So for the ladies that are doing this, either in Chicago w/Leigh, or somewhere else, when do you plan on giving the pictures to you FI? The day of the wedding, either yourself or having them delivered by a girlfriend? Before you leave for your DW? When you get back? I can't decide! It would be kind of fun the morning of the wedding, but then you have to bring them to Mexico (or where ever).

Wedding Card for future Husband

Maybe just start thinking back to the time you met, and just talk about some of your favorite times with him ... -

We booked Scott Parsons months ago and have had plenty of contact with him since over the phone and on the internet. We had sent him the ceremony that we had written a week before we left for Cabo so he was well aware of the time and day of our wedding. Our wedding planner (Tara from Sunset Weddings wonderful by the way!) had been trying to get ahold of him for a few days and heard nothing. The wedding day rolls around and he is nowhere in sight. He never showed. So we had to find a new minister within an hour who turned out to be absolutly fantastic!!! But because of him, our wedding didn't start on time and we had to push it back almost two hours. We had to pay all the catering staff overtime hours which added up to alot!!!! The mariachis could only stay an hour because of another engagement, so my husband and I totally missed them completely because we had to take pictures before the sun went down, which we also didnt want to do because we didnt want to see eachother before the wedding but we had no choice. Two days later on Monday a letter is dropped off at the hotel by Scott Parsons basically apologizing and saying that he had a high fever and was delerious and thought our wedding was on Sunday instead of Saturday. But he never did show up on Sunday for the wedding that he "thought" was that day, and we could not get ahold of him for days before the wedding either. He was not in the hospital or anything either. So pretty much...he forgot. I love all you girl and hope that you love your wedding as much as I loved mine (even with this), and I would never want this to happen to anyone else. If you want my advice, DONT BOOK HIM, and if you already have booked him CANCEL!!! Thank god there was another minister who was able to get there in time or even at all! Please take my adivce I don't want anyone else to go through this. Danielle Incontro Wow, Danielle, that's really too bad. It sounds like you have a great attitude about all of this, but that's still awful. And then to lie about it all is even worse, IMHO. Thnaks so much for sharing this with future brides!

Bridesmaid Picking Advice

We decided that since we are already going against the norm with having a DW, we are going to ask my sister to stand on my side and Aaron's sister to stand on his. We do not plan on having a big elaborate ceremony or anything, but does anyone have suggestions of what I can have my cousin and my best friend do because I would like to include them somehow. I feel so bad with my cousin because she had asked her mom (my aunt) if she thought I would ask her to be in my wedding and then stated that she really hoped I asked. We have been very close growing up and if I was having a bigger ceremony/wedding party at a traditional wedding she would be a BM for sure. Maybe you can involve your cousin in something important, like giving her a task to make her feel needed and a part of your wedding day. In MN, and I know this isnt' the case everywhere, the bride typically has a personal attendant - she's responsible for making sure the bride has everything she needs on teh wedding day, and thinking of things the bride may forget - like extra bobbypins in case her hair falls, stuff like that. -
That is so awesome of your FI - what a catch! I am sure his support will make all of the difference. Just take it day by day ... and the pounds will start falling off.

speaking of pics, when are you going to post some? i feel like i know you - and i love putting a face to a name! let me know if you need help, or want to send me pics to post (of yourself, dresses, shoes, bags, ANYTHING!) - and i can resize and send them back. -
I think Jackie (the girl who posted this review) probably grabbed it from TripAdvisor or another wedding forum. SHe's the moderator on the forum for this area, and does a great job of gathering info and posting it for the other brides. She'd absolutely be able to help you out with some of your questions, but you read right - she's still in the planning stages of her wedding!

Sorry, the sarcasm is a NY thing. But seriously, I would sooner die than walk into anyone's wedding uninvited (I refuse to even go over people's home's unless I am directly invited by the host and not by a third person). Honestly I have such a serious job that I don't take life too seriously and that is why I am always joking that I am going to crash all your weddings. But don't worry I'm not going to embarass anyone like that. LOL. (BTW I know you and everyone else knew I was kidding). -Glenda Sorry, I've already counted you in on my final headcount for the wedding. You have to come now, or it would be rude. Besides, who's going to hold my purse? We all know you're kidding - but I do think it would be a blast to be able to attend some of the weddings of the girls on thsi site - I feel like we've all been so involved in eachothers planning, it would be great to see it all come together! Oh, and I have a reputation for being a HUGE smartass - no worries! -

This kind of stuff doesn't bother me b/c I'm pretty friendly and if someone came up to my wedding (even if they were weird) I would still welcome them and my motto is the more the merrier. I think it would be hysterical! -Glenda well, that makes sense now. since you're the one crashing everyone's wedding! i'd rather not have joe from room 480 sitting next to me at my reception dinner, but if he's walking around in the background at my welcome dinner - i can handle that! -

I have never been good at it - so we'll see how it goes. Since I am on the road so much, it's hard to find a place to go - I guess unless I find a place to go where I can pay by the session - monthly memberships just don't make sense for me. Carrying the videos with me just make it more accessible, no matter where I am. You should see me in the hotel room doing my Cindy Crawford videos that are playing on my laptop - it's quite the scene.

I remember seeing a clutch when shopping w/a girlfriend in MN - she's getting married in May - I may have to stop by that store again. They had the cutest things, but I hadn't even bought my dress yet, so I wasn't ready to buy. They had some great purses, flowers for your hair, jewelry, etc. I'll be there next weekend, maybe I will find something.

Welcome to the site - I hope we're able to help you with the rest of your planning!

lol - you made me giggle! if i do wear color, it would be an aqua blue. but initally i was looking for jewelry that had almost an antiquey look to it, but i haven't bought any yet. Here's a link to my dress - Wedding dresses and planning advice | Brides.com - it's in ivory so if I don't do color, I'd like ivory. The insulin is the size of a large (fat) pen - so nothing too huge. If you see anything, take a pic and let me know - you're awesome! If the attorny thing doesn't work out - you can be our designated DW shopper!

Does anyone have a good Yoga or Pliates (I'd love both) video that they'd recomend? I'd like to add a little variety to my Cindy Crawford workout! The only one I can think of that I've heard consistant good things about is Windsor.

What floor do you work on - maybe you can walk upstairs? Also, while sitting at your desk, or whatever you're doing, I read that clenching your abs once every hour for 20 sec. can make a diff. The cardio is a different matter - but like Kate said, maybe get up 30 min earlier and be sure to do it on weekends.

undergarment question
LCBride2007 replied to *JillD*'s topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
I think I am going to have them sew in cups when I have my dress altered. And that's all I'd wear (on top anyway!). I'm about a C cup - that will be enough, won't it? -
If anything I'd give it to my mom to hold (either my purse or insulin), I won't have any bridesmaids! We're actually not getting married at our hotel either, and it's a 45 min. trip by boat to our ceremony. I can get a little panicy when I don't have my insulin and/or blood sugar monitor - but I may be able to part w/the latter for an evening - the insulin I don't have a choice! Seriously - I should bedazzle it - that would be hilarious!

I think I want to find a smallish handbag for the wedding day. Did you married gals have one? I think I'd like one, just for the essentials - if for nothing else than I need to carry my insulin around (or maybe I should just decorate my insulin with crystals!). Since my dress is pretty simple, ivory, and does have some beading - that's kind of what I am looking for. Does anyone have a suggestion for an online place, or a store in Chicago? I don't want to spend a ton of money on this, since I likely won't use it again! If you have one, and can share a picture - I'd love to see 'em! FYI: this is the site that got me thinking of this purchase! The most dyeable white bridal purses and wedding handbags for the bridal party
