Sure are! We're all a little nervous I think, but it turned into a fun little event I think. Leigh Miller has rented a studio in Chicago, and is going to take some sexy shots of us (we hope!). Not evey bride will want to do this, but it can't hurt to offer. And honestly, not every bride is aware of this option, so offering it to her may give her the idea for a fabulous surprise gift for him.

That's what I expected too - a little dove poop on the camera. Not so much! I'd be mortified if it happened at all, let alone if the picture was floating around the internet!

I know some of you were looking for ceremony to perform at your wedding. Just be careful of this one! My mom just sent me an email with this, and all she said was, "Ann, let’s skip the doves, O.K.?" I haven't called them, but the place I am thinking of is Roots Hair Salon (http://www.rootshair.com/). Ok, I just called and their makeup girl isn't there that Fri. morning (I really should have called sooner!). But I asked if she'd be willing to come to the studio to do makeup, and she said it's a possibility and she was going to have this girl (Jackie) call me. She will need to know how many girls, (has the th girl revealed herself yet?), and if we want hair and/or makeup. What do you all think? Or does anyone have a suggest for somewhere else to try? I will let you know more if I hear from her, but also let me know what you're all thinking.

I did the same thing this weekend! I am not 100% sure if this is what I will wear, but I stopped in the White House | Black Market store and saw this on the clearance rack - it was about $60, and their last one - so I just got it. I figured it was classic enough that if I didn't wear it for the WD, I could hopefully wear it again somewhere else. And I have exceeded my limit for hosting files - so I am doing an attachment instead! Is there another way to post a pic w/o "hosting" it? WD Dress.doc

lol - the tough part is all of my "friends" here are really his friends. I never go out with the girls here, because "my" girls are all in MN. I think I am going to tell him that I am getting together with some of my forum friends who are all getting their pictures taken with Leigh. I think this will work for a couple reasons, 1) we will all have met this weekend, so it might be natural that you all invited me to stop by when you're getting your pictures done. 2) we have our engagement photos being taken the next day with Leigh, so this way I won't have to hide the fact that I've already met Leigh. 3) i am such a horrible liar that I'd be so afraid of saying something like "yesterday when you did this ... " or something, this way it will all make sense. Got it? lol He knows I am thinking of a surprise gift for him - but I highly doubt he'd ever guess I'd do something like this. I will totally share some of the photos with you all - let's just hope they turn out alright! Sarah - I will call the place tomorrow and see what they say about appts. - good luck getting the day off!

Just checking in! I actually went to VS with Paul this past weekend, and had him pick out a little something for me to wear. He really likes the simple, classic stuff - no prints (neither of us really like animal prints), lace, fluff, etc. Is anyone bringing a white t-shirt or anything for that whole athletic or wet t-shirt look? I definitely don't have any sexy boots or anything to wear, all my sexy shoes are in storage, but I will see what I can come up with. I am thinking of making an appt. to get my makeup done the morning of the shoot - I think you siad you're getting your hair done, Lenita. I haven't decided on hair - but I am stuck. I don't know yet what I will tell Paul about where I am going, but if I spend any time on my hair, he may wonder. Heck, he may just wonder when I shower in the morning! I am just afraid of someone else doing my hair - I don't want to look like a glamour shot girl!

First of all, welcome! If you look to the right on that site, there are a list of the photographers. Many of them are being used my girls on this site - Leigh Miller is my photographer. Also, here is a thread with a good starting list of photographers. If you search around on this forum, you will find other photographers as well. Ok, can't find the threat I am looking for, but I will keep searching ...

I have to agree with most of you - I'd advise not going into debt to pay for your wedding. If you can't save enough, maybe try cutting some of the items to bring the cost down to what you can afford. I also automatically save $$ every month - I have it going both into an ING account and a brokerage account (let me know if you want me to refer you to ING, then we both get a few extra $$ for the referral!). ING is basically a savings account that earns higher interest than normal (4% maybe). That's where Paul saved $$ for my ring! Anyway, if the $$ goes into savings automatically, you can't spend it, and you won't miss it and the savings will accumulate. As for how we do it, I've lived on my own and owned a home since I was a year out of college - at 23. It's so doable! You just have to be smart about your money. I realize that people's expenses and income vary, but in most cases it's a lot easier to own than people think (avoid renting if you can!). Paul and I own his condo here in Chicago, and we just bought a house in MN. We plan on renting this condo out (anyone looking in Chicago)?! lol

Wow - this sounds like fun! I am sure you can pull something like this off -the trick might be to make it a legal ceremony, since the paperwork can be a little tricky. I am making mine legal in the US, so I don't have a ton of advice there, but some girls might. I'd definitely contact the wedding coordinator at the resort and tell her what you'd like to do - she should be able to help. Also, the Cabo brides on here should be able to offer more tips as well. Let us know how it turns out!
