I KNOW! I really want to have gwen read the TCOYF book when she's older - I wish I had known so much of that stuff!

But for so many other reasons ... 1) I was so sick on our wedding day I don't feel like I really got to experience LC, I was in the bridal casita the whole time, except for the wedding. 2) I'd love to go back w/o all of the wedding distractions and just enjoy it! 3) I'd love to see Rythems of the Night! 4) I'd love Gwen to see it (and eventual child #2). 5) more reasons that I can't think of right now!

No regrets at all - I am so happy with my decision. It really makes things a lot more simple. I'm also "older" (was 33 when we got married) and already married once - so not sure if that makes a difference. I just didn't want to deal with it - and I'm not really a planner or a sentimental person, so that stuff just doesn't matter to me. Most of my close friends were able to celebrate with me, and that's waht mattered! I did have my 1 good friend, sister, and mom come over to LC early with me though - so it was kind of like a bridal party, without all of the fuss!
  4. I didn't have a wedding party - the moms of the flowergirls did their hair. It was expensive, but worth it to me!
  5. I have to agree with Kristy and the others. It didn't cost them $3000+ to attend the other kids weddings, so if you're just looking at it from a financial standpoint it makes sense that the $ they give you is less.
  6. well, threads that aren't "admin" or started by one of the admin team are hard because we don't know what teh original poster was referencing. However, since jmb0902 graciously said "MarieSam" had inspired her DIY project, I search for some DIY threads that MarieSam started, and found 2 of them about stickers. Based on the title, I guessed at which one jmb0902 was talking about, and put that link in the thread that you pointed out. But this is something that anyone could have done (search for MarieSam's threads). Normally I would have no way of knowing what jmb0902 was referring to, without her reference to MarieSam (so thanks, JoAnn!)

I spent the entire day at LC and left at 9am to go over there. there is no way i would have wanted hair and makeup done then. if you are maybe not planning on going over for the day then getting hair/makeup at the hotel is possible but on the boat you will get pretty wind-blown i would imagine. when are you planning on heading over? with your guests or early in the morning? It looks like we make a great team then, cuz I was going to say the exact same thing about the hair. Most brides do head over early and spend the say swimming, relaxing, etc. and your hair/makeup might not last all day in the heat. Or even if you don't go over early, I don't know how hair would withstand the boat ride over. I would imagine that some have done it successfully though, so hopefully they chime in!

That's long-shot guess! Definitely don't quote me on that though - I could be wrong, and I was married 2.5 years ago! (wowsers)
  9. is this your first cycle charting? i think it is (sorry, i am just getting into this thread late in the game!). but there is nothing really for FF to base that prediction on if it's your first cycle - temping only tells you once you have ovulated, not when you will. KWIM? so unless you're really strict about charting the CM and other signs (like O pains) it's really tough to predict when you will O unless you've established a regular pattern.
  10. I just posted a link to Jessica's wedding photos in the 1st post (well, the teasers anyway!). Enjoy! Here is the link ... las caletas wedding photography | Destination Wedding Photography Blog, Los Angeles Wedding Photographer, Orange County Wedding Photographers
  11. I only use FF's free membership as well. I did the paid membership with Gwen, but pretty sure I don't need the additional services since I pretty much just record my temps. I usually have 30-32 day cycles but tend to O on day 17-19, not as early as day 14. So your body is more accurate than any calendar that just takes averages. Also, I could never rely on my CM ... never seems consistant enough, or maybe I wasn't observant enough.
  12. You could check out the PV section of the forum ... accomodations and sites. P.S. I corrected your typo!
  13. we thought about it, but we got the fire dancers ... MUCH more "bang for your buck" (excuse the pun). people see fireworks all of the time. not the case with fire dancers! but if you're not getting the fire dancers, i can see the fire works being a pretty cool send off, but i don't know any details!
  14. I've closed and moved this thread to the appropriate sub-forum. You may want to check this thread out ... http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...-photos-33890/
  15. perhaps it matters in some way - like maybe cost of transportation, etc.? can you tell them you're undecided?
  16. i wanted both my mom and dad - i walked down part of the way, met my dad at the top of the steps, he walked me down the steps, and then we met my mom and the 2 of them walked me the rest of the way (they are divorced). maybe something like that will work?
  17. welcome! have you checked out our DIY sub-forum? DIY Forum - Best Destination Wedding Forum ~ The Ultimate Destination Wedding Resource or perhaps the invitiations area: Invitations, STDs, photos & website - Best Destination Wedding Forum ~ The Ultimate Destination Wedding Resource or something like this? http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...tds-more-48193
  18. I get a lot of results when doing a search for either of those names. I'd suggest starting there (doing a search). You can also check out the DR sub-forums and/or the Vendor section (which is where I moved this thread to, btw).
  19. I see you've found the "main" Caletas thread ... welcome!
  20. Quote: Originally Posted by Alohachik3 Also - has anyone done a cruise and gotten married and had to get back onto the cruise ship? Does the time constraint work out? First of all, WELCOME! I am the one that keeps a master list of the Caletas weddings, and only have Jaime+Brandon written down as someone that's doing a cruise. They are getting married in Oct. of 2010 though, but I'm sure you could ask some questions! Also, Ms. Havasu might also be doing a cruise + Caletas. What I'd suggest is doing a search in the "original" LC thread (there is a link to it in the first post of this thread, at the bottom) for "cruise" to see anyone else that may have done a cruise wedding at Caletas. Also, there are some links to pictures in the first post as well - there are TONS more out there, but I'm trying to gather them all in this one thread! You could search thread titles for "Caletas" in this sub-forum, as well as the wedding reviews sub-forum and probably find some more. Good luck!
  21. I just wanted to add to my review ... my little clutch bag is totally falling apart! The diaper bag is fine, and that gets a ton more use and rougher use at that, so not sure why the clutch is falling apart. I know that she said the clutch isn't something she normally makes, so maybe she didn't know how strong to make it or something - but I wanted to share that with ya'll!
  22. and I do see that you were able to post a new thread successfully, as well as at least 5 other posts, so again, i am confused as to what issues you're having. perhaps you had provided those in the emails, but I don't have access to those.
  23. Can you please provide details on what you're trying to do. I don't know what you mean by posting on "someone else's page" since we really don't have "pages" on this forum. And where are you trying to post on the forum? If you could provide me w/your steps that would greatly help. Thanks!
