  1. Welcome! I'm a PV bride as well ... let us know if we can help! As for the ring shopping - that's a tough one. I'd say, like the other girls said, give him some hints. Maybe even circle a few pictures in magazines so he gets some ideas. Or you could even tell him just to buy a diamond and a temporary, plain setting - then propose. Then you can both go back to the store together and pick out a permanent setting. I think a lot of jewelers will do that.
  2. Welcome to the forum! I look forward to hearing more about your wedding. Let us know if we can help at all!
  3. i am voting for #3 - i can't remmeber what your e-ring looks like, but it sounds like it might go best w/it IMO.
  4. I can't remember how I found this site, but it was a little cheaper then Minimus.biz. I ordered a bunch of travel stuff for our OOT bags last week, but I don't have it yet. I also mentioned to them how a lot of us brides & grooms are looking for this kind of stuff for our DWs, and how we use them in our welcome bags. Well, they just sent me an email saying thank you for letting them know about this market (for DWs), and that they set up a new coupon code so that we can get a discount (they also applied it to my order!)! How cool is that? Anyway - here is the email w/the codes: ------------------------------------------------------------------ Hi Ann, We appreciated you bringing to our attention the market for our products regarding destination weddings and out-of-town guest welcome bags. As a result, we have setup some special coupon codes that you can share with others on the destination wedding forum and we have already applied this discount to your order, so you received $10 off. The special destination wedding coupons are good for either $5 off an order of $50 or more OR $10 off an order of $100 or more. The coupons are valid through June 30, 2007. The AllTravelSizes.com coupon codes are as follows: dw5off50 (credits $5 off $50 order) dw10off100 (credits $10 off $100 order) Please feel free to share this information with the forum and thanks again for bringing this to our attention. We truly appreciate your business! Scott AllTravelSizes.com
  5. if nothing else, can't they just "guess" at their size. i mean, i could tell you what size i wore w/JCrew clothes, w/o even trying it on! and they should be happy, after picking up my bridesmaid dress for Marti's wedding in May, paying $150, then almost $100 in alterations, i'd be happy to run out right now to buy a $69 dress!
  6. that's how i am - i like to try it on! but it looks like you can do that w/Blue Nile too - maybe even order 2 and send 1 back. but if i get custom, not sure I can do that!
  7. you trying to freak me out? stop it. bully. paul is in CHicago this weekend for his bachelor party. or, i'm sorry, bachelor weekend. anyway, he found a store there that has a ton of irish jewelry in store, so he's going there to look, and might actually buy something. he wants an irish inspired ring, like a celtic knot or something. hope he finds it, then at least one of us has a band!
  8. only that crazy girl that came on here - but i don't have a password! are you sure the people that have the pwd aren't messing with you?
  9. the jeweler i spoke to says he rarely sees a problem with it though. he said yes, it will likely be tight during a pregnancy (i'd but a temp fake one i guess), but that otherwise you really never get your rings sized when you gain/lose weight. he also said i could get it just a tad big, since my e-ring would keep it on.
  10. it doesn't have to be Leigh (sorry, Leigh!). what about seeing if Bobbi can do it? or I am sure Leigh can recomend someone in your area - she gave me MN names for my friend who is getting married in May. (ok, my friend's name is Marti, remember it, - I am tired of saying "my friend getting married in May" - lol)

I don't think he'd mind that they were late once he saw them!
  12. Natalie - I am so glad that Bobbi worked out for you! I got such a great feeling from her when I was emailing with her before. You look great - Lance is going to LOVE them!

Also just an FYI most places when you get the warranty if you order an eternity band and say you get prego and your fingers are bigger they will exchange is (no cost) for one that fits, so you don't have to problem of not being able to wear your wedding band.. they just give you a bigger ring at no cost? that seems quite generous!
  14. you totally should have just waited to see if she'd ever contact you! that's how i am feeling - i wonder if i never said anything, would she even notice!
  15. does bluenile do custom bands? like to make the diamonds go almost all the way around? i assume so.

I will ask Nicole and let you know ...
  17. Paul and I really need to get on the ball and find some wedding bands. If we don't, we'll be stopping at WalMart and picking up some fake ones for the ceremony! I think I want a platinum, channel set, princess-cut band with the diamonds going either 1/2 to 3/4 of the way around (to avoid the eternity band re-sizing issues). All of that sounds pretty standard and easy to explain. The tricky part for me is getting the right width. I've tried one on at a jeweler that I like - but I am not sure what the width of the band is. The jeweler I saw gave me a price of about $3500-4000 for the band I want - I am just wondering how much I can save by going online. I am willing to pay some amount of $$ to buy it here locally, and form a relationship with a jeweler, but not a ton of $$ extra! Anyway, on to my question. I know there has been plenty of talk about ordering these items online, but do any of you have a good experience with anyone? I think BlueNile.com is a common one, and I know there are others. I am scared to order something like this online, but if all of the "specifications" are up to par - it should really be ok, right? Talk to me about your online jewelry experience ...
  18. amy - did you see my post above? wasn't sure, since that's when you and Christine were hijacking your own thread - lol! just wanted to make sure - not sure if you want me to ask Nicole.
  19. i didn't receive my STD, Amy, but maybe that's cuz i moved. i am sure it will be here soon! i am having a DJ at Las Caletas, no idea who, i just told Nicole (my WC) that I wanted one. our cost is $490/event - i am guessing that's higher than you'd have to pay since the DJ has to come out to Las Caletas and all that stuff. if you want me to ask Nicole who she uses - i cna do that.
  20. thanks ladies - be careful though, you're going to make me think i dont' need to work out in the next two months (or less)! not true - if nothing else, i need to just feel better!
  21. oh honey, while i love you for saying that, cindy has been in a box somewhere for quite a long time! and so has our DVD player. i haven't worked out in lord knows how long. so sad. and i really feel it too - i feel so frumpy (i can't imagine why, as i sit here in my sweats working from home). oh lord, so sad, just realized i was wearing Paul's sweats, i can't even find mine!
  22. are you using it in Word? what i've done is ... 1) insert the clip art into the document 2) double-click on the clip art (to format picture) 3) on the layout tab, select 'behind text' or 'in front of text' - you may have to play with this to see what works best for what you're tyring to do 4) click on 'ok' this is how i did my clip art stuff!
  23. another one i've seen is that if someone wants you to kiss, they have to first stand up and kiss someone. if it's all couples, no big deal - but it can get interesting! i think i've also seen people have them draw names to see who they have to kiss. may have made for even more fun at Melissa's wedding!
