i agree - you wonder how people were raised. apparently not all kids go through "Manners 101" these days. This hasn't happened to me, but a lot of times if my wedding comes up and I fear it might - I always start off by saying "it's going to be really small, just family and a few friends." But it happened to my friend last night, though not the same situation, and not even as bad. She had someone, a cousin or something, ask "can my 3 children come to the wedding too" even though the invite was specifically for Mr & Mrs only. There was no "and Family" on the invite! I asked Marti (my friend), isn't that a little rude that they even asked? Some people just don't get it I guess!

welcome! here are some questions to think about and they'll help us find the perfect spot for you ... 1) how many people are you thinking? 2) where will most people be coming from (east coast, west coast, canada, etc.) 3) do you have a per night budget in mind? 4) are you thinking you'd like to get married on the beach, indoors, a gazebo? 5) would you like a big resort wedding, or something off site or smaller and intimate? 6) would you like to stay at an all-inclusive resort, or maybe a villa? 7) will there be children, or adults only? those should help narrow the options a little!

will the person that marries you give you some ceremonies to choose from and alter? i think that's what they do at Las Caletas - they will send me something about 2 weeks before the wedding, and i can kind of customize it.

oohh - let me know what you find out! Paul and I are honeymooning in Hawaii (Oahu and Maui) and are getting legally married while we're there. it would just be the 2 of us - we'll probably just get hitched, then have a nice dinner. and maybe hire a photog just for an hour or something (well, if I can't stuff Leigh in my suitcase)

Marla - you wanted to do all of these with a lilac sash/bow - right? I believe so - so use your imagination, instead of red picture lilac!

Marla sent me some of the dresses she liked, and I thought it would be fun to get everyone's opinions. So with Marla's permission, here are her dresses ... (all from David's Bridal). Option 1 (Style #E8052 David's Bridal - Bridal Gowns E8052 Strapless satin A-line with lace-up back and features sweep train.) - Click on the lilac color. It has a corset in the back with a band of color at the top and bottom. I could also add a lilac sash with a big bow in the back (I would just take out the small bow that is there): Option 2 (Style #H9274 David's Bridal - Bridal Gowns H9274 Satin split-back A-line with beaded cuff, hem, and inset.) - This is a new dress. Click on the lilac color. I did not try this one on. It's the most expensive one so far at $600: Option 3 (Style #PE8120 David's Bridal - Bridal Gowns PE8120 Matte satin A-line features beaded cuff with bow.) - White dress with tiny bow at top. Click the alternative view so you can see the tiny fake buttons that go all the way down the dress. I think this is John's favorite but the top doesn't stay smooth. It gets wrinkly by the armpits. I would also add a lilac bow to this one: There is also just a plain white dress that I tried on with an added purple bow. Don't have that number though.

i was doing really well when I was doing the Colonix thing - but i need to drink a lot more! on average i probably just drink a couple glasses a day.

I'm not a Dreams Cabo bride, but here are my answers ... Did you have a DJ during the reception just for dinner? Did you have a DJ during the reception for dinner and dancing? Did you have the Mexican Trio for dinner and DJ for dancing? Did you have the Mexican Trio for dinner only? i thinkwe will have a trio for the ceremony and cocktail hour, then a DJ for the rest of the evening (dinner and dance) Did you have a dance floor put in or just dance on the concrete? we will have a dancy floor on the beach (provided for us by Las Caletas planner)

Welcome to the forum, Kassia! I was born anad raised in MN and moved to Chicago almost 2 years ago for Paul (my FI) - but now we just bought a house back in MN - we close this Friday! He's still in Chicago this week - but we're almost official MN residents again.
