i think it's cute, and if it reflects your personality, i say go for it! i'm all about adding personal touches - if someone is offended, that's their issue (IMO!)

we're having a dinner the night before the wedding. since we can't have a rehearsal, it's a welcome dinner. and we're just having it at Dreams, the resort where most people are staying - pretty casual, mainly a chance for people to meet up and get to know eachother. i have a lot of people that are coming in on Wed or Thurs, and our wedding is on Friday. so having it any earlier in the week wouldn't have worked so well.

oh yea, those drunken chair tie pictures are worth every penny! in all seriousness, it's not much money to spend for a nice decorative element. but if you're really trying to cut down on cost, this could be one thing you could do without.

i know - now i just need to find the shoes of my choice!

sooo funny - i actually thought when i posted that, that i'd hear about it when i just slipped that in (w/o pictures!). i didn't bring my camera - i was in such a rush out the door, i forgot! my complaints: my dress is longer than it was supposed to be, now i need heels or i'll be tripping over it. finding heels for the reception isn't the hugest deal, BUT i still want to go barefoot for the ceremony and am so afraid of tripping! I told belle vie when I first got the dress, and they said to call back and let them know what happened – and that they’d “do something” for me. I should call and see what they’ll do – maybe I can get that designer veil I liked ($600) for free! lol to my relief, alterations should only cost about $225 - which is better than i thought considering the detail on my dress. and that includes the bustier that she is going to sew into my dress. well, she's going to attach the dress to it so it doesn't slip. I have my 2nd fitting on may 17 – I will try to remember my camera then!

ahh yes. ok, when i get them i will tell you what they have and take some real pictures! it does kinda look like an alligator - lol

i agree with Tammy. i'm sorry your sister was such a sourpuss about it - but that doesn't need to stop you from having the destination wedding of your dreams! if no one else can go - so you have a romantic, small ceremony - like many girls are (or wish they were!). then if you need to - organize a cocktail hour when you get back so you can share pictures and wear your dress! also, i don't know your family's financial situation, but $2000 for a family vacation isn't bad at all. tell them to look at it as a vacation, where you just happen to get married! make sure you keep in the front of your mind that this is YOUR wedding, and it's not about anyone else. do what makes you happy.

ok, so just got back from my 1st fitting. looks like i will need some heels afterall - which makes me pretty mad, as i had my dress ordered to barefoot height. so .... if you don't want #2 - how much $ do you want for them? lol (and i am chaging my vote to #3 so that you want to sell #2 to me!) heehee

christine, i just ordered that same swimsuit - but my top was on backorder! and i love that tank! as for FIs liking the lingerie. i really have always thought it was more for the ladies anyway. i mean, what the guys get out of it is that we FEEL sexy in it, which means we ARE sexier to them, ya know? hell, we could all wear a ripped t-shirt to bed but if we're feeling sexy and giving off that vibe - that's what matters!

i wouldn't worry about appearance as much as i'd worry about cleaning them up afterwards. since they're fake i can't imagine you can just leave them laying there w/o it being cleaned up. and who knows if you'd even be allowed to throw them (the resort may have a policy). i am guessing that the fake petals aren't environmentally friendly, but what do i know?!

lol - it's a sisterly thing! i do plan on wearing a veil and a flower, then taking the veil off after the ceremony and just having the flower. i ended up ordering these (link below) but am now wondering if i could do something like Tammy did for the flower girls or something.
