everyone has such awesome BM dresses - it almost makes me wish i had a bridal party. and i secretly wish that the wedding i am in this May had cute dresses like these - i don't really like the one i have to wear.

in my photog hunt travel was either included in the package, or if it wasn't it was typically about $1000-1500 additional - there were a couple that did just say I'd pay for the actual cost of travel and 1 room for 2 nights or something, but it seemed most just asked for a flat fee of $1000-1500 on top of the package price. Like I said though, some just build it into the package price. Juan was definitely willing to travel - so if you're interested in him, ask him how much it would cost!

Welcome! You got engaged where I will be getting married - at Las Caletas! I'd love to hear what you thought about the wedding, from a guests perspective. As a guest - what did you wish the bride & groom would have done differently - like did you say "i wish they would have told me ___" or anything? My company is holding a meeting in PR at the end of April - if I am able to, I can see if I can do any research for you! I think I'll be in San Juan - and I don't know anything about PR yet!

Hi Denise! I am getting married at Las Caletas in June 07 - so of course I am a little bit baised! But I have only been to PV once during a college spring break, and Cancun once during a spring break. Neither really count if you ask me, since all I saw was the bars, "cheap" hotel, and the beach, and I have no idea where I even stayed! I am a little nervous of the boat ride - maybe some of you girls that have already been married at Las Caletas can tell us if anyone got sick? I do plan on getting some motioin sickness meds and putting them in the OOT bags, but other than that - not sure what we can do! I will warn everyone about the boat ride in case there are any precautions they want to take themselves. We didn't want to get married at a resort either - so once we saw Las Caletas, we were sold! Let me know if you need any other help. You may also want to ask Nicole (the WC) how often people get sick - I honestly haven't heard of it happening much!

agreed - i'd talk to my friend. but there's a reason she chose it for her wedding, it's beautiful i'm sure! so i am sure she wouldn't blame you for wanting it for your wedding as well. if she seems weird at all, maybe look for another location - but i'd assume a good friend would be flattered to share a wedding location!

I was engaged in early Oct. 06, booked my site and hotel some time in late Nov/early Dec for June 8, 07. i sent out my STDs in late Dec. I think. i can't remember when you said your date was, but like TammyM said - you may have to be flexible on some things. as for your guests, i would think 4-6 mos is plenty of time - if someone isn't able to come, i can't imagine a few mos. would make much of a difference.

maybe you've already looked into this, but most of the ebay sellers are selling knockoffs, not the actual dress. but other than that - i say go for it!

yes - TammyM and I are in a post whore war! but if you want to know the truth, when i am busy and can't read all the threads (often lately!) i make sure to look for the Newbie's that i haven't welcomed yet. i remember being hesitant to post at first - so i want others to feel welcome as well. i sometimes, especially lately, have to skip over some threads that i don't think pertain to me, but i really try to get to all the newbie theads - and hopefully i haven't missed anyone!
