  1. Welcome to the forum, Jill! It seems this site is attracting more photographers every day! There are some ladies on this site who still haven't booked a photographer for their destination wedding - maybe you can work something out.
  2. Are you heading to Dreams at all? I am guessing not - but if you do, I'd love to see some pictures of the outdoor areas where one might hold a welcome dinner. Oh, and any great places (restaurants, shops, etc.) you go, be sure to let us know so we can suggest them to our guests. Thanks for checking with us!

  4. I may be in the minority here, but the cost wasn't even something that crossed our minds when deciding to have a DW. Not that we have all the money in the world to throw around, but I am just saying that that wasn't the reason we wanted to have a DW. We just wanted to go away and get married on the beach - that just really appealed to us, and who we are. My point is that I have no idea what it would have costed to get married in the US (either Chicago or MN) becuase we never considered it!
  5. oh - perfect! it sounds like they have quite a few different musical options to select from.
  6. you're making me cry - TLC was on at my house all of the time, even if i wasn't watching it, it was great background "noise." but Paul doesn't have cable ... grrrr as for the scale - i do try to avoid those if i can. instead i try to go by how my clothes are fitting me. scales aren't all bad - but if they don't produce the numbers you're wanting to see, it can be pretty discouraging!
  7. for more ideas, I found this older thread too - http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t1039
  8. nope - and i probably won't be able to all weekend, other than soccer on Fri night. i am staying at a friends house in MN all weekend - we're house shopping all day tomorrow. hmmmm, that's a lot of walking ...
  9. why not do all the colors! brown, pink, blue, green ... lol - why decide, I didn't!? here are my STDs - i got large magnets from vista print STD (15).pdf
  10. i haven't heard anything about this one - but some girls have definitely had positive experiences with online stores.
  11. Ok, here's what Nicole had to say - I hope this helps! Hey there! I actually work with a music rep agency who contracts their musicians out to many venues. You can recommend them to the bride if you want. The website is enlace.com . The man in charge is Carlos and you can contact him through the email address on the website. They are wonderful and contract many different types of musicians. I hope that helps!

  15. Going to work out w/Cindy right now ... must ... get ... off...the... computer ...
  16. Welcome, Amy! Tammy (host) definitely pointed you in the right direction so far. Are you still considering Las Caletas? There are a bunch of brides on here that are getting married there this month (Ali just got back!), so they can help with those questions as well. I am using Leigh Miller, she's from S. Cal so she's flying in to PV for my wedding. If you do choose Las Caletas they have a handful of local photographers to choose from, FYI (they also have many music options). Here is a thread to read as well. http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t1528 http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t1729 Here's a thread on PV Restaurants w/some ideas: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t2339 I'd suggest nosing around the PC section to see what sparks your interest. Let us know if you need help!
  17. wow - that was a productive day! congrats on checking off some big items
  18. I believe Las Caletas offers that - I will ask who they use. Worth a shot anyway.
  19. When I contacted them, here is what they had to say ... Here is some brief information on us. We are a husband and wife photography team, we are your photographers, we do not send anyone else to take your photos. I spend the day with the girls, while he hangs with the guys. We will both shoot the wedding and reception from different perspectives. We love to have a good time and our goal is to make sure that the bride and groom are relaxed and get the photos that they want. This includes ALL day wedding coverage. From getting ready until cake cutting, first dances and flower/garter toss. You will receive all of your photos on a high resolution photo CD or DVD and the "printing rights". You and your families & friends will have access from your CD/DVD to all of your images to be able to print any quantity and enlarge or crop any of the photos to your liking. We will also provide you with a wedding photos page on our website so you can easily share your photos with family and friends over the Internet. We always try to get as many photos as possible of the couple, family and guests so that no detail of the special day can be missed. There is no limit on the number of photos that we take; and you will also receive 100 4x6 prints in a small album. I am also offering my destination brides a "honeymoon photo shoot" on a day either before or after your wedding. My thought is this, you are in this beautiful place with the love of your life and while the wedding photos are amazing, it seems that couples might be a little more relaxed and able to be more at ease after the wedding. So if you do book us for your wedding we will do a "honeymoon" shoot, included in your package, if you would like. You are not under any obligation. So far everyone has been excited about it.You can see some of the examples in the slide-shows below. For 2007 we will also be offering a variety of coffee table books and albums for an additional cost depending on what you would like us to design. Their package price started just under $4000 for Puerto Vallarta.
  20. YAY! Welcome, Katherine - I got your message, and we're glad you found this site. Just start nosing around, and you'll get the hang of it soon enough - and always feel free to ask questions! Here are a couple threads to get you started. You may have already seen them, I am just catching up on all the posts from this evening. http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t1775 http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t1304 http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t2216 We have 3 January Las Caletas brides (17th, 19th, and 27th) and then one on Valentines Day. You should be able to get all sorts of questions answered. I am getting married there June 8th - not too long after you. Let us know how we can help, all of the Las Caletas brides as well as all the brides on this forum are very helpful (and knowledgeable - about all sorts of things!).
  21. awesome! everything looks so beautiful. thanks ali - i don't mean to be a pest, i am just so excited to hear (and see!) everything. on your table setup, the last pic, are those linens and runners provided by nicole? i think that's all i'd need. did you have menus on the table at the dinner? i can't quite tell what those are. did you do anything like fireworks, fire dancers, etc.? as for the video, i know rebecca shared it somehow, but i am not sure how. don't feel like you have to for our sake, but if you wanted to post it for people to access, she might be able to help.
