  1. it's usually about every other day i get a response - maybe a 24-48 hour turn around. i am guessing that i've now pissed her off (i got a little snippy i think), and hopefully she doesn't now black list my passport!
  2. ok, here's the deal. i know they're overloaded. and i know they're working hard. but if they just paid attention and did things right the first time, i bet they would be able to catch up easier! i am having this email correspondence w/them. i asked if i would get my passport my mid-May. they said "we need more information to process your passport request. we cannot give an estimated date over email. please call this 800 number" (i do, and get hung up on several times) i responded asking if they needed more information to process my actual passport, or to answer my email question about estiamted date of arrival. she sends back the same thing, telling me to call. i ask again in an email, which one it is, what do they need from me. she sends me a third email with that same paragraph, saying "as i already told you ... " with that text in bold. i said "as i already asked, do you need more info. to process my passport or my email question." i swear, if she took the extra 10 seconds to actually read my email we could be all set! i'd be ok if she just told me "i can't answer that question in email" (though i'd wonder why). but now she has me wondering if they're having trouble with my passport. sorry to hijack, Tammy!
  3. tammy. me, you, cain, paul ... we're all going to vegas. how 'bout it?
  4. well, apparently paul had applied in 1999 - so now he has to fill out "the enclosed form" for a lost passport. however, there was no enclosed form. i am sure we can find it - but he has to reapply basically. i'm freaking out a little, but what can i do?! it's his fault. sarah - i may try this. we applied mid-Feb and i don't have mine yet.
  5. damn, tammy. i'm sorry! what can they do, or will they do? they better fix it, and expidite it, and at no charge to you! just got a letter in the mail today about Paul's passport - he had applied for a new one. well, the letter says that he had applied for one in 1999 and if he doesn't have it, he has to apply for a lost or stolen one. i ask him if he applied, he said "probably." AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

I paid them a few months ago and recently requested my money back. I knew I wanted an all-inclusive, family friendly resort that was tropical. Not a big condo building, but an actual tropical resort. My DW lady told me to do some research and let her know what I found and then she would check it out. She had no opinions to offer me. I really wasn't happy with it, so I thought I was expecting too much at first and let it go, but eventually I realized that she is supposed to be a TRAVEL AGENT that specializes in Destination Weddings! Why doesn't she know this stuff? So I asked for me money back, I haven't heard back from her yet. It would be a great idea for a company, if it worked, and I am sure it does for some people, but I was extremely unhappy with my dealings. Sorry for such a long post! I am off to post my "newbie note" now. Carly this was kind of my experience too. i felt like i was doing all of the work - and i eventually found my location. carly - make sure you stick on them, they said they were giving me my money back, but ihad to ask again and again - i finally got it though.
  13. Welcome, Carly! Let us know if you need any help, or have any questions. and if youwant to share pictures - we love pictures!
  14. i like those 2 examples you posted. the only thing i'd say about the first is that it's all about the practical side of why people have a dw. and to be honest, none of that crossed my mind! i can related MUCH more with the 2nd article - paul and i just wanted a dw, "just because" - we didn't put any more thought into it. we both love the beach, so that was it! i think that might be the only piece the 1st article is missing - it approaches a dw as a logical choice, whereas for us it wasn't logical at all - it was just what we wanted to do! it's very well written, so i don't want to take away from that, but personally, i didn't relate to it at all. i think there are also many young 20s gals on this site, still living at home, that want a dw - we need to speak to those gals too! i think a combination of these would be ideal so that it covers all bases!
  15. glad things went well, but that sucks about the cake! and i have to mention - love that dress you're wearing. where did you get it?
  16. awwww - that's so sweet! i am so happy to hear how great everything went! and can't wait to see even more pictures!
  17. awesome pictures, thanks for sharing! who are you talking to on the phone - lol?! beautiful wedding - congratulations again!
  18. welcome! Dreams is another PV option, and there are a couple other like the Mayan. let us know how we can help!
  19. (and thanks for not going into detail on the 2nd part of my question!)
  20. ahhhh - gotcha. that makes so much more sense now!
  21. i love it - "I like melons!" - i'd laugh, for sure! those are sweet, and personal, which makes them even better. what's a chonie, and how does it get dirty? ("I promise to always clean your dirty chonies")
  22. i think this is the model dress for all that are wondering! (and the thread where laura posted it http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t4601)
  23. FYI - I contacted Kustom Koozies with this question, and here was their response. I love them so far! I'll let you know what I end up doing. ---------------------- Question: Hi - I am planning on ordering ~60 of the collapsable koozies for my wedding. i am considering the royal blue and lime green colors. ideally i'd be able to get about 29 of each color, which i am pretty sure I can do. but my question is, would i also be able to get 1 white and 1 black koozie (for the bride and groom) as long as I use the same design and ink color? Thanks in advance, Ann Answer: Very interesting question. In 8 years no one has been creative enough to ask that. My hat is off to you. Yes you can, just make sure the ink will show up on all of those colors. Thanks - Bob -
