia - he's amazing, he's also local to Cabo! I am using Leigh Miller, she lives in CA, she's on this site as well (so is Carlos). Jonathan Thrasher is on this forum as well, but I don't know that anyone has used him ... yet!!
  5. Wow - you're getting married soon - congratulations! You're getting married the day before my birthday - how fun! What last minute things are you still working on?
  6. I've heard laser isn't permanent, but electrolysis is - but I am not 100% sure. I'd rather go through the big pain a few times than the moderate pain on a regular basis!
  7. For the ladies that are thinking of doing this, I am curious as to what you're planning on wearing. I need to hit the stores I - but I am wondering what you're all doing as well! Or maybe this is better discussed over email - not sure. I'm curious though ...
  8. welcome! if you're looking for a travel agent, tammy (host) is definitely a great choice. i've heard of people having good luck with destionationwedding.com - but I didn't It just wasn't a good fit for me - they didn't help me with choosing a location (we were all over the board!), but instead they just kept sending me package prices for locations I had mentioned. I was looking for more "expert" advice on my other options. Anyway - we can definitely help you here, just let us know more about what you're looking for!
  9. I chose to fly a photographer in from the US for my wedding at Las Caletas - her name is Leigh Miller, and she's also on this forum occasionally. I've heard of many great photographers over the last handful of months that I've been planning, but unfortunately I don't think any are local to PV. Check this thread out for some ideas ... http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t2177 Also, one of the photographers who is also on this site is have a contest ... you could try this too ... http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t2157
  10. Marisa - don't worry about the placemats; I just have no idea how many guests I will have at this point anyway - it could now easily be over 50. You must be getting so excited - I am excited for you! We'll really have a steady stream of Las Caletas brides now through June ... and I can't wait! And since I am towards the end, I get to steal everyone's ideas! Unfortunately, I don't know the first thing about make-up (nor do I want to!), so I do need help there. I am hoping I can get a friend to do it for me - I'll just have her practice some time the week before.

  12. awwww - edyta, thank you! i LOVE that you said that - since that's the look paul loves - you made me smile even while sitting here in the airport waiting for my delayed flight (and THAT is tough!)
  13. Welcome! Don't worry - you came to the right place for help! It sounds like you have a lot done, don't worry! Start searching this forum for ideas - here are a couple threads to get you started ... http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t2085 http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t2390 http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t2144 http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t2010 http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t1828 Happy shopping!
  14. Welcome! You've definitely come to the right place - the girls here will give you their honest opinions. I've heard great things about the Riu Palace - good luck!
  15. no worry about me starving myself, i wouldn't be able to - i love food too much. i just need to be good about working out; and cutting out the cookies wouldn't hurt either!
  16. I prefer Friday, just because I travel out of state M-Th - but I told Leigh that if Thurs is the day that works better for everyone - I will do my best to make it work - I'll say I have an "appointment" on Thursday I have to be home for - I have all male co-workers, they won't ask questions. heehee
  17. Ok, ladies - who's in? I think it would be so much fun for all of us to get these done at the same time! Here's the information I got from Leigh - just contact her to set something up or ask any additional questions you may have, or ask them on here. If we get enough people, we can find a great hotel room or studio and do them there, or if anyone has a cool place they'd like to offer up then Leigh will cut them a deal (see details below)! I'd offer my place, but it's not the best location (nothing outdoors) and both bedrooms are pretty dark, and it's not very scenic in general. Also, I am doing this behind Paul's back - so I'd have to make up something to kick him out of the house. Anyway, here's the scoop ... 1) Sessions are $350; this includes $100 print credit. Digital negatives may be purchased for $300. Albums are available as well, starting at $300. 2) There is a $175 retainer fee to hold your session. 3) Leigh has the following times available -- Thursday, February 8th between 11am - 4pm and Friday, February 9th between 12 noon - 4pm. Whichever time slots works best for the most people will "win." 4) Each sessions will be 1 to 1 1/2 hours long, accounting for clothes changes, etc. **Anyone having a place to use can have their session fee waved and they will get a $100 print credit. You will need to send photos to Leigh of the bedrooms, living room, outdoor areas, etc. that could be used.** Please email Leigh at [email protected] to let her know you're interested (and post here as well!).
  18. I know we've already chatted a little on another thread - but I will officially welcome you here! Your wedding is coming up soon - I can't wait to hear more about it!
  19. Right, you don't need to even bring your US marriage paperwork.
  20. You ladies are definitely way ahead of me. But here's what I am THINKING of doing ... I have long hair, with a mind of it's own, so I think I will need more time to have it done - and I know it would get ruined on the boat if I went over with everyone. Though I still may change my mind on this, since that boat trip sounds like fun! What are you doing, Marisa? I plan on getting a mariachi (sp?) band for the cocktail hour - not sure what do to about music for the actual ceremony - could I use the mariachi band for this as well? And I go back and forth about reception music - my FI is definitely the music one out of the 2 of us, so it's really his call. I sure don't want to deal w/it (getting an iPod all loaded and stuff), so it's up to him. I also like the idea of a DJ being interactive - so we'll see there. I don't plan on doing favors at the table - I think I'll just give OOT (Out of Town) bags to the guests in their rooms and fill it with goodies. I am flying in a photographer from the US, so I didn't go with any of their packages - this is something that was very important to me, so I was ok with spending some money on the photography. So I don't know if you can get extra prints or not, Nicole should be able to tell you. I spoke with someone who got married at Las Caletas a while ago though, and they used one of their packages, and were quite happy.
  21. I haven't looked into the details yet - what was printed on your bag, did you cutomize, or just have something standard on there?
