  1. thanks! i just posted the link above to the cooling case that i have. it will probably work for me - and i'll also use it to store my insuling when i head to the beach as well. i JUST got the Ultra, and it works pretty well for me - so no plans to get another meter just yet. but i will keep the Ulrta 2 in mind! also, i am going to find another thread where a few of us were talking about our diabetes, or FIs with diabetes - you may find it interesting!
  2. wow - that's not sterotyping at all! lol every major city has crime and drugs - some just more than others! trust me, the 2 guys that own my company are the biggest snobs, they wouldn't go anywhere nasty.
  3. here are some other sites i had bookmarked: Jewels By Michele - Classy bare feet jewelry and more FJ158 Pearls Gone Wild Foot Jewelry
  4. ok, you got me wondering, and i had to look it up. i think this is what i have ... it works well enough. probably not as good as a cooler - but much easier to carry. Diabetic Care Services - Diabetic Care Services: Frio Cool Pouch Duo-Pen (Black)
  5. i don't have the pump, so i don't have that to carry or worry about. i just use syringes for the lantus and the pen for the Humalog. i was only planning on carrying my Humalog, but given that I am trying to be better about testing my b.s., I should probably carry my meter as well. I have a One Touch Ultra, so it's pretty small. I should be able to carry everything in there - no problem, and I am happy with the purse I got from eBay. I bought this cold pack thing meant to keep syringes cool a while back. I don't use it much, but you brought up a good point, I will have to dig it up. Basically you soak this case in cold water, and it stays cool for a while. You put it in another pack - and then the insulin in there. that might be a tight squeeze, but it will probably fit. it's about the size of a large eyeglass case I bet. let me know if you wnat me to find more info.
  6. Jason, I wish I could put you in a room with Paul, just for a half an hour or something. I know this will be one of the most important days in Paul's life, no doubt, but I don't think he realizes the effort it takes to plan even the simplist of DWs. But I do think that's a great idea - have him join up here! It's always great to get the male perspective on things. And Jason, that reminds me, where has Karen (I hope I got that right!) been!?

BUT i do think that your and your FI need to come to a solution together, whatever that is. FI needs to show this nut care that YOU are the main woman in his life now, and you two are a team.
  8. good point -and i agree, paul and i do need some down time together. any time we're together (only weekends, at most) it's all about getting the house put together. sadly, i haven't been doing much wedding related - so not a problem stepping away from that! but since it's a work-related weekend, and work is one of my biggest stresses, i bet i won't be able to completely relax! woe is me ...
  9. that's exactly what i was thinking, what does your FI want? It seems like this is something that he should really decide. though i am with you - i wouldn't want to give her the honor of being part of the ceremony after acting like that - but she is family, and you don't want to stoop to her level.
  10. lol - dork! i guess when you're your own company, you can have a meeting anywhere! that's what i am afraid of - i won't be able to relax and i will just be thinking of all the things i SHOULD be doing back home!
  11. Paul and I decided a couple days ago to make our already hectic life just a little more hectic and attend our company's 1st annual all-company meeting in Puerto Rico this weekend. So, I leave Friday morning, and come back Sunday evening. Like I don't have enough going on! Anyway, I just thought I'd put this out here and see if anyone wanted me to scope anything out - I am not even sure we have any PR brides ... ? It will be a very short weekend, and busy with meetings, so I don't know how much free time I will have. But here is what I know ... - we are staying at the Intercontinental Hotel in San Juan - we're having a "poolside" dinner on Friday evening, I assume at the hotel - on Saturday evening, we're heading into Old San Juan for cocktails at Cafe Amapola, and have negotiated a corkage fee for our group - we're then having dinner at Sophia's - there will be "fun, gambling, disco, salsa, etc." at Ols San Juan Hotel after dinner Let me know if there's anything I can do while I am there, and I will do my best to help out my BDW sisters (and brothers)!
  12. I would have been legally married in PV, but Paul didn't want to deal w/all the paperwork. I didn't think it would be a big deal, and I'm the divorced one that would have had the extra paperwork! But since our actual ceremony can't be legal (would have to be done in PV before or after), we just decided to get married in the U.S. But - we're getting married on our honeymoon right after we leave Mexico! in Hawaii - so it will still be very special!
  13. i think my favorite thing about those pictures are the use of color - they're so bright! don't get me wrong, i LOVE b&w photographs, but some of those pictures with all of the colors are amazing!
  14. so cute! i ordered that swimsuit too - i love it! obviously haven't worn it yet - but i LOVE the color!

  17. i will say, DWs aren't for everyone, but i LOVE most everything about them! they definitely have their own challanges, but in the end, they're so much more personal and about the friends and family at the wedding, than they are about putting on a show. let us know if we can help!
  18. Welcome to the forum!
  19. Congratulations! You are already past the hard part, in my opinion ... picking the location! Let us know if we can help at all.
