yikes. i was scanning the posts i hadn't read yet, and read this title wrong, i read it as "wedding 2nd thoughts" - i was like OH CRAP! when i looked to see who started it, i was like - uh oh, she's already married and having second thoughts. i was so relieved when i realized i had read it wrong. WHEW! anyway - great post. really puts things into perspective for everyone. thanks!

I'm excited - and will post pics as soon as I can! She is going to call me later today once she's inspected the dress. I am hoping she can ship it right away, and I'd get it by late this week. But now that I think about it - I am heading out of town this weekend, and I'd hate for the package to sit outside. Hmmm, I wonder if I should have it shipped somewhere else - but where?! So I just called Belle Vie in Chicago, which is where I bought my dress, I wanted to talk to them about shipping it to MN when it comes in, since I moved last week. Well, she tells me, "your dress is already in!" As I was getting over my initial shock of "why the heck haven't you called me?" she was explaining that they were going over it to inspect it to make sure everything was as it should be. Fabulous. So, she's calling me later today to talk about shipping the dress to MN - YAY! I think this is the best option - it's just torture to wait - I am tempted to hop on a place for Chicago! Hopefully I should have it by next week - I might actually make an appointment for alterations next week. Just had to share!

TammyM - didn't you start a thread somewhere where everyone listed the basics about their wedding - like hotel, date, photog, etc?

check out this thread for some ideas. http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t2177 there are also some photogs on this forum that aren't on that list (i didn't know about them at that time!). there's jill higgins (sp?), cooper, and some more photos that have joined recently as well.

Also, I will be going to Puerto Rico at the end up April for a work meeting - just for the weekend, and we'll be staying at the Intercontinental Hotel. Let me know if you need me to snap some pictures! It will be a short weekend trip - but I can try!

Welcome! Where are you getting married? I know that Nicole often refers people to this site - any chance you're getting married at Las Caletas? Either way - there are many girls here w/a group of 10-15 people, I am sure they can give you some feedback! I have the same fear too - and I will have 50-60 people! I have to keep reminding myself that these people will be on vacation in Mexico - I shouldn't have to do a thing!

I'm a Las Caletas bride as well, and it's a great option - something different than a resort wedding if you're looking for that. There are so many great options out there - maybe you can tell us more about what you're looking for, here are some thikngs to think about ... 1) where all of your guests will be coming from 2) how big of a group will you have 3) All Inclusive or not 4) wedding and ceremony on teh beach, or in a gazebo, or a lawn? 5) what's your general budget 6) time of year you're looking to get married (end of June starts the rainy season in Puerto Vallarta, goes until the Fall, maybe Sept, i'd have to check)

but in all seriousness, and i know i said this to you earlier, it takes all types on this forum. i am SO not a planner, i hate it, and can't wait for the wedding to finally be here. when girls say they will miss the wedding planning when it's over, i gasp. but i couldn't do it without you girls, including you, Miss Glenda. you're always looking out for us, whether it's trudging through the streets of NY to get pashminas, or hunting down a mean spammer girl. we don't need you to be Martha Stewart - just be Glenda! (though we may require you to post more pictures in the near future!)
