  1. Christa, I am really uncomfortable with you posting pictures of me without my permission. Next time, please ask.
  2. as for the sash color - you can always get one made if the company doesn't provide the color you like.
  3. Ali - have you posted the video done by the guy you hired through Las Caletas? We're now thinking of doing this, and I'd love to see his work, and what the end product is like. I've seen the other videos you shared (thank you!) and they are great, but I think done by your brother. Also, did you just do the $575 package? What did you get with that, and how long was the guy there to video your wedding?

We actually want to adopt, not a baby, like an older kid around (12) and let them have an chance to make a future for themselves. That's awesome - I think the world needs more people like you and your FI! My sister wants to do something similar - adopt an older child. And she'd like to get older siblings, boys, who would otherwise be split up. It wouldn't be easy - and I admire you for wanting to do this!
  5. my favorite is #2 - hands down! that dress is just my style though, they're all beautiful. i love it with the sash - what color would you do? i love the color sash in the photo - but not sure that is your color theme. and i agree with Tammy and your friends - who cares what your dress looks like, as long and you love it and feel comfortable! i totally thought the same way about it (my dress) being "too much" for the beach at first - but in the end i wanted the dress that i wanted. done deal! anyway - tough choice - they're all great. but my favorite is #2
  6. can you just bring a CD or iPod with teh music you wnat?

I've not given them any specific songs, just asked that they play soft, low key music pre-ceremony & for the processional. Then I want them to break into full mariachi mode when we walk down the aisle after the ceremony to get the party started! I figure they've done enough weddings that they "get it"...let you know soon! LOVE LOVE LOVE this idea, I am going to steal it. i am hoping that i am ok to say "play appropriate music" for the ceremony w/o having to pick songs. unless they can give me some sample of what they play, then i can pick. but i am totally going to steal that idea of having them kick it into their festive mode for the recessional!!! i love it!

  10. lol - i hadn't thought of having a donkey. i'd probably feel so bad for it as well! and i can see Paul's friends just trying to get the donkey drunk. done. no donkey. i am really leaning towards simple as well - i just don't want boring. but you're right - we're in Mexico on vacation. how can it be boring?!
  11. Sarah - are you picking the music for the ceremony, or just letting the band do their thing? Have you been able to hear samples?
  12. oh, and i think 7pm sounds good too. it's not too early for those arriving that day, and not too late so we're up all night. and i would love to say "come down at 6:15 for cocktails before hand" for those that are interested.
  13. our dinner is at Dreams, where a majority of the guests are staying. so no add'l transportation - which is nice. this was important to us since we'll be off site for most of the following day for the wedding - we didn't want to have to go anywhere the night before. i figure people can come and go as they please, and those that want to call it an early night can, those that want to hang out late can do that as well! i just wasn't sure if i should add things (entertainment) to the WD at all. i am hoping it's not a big deal if i don't! doesn't sound like it is ...
  14. that's what i am thinking - so good to hear you're doing something similar. i want it to be pretty casual, especially since some people (my mother!) will just be getting in that afternoon. and i want people to get to know eachother and hang out - not be as focused on any entertainment. i was thinking of the cigar roller, or something though. i don't know!
  15. just by describing her, i'd guess she was about 15 - but you said she has a 5 and 7 year old, so she's obviously older. it sounds like she's quite immature and selfish. those people often end up very lonely!
  16. I am going to revive this thread, because now I am faced w/the same question ... mariachi or trio? Here's what I am thinking, and questions I have -- I like the idea of live music for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and probably even dinner. But then we'd probably get a DJ for the rest of the night. I don't know if I should get a mariachi or trio. I feel like the mariachi would be more "fun and festive" but maybe it's unnecessary. And the mariachi is a lot more expensive. Would the trio be too low key for the cocktail hour? Also, what kind of music would either of them play for the ceremony - did any of you girls or guys have a mariachi or trio for the ceremony?
  17. So I am trying to add the last few details to my invites, which include an invite to the welcome dinner the night before. I've sent Marilu an email asking her what time I can have it - I wasn't sure if there were any restrictions, etc. Of course I haven't heard back from her. I was thinking anywhere from 6:30 to 7:30, and maybe saying that there's a cocktail hour for 45 min. beforehand. I have some people that are getting in that Thurs., so I don't want it to be too early, but I also don't want it to be too late - we all need a good night sleep! For you Dreams PV gals - since I am having my WD here, any site specific knowledge you have on this would be helpful! As a follow up question, did you plan anything else for your WD other than the actual dinner? I am thinking a Mariachi band (assuming we don't do one for the wedding, this is another question I have), or fireworks, or other entertainment? I am leaning towards doing nothing - but want to make sure guests have a good time!
  18. i am SO glad i am not having an AHR. i'd play along if someone else wanted to plan it - but not me! i am so not a planner - so this wedding thing will be it for a while. i have them all stacked up and waiting on 2 things: 1) what to use as a return address? my realtor is checking w/the people we're buying our house from to make sure they don't mind if we put that address on there - since we're moving 4/6. i want to mail them now - but we're moving soon 2) if Marilu would ever get back to me and let me know my WD time - i'd be happy. this reminds me ... i'm starting a new thread for some questions i have (no hijacking!)
  19. i got most of them done this weekend - i just decided to go w/what I had and not try to tweak it any more. i need to get them done and out before we move! good luck - it's actually kinda fun once you get in to it!
