I found the resort somewhere....looked at Trip advisor, found hardly any negative comments (RARE) and for some reason I just got a feeling that it was right......I don't know. It may change as I get more info but for right now I'm REALLY excited! OMG - I think we're marrying the same man. He felt that way (the Spring Break thing) about Mexico, and very strongly about Puerto Vallarta in particular. I was like "fine, then YOU find a location." The more he read and the more I learned on this forum and shared with him, the better he felt.
  2. would she be able to provide a list of the items being served? both for the dinner and appetizers during cocktail hour? are you getting that from her or are you just going with the labels she provides.
  3. ************************************************* I've just returned from Puerto Vallarta where my son and his fiancee got married. Most of us stayed at a beachfront hotel called Playa Fiesta; in fact we had the hotel to ourselves. I would recommend this hotel and its staff in a heartbeat. From the moment you arrive till the minute you leave, their aim is to please and indeed they did. My son's wedding reception, held also at the hotel, was absolutely magical. I strongly suggest you get in touch with Adam and Lindsay who own the hotel at Welcome to Playa Fiesta . Incidentally, Lindsay is also a wedding co-ordinator. Good Luck with your wedding. *************************************************
  4. Welcome! You're not late at all - I didn't decide on a location until like Nov. 2006 and I am getting married in June 2007. I think there's a bride on here somewhere that is going to plan her wedding in just a few months. It can definitely be done - especially with us here to help you! Let us know what you need help with - and we'll do our best.
  5. OMG - Janet, you just reminded me. I had a dream about you last night! (ok, creepy). But you and I had the same personal trainer, but our personal trainer was getting married so we had the week off, and we were both so excited. And there was some drama around her FI or something, but I don't remember the details. Why you were in the dream, I have no idea. And why we were seeing a personal trainer, again, no idea - I used to see one, along time ago, but I don't anymore! (hmmmm, maybe I should?)
  6. I wish I would have thought of that - Paul's family is soooo Irish, it would have been a fun idea!
  7. A friend of mine has 2 thinner bands like that on each side of her ring. I think it looks great - but she said it's hard to get all rings on and off so just make sure to size them right!
  8. Right - and they also need to plan for childcare if they're not bringing the kids. I have a friend w/2 small kids and she is bringing her in-laws to PV to watch the kids - I LOVE that idea, since I am as excited to have her kids in PV with us as I am to see them.

I am not surprised that you can get good quality online, I just would be hestiant to order w/o knowing for sure that the site is legit. I will write down the sites you ladies suggested so I know the reputable places!
  10. I'm not opposed to ordering online (I may save that link!), but I need to figure out what size I'd want/need first. I guess that's an obvious point! That's pretty much what I am looking for, except princess diamonds since my e-ring diamonds are princess.
  11. I am hoping to have fun doing it - I am so shy that I think I will be a little nervous at first (not sure that's the right word though, skittish maybe - lol). I was thinking about it last night though, and I have NO idea what Paul's reaction will be. I honestly think he might laugh! Mainly because he'd be so surprised that I'd do something like this.
  12. I like the idea of 3/4 around too - if you could post a picture, that would be great, Edyta! Paul really likes the plain band - no diamonds. And I like it too for some reasons - but not sure I'd ever want to wear it alone, it would be too plain, But then again, not sure I will ever take my e-ring off! I'd love to find a store where I could try on all styles - I'd get a better idea that way. I've tried on some here and there, but not all at once, and never in the right style or size. Maybe Tiffany's is the best place to try that.
  13. I haven't made a decision unfortunately, but I was leaning towards eternity until I thought about some of the comments you ladies have made! I was first thinking it would be nice to have diamonds all the way around so I never have to worry about it turning or being lined up, and also it would be pretty on it's own if I didn't wear my e-ring for some reason. But maybe it's not the best idea? I don't know! I do think I need to go try on all styles and decide what I like best.
  14. Good point. I have a handful of links for customized clothes, but has anyone already done anything like this that can vouch for quality or sizing? Dang, this is bad, I just hijacked my own thread!
  15. So does anyone know of a good place to go in Chicago where I can try on a lot of different options? I think I just need to try them on to decide. The shop where we got my e-ring doesn't have many options. Oh, and if there are any more opinions out there ... please share!
  16. Welcome Trish! I will be having my honeymoon in Hawaii, but haven't really started that planning at all. Hopefully we can help eachother out some!
  17. The naked thing isn't for "fun" as much as it is I just hate getting tangled up in all those pjs! I hear ya - I need to make a run to VS as well. I was thinking some boy shorts that say "future Mrs ... " on them or something - not sure if that would be too cheesy or not.
  18. Ok, I do think I might have something in a drawer somewhere, but Paul's never seen me in it for sure. It's weird - I typically sleep naked (TMI? lol) but I feel silly wearing that stuff. So Sarah - when he says "VS stuff" does that help, I just think they even have so many options how do you know what to pick? I guess you obviously have a better idea of what your man likes when it comes to that stuff! I am scolding myself right now ... so bad.
  19. Lenita - I hope you can make it! Ok, so just out of curiosity I asked Paul last night ... "If you could dress me up in something sexy, what would you do?" I ask weird questions all of the time, so he'd suspect nothing. Anyway, he said "something sporty" - which I knew he's say, but I wanted to know what he meant, so I asked. He said "I dont' know, like a surfer chick, like board shorts or something." EXCUSE ME? lol How is THAT sexy? Anyway - Leigh, it looks like we need to head over to Lake Michigan, and get me on a surfboard or something. Good golly. I think I will skip that, especially in Feb., and try to find something else with a "sporty" feel to it. I am defiitely thinking some boy shorts underwear for some of the shots - and then maybe some fun lingerie. Not sure what else.
  20. thanks SO much for posting - i am definitely getting these! they're inexpensive, cute, and practical!
  21. Welcome - I wish I had a friend like you that was totally into helping me plan! I am so not a planner by nature - I just like to be told where to be and when. Let us know how we can help!
  22. Welcome, Brandy - you can relax, you'll totally be able to pull this off - and we'll help. The first step is to decide on a location and date - what kind of wedding do you wnat to have? Small, large? Beach, church, gazebo? At a resort, or other kind of site? Once you get the location and date, I'd suggest looking at photographers since the good ones book up fast. Let us know what you're looking for, and we will help!
