  1. Welcome Jacki! It sounds like you two are perfect together - a match made in heaven. Your past sounds awful ... but now you get to look forward to the future! Let us know more about what you're looking for, and maybe we can help narrow it down. Trust me, we all know what it's like to try to narrow down a location - it's soooo overwhelming at first! But I promise it will be easier with the help of all the girls here on this forum! Some things to think about ... 1) do you want an all-inclusive? 2) do you want to get married at a resort, or somewhere remote? 3) does the resort have to be adults only? or family oriented? 4) where will most of your guests be coming from? 5) how big will the wedding be? 6) do you wnat beach? gazebo? jungle? indoor? Hope this helps!

(completely silly) Not silly - I want one too! That's a good question - I am going to ask my WC. I want something to say where we had our ceremony, since that will be the date we celebrate as our wedding date.

I'm very impressed! i bought the paper at a local art store - but Paper Source had a lot of options as well. i tore it to get the rough edges, and used my printer at home. crazy - eh? i did use word to arrange the clip art and everything. the band that goes around is just more paper - i cut the strips, and glued them together. it's all very tedious - but i think i can pull it off!

  5. Me again (Ann), Marla! I loved your engagement story - I hope you do end up going with Las Caletas - I think it would be extra special for you to get married there!
  6. Welcome to the site, Gem! If a destination wedding is your dream - then I say go for it, this day should be all about the 2 of you. If a lot of people can't make it, that's too bad really, but maybe you can have a reception at home later. Let us know if we can help you!
  7. Welcome to the site, Janelle - let us know how we can help!
  8. that looks so cool! i love it! are you taking that stylist down with you, or are you just bringing the pictures to show what you want?
  9. Sarah and I have Cindy Crawford - Shape Your Body. Jill - I am getting a little bored of Cindy, you say you liked the Next Challange? Maybe I will get that one too just for a little variety.

  11. It makes a lot of sense - and I plan on rearranging a few times and posting the results for you guys to vote on! I like the pocket idea too - I may try that. It may work for Christine's invite as well.
  12. I LOVE that idea! FI doesn't like the cupcake idea, but if I had my way I'd do something like that. Check out this thread too for some ideas! http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t1029
  13. i agree - not the norm. not everyone can be like ashton & demi and bruce! lol
  14. Here are the links on eBay to see the descriptions. They both say ivory! Though the beaded one says a "peachy" color - which I don't want. eBay: VINTAGE IVORY SATIN LACE BRIDAL EVENING BAG HANDBAGS (item 250091434150 end time Mar-13-07 02:23:05 PDT) eBay: BEADED VINTAGE PURSE, CLUTCH, SWIRLS OF PEACH PEARLS (item 170088346064 end time Mar-12-07 21:52:19 PDT)
  15. Here is Tammy's info. (taken right out of my STD!): Wright Travel Agency www.wrighttravelagency.com [email protected] 888.471.1950
  16. So I've resumed my search for a smallish clutch for the wedding day. Well, I've been keeping my eyes open, but I also set up a search on eBay. Here are a couple I am "watching" - what do you think? I know the colors look off - but I am assuming/hoping it's just the pictures! The reason I picked #1 is cuz it seemed to match my dress a little w/the lace overlay:
  17. oh wow - that's so sweet! i assume Cain knows you still have a relationship with them? hopefully Cain is secure enough with you to not be threatened! and for the baby - maybe you can still visit them with the baby. a little baby can never have too many people to love it! has your ex straightened out now? is he in another relationship? that poor girl that marries him ... she will always have to live up to Tammy! lol
  18. My mom & dad are still friendly too. They don't hang out or chit-chat, but can speak and be together (usually because of us kids) without a problem. At my sister's partner's graduation recently, we actually had a great time - there were "broken" families everywhere, and no drama! lol I can never thank them enough for being "civil" to eachother and in front of us kids. They really could have done some damage. I had friends whose parent bad mouthed eachother and used the kids against eachother - and it would make me so mad!!
  19. I put to RSVP on the website in our STDs - no one did! Well, about 5 people did, and that was after we sent out a follow up email. But we also said that formal invites were to follow. Not sure if they were just waiting for those, or what.
  20. I think I am just going to throw them in there. I hope it doesn't look too unorganized! I am second guessing it all when I saw Sarah's neat, organized little pockets! lol
  21. That's awesome, Tammy. I remember you asking if they should attend and be a part of your wedding. In my mind, I find it silly when people cut off all ties when they divorce - I mean, you were close to them, loved them, etc. all for a reason - how can that just cut off? I think it's great you're still close. I don't think that just because you and your ex aren't married anymore should mean you can't have a good relationship with them still! Anyway - not sure where that came from. I am not close with my ex in-laws, but I never really was. My ex and I are still close - we work for the same company still! His current wife is due w/twins - and I plan on sending them a baby gift. I mean, our marriage didn't work out - it doesn't mean I want to never speak to him again! (can you tell I don't want to work today!?)
  22. I am using Tammy (the host of this site) as my travel agent - but she's located in the San Francisco area. She has a great relationship w/Dreams and was able to get me a great rate. Did you want a local PV agent?
  23. I obviously don't konw the details of your FSIL's relationship, current or past, but I have no problem with "old" photos of my first marriage. It was a happy time, I don't regret it, and I hope that people aren't afraid to look back to that time and remember the good parts. I don't want to pretend like it didn't happen - ya know? But I do think I might be in the minority. I don't know how many divorced girls want to see pics of their ex and all that. It's a good question. Are you comfortable asking your FSIL how she feels?
