  1. yea, do you like it? i am really thinking of getting #1 - i love it! thanks for letting me steal your idea. i did buy a dress at Nordstroms last weekend too - it was all white, but had this great style to it that totally reminded me of Mexico. and Paul loved it too - so i had to get it! i will totally get use out of both dresses - i'm not worried!

Well, yes i do- I'll be at Dreams on Valentines Day having fun with my sweetie. But, anyway- you know what I mean- picture junkie that I am! Leigh is going to be so busy with all of the shoots she did this past week, I wouldn't be surprised if they won't be ready right away ... and I know she has to get Lenita's ready first, since she's getting married so soon! And I don't want to hear any complaining - we're all stuck here (or well, I am stuck here) in the cold yucky weather!
  3. I hear ya - I am soooo ready for a tropical vacation, I'm not sure I can wait for June.
  4. Welcome, Heather! Where are you from in MN? I was born & raised there, and lived there until 2005 - but now FI and I are moving back there, to Minneapolis. Anyway - let us know how we can help you! There are quite a few Cancun brides on here. Your wedding date isn't that far away!
  5. Welcome, Lee! Are you wanting to get married this July? I think you can totally do it - you just might need to be flexible on your date, I'd guess that most of the weekend dates are booked. There are so many Cabo brides here, and many that got married at Dreams - you should have no problem getting some of your questions answered here. Take a look at the Cabo section here, and you might find some of your questions already answered there. Let us know how we can help!
  6. Welcome, Theresa - glad to have you! I am getting married at Las Caletas, but am staying at Dreams PV and having my welcome dinner there too. I see you've found some of the Dreams PV threads - so just let us know if we can help you in any way!
  7. I know - we got such a variety of shots, I can't wait to see them. We got the botanical gardens in the greehouse type setting, the Navy Pier ones w/the city in the background, the "beach" (covered in snow) w/Lake Michigan in the background, Starbucks, and I think there were even more ... !
  8. I know - I think we wore Leigh out! Hopefully she was able to have a little r&r time with her friend she was visitng in Chicago.

That's the true sign of success too - not as much what the scale says, but more how the cloths fit! Congratulations!
  10. Welcome, Melissa - how is the planningn going, do you have some last minute items to take care of still? You must be so excited! Let us know if we can help at all.
  11. that's a good point. since i am only doing a dinner - not my whole wedding - i can be a little more flexible. i'd totally want detailed answers so i could plan accordingly - this is your main event!
  12. It was fun, for sure! Poor Leigh was working all weekend - but hopefully she had some fun as well. After all that talk about Mexican yesterday, Leigh, Paul and I had to get some for dinner last night .... mmmmmmmm.
  13. if you would have told me i'd have fun being 90% naked in front of 4-6 women I had never met, I'd think you were crazy! But I did. When I came home w/the fake eyelashes - Paul freaked out! He's like, I can't talk to you with those things on! Hopefully he doesn't notice them in the pics! And he asked why I had my suitcase with me - I was like, "I had to hide something, stop asking questions." But there was no way I could explain the pillows I had with me, so I left them in the trunk of the car (we're sharing one right now). I knew we'd need to open the trunk that next day. So when he was in the shower I ran to the garage (which is down the block, of course) and got the pillows. He never was the wiser! Ahhh the things we do ...

  15. it was a black history month celebration at the gardens, so there was this great "Flag Core" type show, so fun to watch. leigh thought it would make a great picure w/the flags, but we just couldn't sneak in there w/o jumping on stage with them! but the gardens and fountains were great - i can't wait to see the pictures either!
  16. Tammy - I just PM'd you some questions - i started to post here, but realized it was a little off topic.
  17. lol. well, since it is just plain ol' freezing here we both just had on jeans and a sweater. we went down to Navy Pier and took some photos in the botanical gardens (all glassed in), then went and took some outside there with different backgrounds. we also went to the lakeshore and walked/played in the snow. of course we had to stop in a Starbucks - partially to warm up, and partially to shoot some cute coffee shop shots. poor Leigh's hands were freezing because she constantly had them outside working w/the camera! at one point we were shooting something w/paul's sunglasses on, and getting a shot of the reflection - and i had to stop breathing so i wouldn't fog up the reflection it was so cold out! Leigh has soooo many things to work on from this weekend - not sure when we'll see these pics, i can't remember. but there will be so many pictures from her in the next few weeks, between the b-pics and our engagement shots, you should get your fix!
  18. Leigh was such a trooper trekking around in the cold Chicago weather to take our pictures! We alternated between inside and outside shots so we could all thaw out between backdrops. I'll share them when I can - but I am so excited to see them!
  19. ahhh yes, but honestly if i knew that i could plan it all in the last month, and not "lose out" on something because i waited that long, i'd be ok with that. i'd just hate to say "i wish i would have done this eariler." you think i should let things go until early May?
  20. is there any way that Amy can contact the GM to let him/her know about the problems she's having? i will say she was more complete with answers to me (not 100% sure that she knows i am the bride working w/Tammy), but her response time still leaves a little to be desired. if I were doing this alone, w/o Tammy, I probably would have given up on Dreams altogether and gone somewhere else. and if I were the GM there, I'd want to know that they were losing business because of Marilu.

For those of you still debating, I would definitely recommend it. It was, in a sense, liberating. I think having other girls there actually helped because we were able to use everyone's ideas, and shoes, clothes, etc. So much fun! I totally agree, Lenita, especially about it the other girls being there making it easier and more fun. Mainly because I wore Lenita's shoes, Tina's boots, Leigh's underwear and see through shirt, and who knows what else!? And anything Tina did made me say .. "I want to do that too!" But seeing other girls looking so great that are just as shy as me scaling a brick wall and posing naked in front of a window made me think ... "If she can do it, I can do it too!" Trust me, if you're thinking about it, do it! Let me (or more likely Leigh) know if you need help finding a photographer. It was a blast!
  22. I think just based on the positive reviews that Dreams has had, and I figured for 1 night out of the week people wouldn't mind heading out to a different area. I think it might be more than a 10 min. ride - but I am not sure how long. I will dig through my emails from Nicole, I might have it in there. But we liked the area that Dreams was in - we didn't want to be in the Marina area, or even the downtown. But maybe you do - and that would be closer. We also wanted an all-inclusive, and thought Dreams was the best price and area for the $$ - and chose that. There are definitely other options though.
  23. i thought that by just working out a little more, i'd see results. not so much. i think i need to start watching what i eat too. my excuse is it being so hard being on the road all the time, but i know i can do it if i want to. i just need to be stronger!
