  1. Since I totally hijacked the other thread (sorry!), I decided to move these to a new thread. I really am wondering what all this means, and if it's a good deal or not. I don't even know if I know enough to ask my WC intelligent questions! Thanks for the feedback so far, Amanda (umm, it IS Amanda, right? - lol)
  2. Welcome, Amanda! I LOVE the carribean, but since we wanted to honeymoon in Hawaii, it was just too far away. Paul and I vacationed in St. Kitts and LOVED it - I think that's where we would have gone. It's not as touristy yet - but that's part of the charm. We stayed at the Marriott there - beautiful! Let us know how we can help - there are a couple Jamaica brides on here I think.
  3. It's tough to tell, since I think we all hired our photographers for the reception as well. In my opinion that's when you get the best pictures - when every's having fun and relaxed! But again, that's just my opinion - I want my photog with me the entire evening. And since you have to take a boat to leave - I don't think she has a choice (ha! sorry, Leigh) I think most of the married girls will tell you to get him for longer, I think 5 to 6 hours minimum.

LOL. -Glenda That looks like it would be sooo comfy to wear (and a little forgiving, if you know what I mean!). I see there are some stores in Chicago that sell them - let me know if you need me to do some digging.
  5. you could also just pick a designer and/or a color - and let them pick the style.
  6. Not at all - I am not having BMs, but if I were I don't think I'd care either. I was probably going to just let them pick with they wanted - with a little guidance on my part. My sis would have been my MOH - and she won't wear a dress anyway - she said my last wedding was the last time she would wear a dress. At the time, I didn't think I'd ever need her to again! Oh well. lol
  7. Oh it totally helped me see what their different dining options were at Dreams PV - something I couldn't get from the WC, that's for sure! Now I just sent her an email asking specifically if either the Seaside Grill or Oceana Terrace were available for my WD. Let's hope she responds better to direct questions!
  8. FI doesn't want a video, but I can probably talk him into it - I just wasn't sure if I wanted one either. But I think I do. I don't need the best quality videographer - and I think I can get it for a decent price. Also, I think I am ok with just getting the ceremony recorded. Here is what the Las Caletas package offers - let me know what you think about this. Since I am an idiot when it comes to this stuff, am I to assume that you pay $575 for the videographer, then the additional amounts to add on those services? In english, what am I getting for the $575 - just raw footage? Keep in mind that it might be a little more expensive since anything I want has to be taken over on the boat to Las Caletas! ----------------------------------------------------------- Professional Wedding Videography A beautiful way to share the love and romance of your wedding day with friends and family back home, your wedding video will be recorded digitally on VHS in either NTSC or PAL format. 9. Now I just pictured being able to show my kids the day their mommy and daddy got married - now I want one, for sure!

  11. Agree with Tammy - I had one for my first wedding and didn't watch it much. But at the same time - it was nice to have if you ever DID want to watch it. And another good point - w/a DW some people may not be able to make it and it would be fun for them to watch the video. And as teh bride, you miss a lot of the beginning of the ceremony since you're hiding! You miss a lot of the processional - so if you want to see that, it might be nice to have.

The ones that know they're coming respond first. It's the ones that aren't sure, or even the ones that know they're not, but maybe still hold out hope they can, that wait to respond (or just don't!).
  13. I can't wait to see how those turn out, Natalie - I bet they'll look great with those colors on the bag!
  14. lmao. jackie started it. and this coming from the queen of hijacking! (ok, i am guilty too!)

I was born in St Louis Park, and have lived in Maple Grove and/or Plymouth my entire life. FI and I are buying a house in Minneapolis, just to the southwest of Lk Harriet - we're so excited!
  16. I totally agree - you want to be working & making $$, but there are so many other things that need to get done, it's nice to have the time! As for being a bad mod - I feel like that too, but it's nice that there are so many brides on here now that someone is usually around to help and answer questions.

  18. Welcome, Shea! I am so excited to see another MN bride - I think you might be the first (or 2nd, if you count me). I was born and raised in MN, but have lived in Chicago for the past 1.5 years. My FI and I are moving to MN in a couple months though, so I will be a MN bride by the time of my wedding. Where are you from? I'll let the RM girls handle the location questions - but let us know how else we can help!
  19. Jackie - I am SOOO with you! I feel like I have so many things going on with work, wedding, house hunting/moving, trying to rent this place ,trying to find health insurance (long story!), and just life in general. I had to apologize to my friends this past weekend for being a bad friend - I've been MIA! When do you start your new job?
  20. Tammy - thanks for reminding me to ask ... do most all jewlers do custom work? Or do I need to go somewhere special?
  21. I can't add much to help here - everyone has made some great points. I don't think a low price alone means she's bad - maybe she's just trying to get into DW photography. I've seen some great photogs that were offering deals just to build their portfolio - it works out great for everyone! Everyone has to start somewhere - even the best of the best. I will say though, if you're not comfortable with her, that's the biggest thing - YOU need to like what you're paying for!

  23. Sarah - great job. I am such a visual person, I love seeing it all put together like that! Now it has me wanting to do the photo frame enterpiece as well. I was hoping to keep this simple, stop giving me great ideas!
  24. Me too - until I realized I haven't been playing, so I looked. I think someone mentioned the lottery in a post and it reminded me.
  25. You inspired me - I just order my OOT bags from Cheap Totes! Is that where you got your black bags from? I really wish they showed all of their colors - but I just went with natural.
