Oh, I completely understand! My hair is natually curly as well, well, natually frizzy/wavy - it's not a nice smooth curl. Especially not in the humidity in Mexico, in June! It was HUGE this past weekend when I was in Puerto RICO. Huge! I already told Nicole (the WC) that this is my biggest fear - how my hair will look. I am hoping to be able to keep it under control, and if it actually looks good that will be a bonus! Bring one of your bridesmaids or a close friend (or a few!) with you for your hair trial, that way she can help!

i forget when your wedding date is - but if you have time, you can always keep an eye on the sites that sell "once wed" gowns. that's what i did w/the lazaro that i fell in love with. i never did find it and ended up forking over more $$ than i ever thought i would - but i love my dress!

Congratulations, and welcome! Deciding on the location is the hardest part, if you ask me, we waited a couple months before deciding as well. There are so many options - are you leaning towards any in particular? Mexico, Hawaii, Carribbean, Dom. Republic, California, etc. ... let us know more about what you're looking for and we will help!

Ok, ladies - I need your help. I currently own Option #2 and am seriously considering purchasing Option #3 (or Option #1?) - all are shown again below to make this easier on you! I was orignally going to wear this necklace but when I had my first fitting I was wearing the necklace, and I didn't like how it looked with teh dress for a couple reasons. 1) the necklace was long enough that it hit the neckline of my dress, and 2) it just didn't seem to work, like it didn't look right with the dress. I do wear the necklace every day, so that may have been the problem - but it was my grandmas and was an anniversary present from my grandpa so I was hoping to wear it for that reason but I just didn't like it with the dress at all. I do also have her pearls, but not really sure I want to wear those. So, your mission, shoud you choose to accept it, is to find me a necklace to go with either of these earings! I am a believer of "less is more" for the most part, so simple yet elegant would work best. I kind of like the idea and look of something w/an aqua gem for my 'something blue' but just not sure I want it front and center on my necklace - perhaps a nice bracelet? I also don't want to spend a ton of $$ - the $110 for the earings is more than I wanted to spend for those! Option #2 I purchased for $18 so I won't be out too much money if I don't use them, and I can always wear them again. Help me find a necklace! Option #1 Option #2 Option #3

I GOT MY PASSPORT! Whew - I feel a little better. Only a little, because my groom to be doesn't have one, and has to reapply because apparently he did have one, but must have lost it - so now he has to apply for the duplicate, or whatever. So he goes in today and sends in the application. I said "how much did that cost you?" - he said "just the $11 to overnight it." I brought up how it costs lots of $$ to expidite - but he didn't do that, just wrote "expidite" on the envelope. Now, maybe they will do it since he did apply in April, but lord ... I may not be able to have my FI at my wedding!

Some things to think about ... - budget - # of guests - family or adult resort/site - beach or gazebo or other wedding - resort or off-site wedding - all-inclusive ?

perfect - i just sent this to Paul, he found out today that the Marriott we're staying at 1) doesn't have a WC, and 2) isn't doing events since there is construction. oh well - that's what i get for leaving it up to him! but if we end up getting married back in MN, I can deal with it!

that's a great idea as well (and pretty much what I am doing for makeup). if you still want help or ideas, you could have it done locally at a salon, and bring your friend(s) with you to learn how to do your hair. then they can practice any many times as you want, like Katie said!

i just designed mine in MS Word, and bought the paper at a art supply store (cut it myself, etc.). you can do it w/o the program if you want!

I'm paying the $300 Nicole quoted me to get my hair done, but am having a friend do my makeup. that also includes a trial. i wonder if the prices have gone up - that's very likely. but either way - it is a lot of $$ - i was surprised as well. but they do have to come all the way out to Las Caletas, and, like you, there was no other option for me! you could try getting it done in town first, then just hope it doesn't get too ruined on the boat trip over (wear something over it). then just have a friend that can touch it up if need be. that could be an option.

Welcome, Garrett (and Tiffany)! You mention you found a destination wedding planner - any chance this is destinationweddings.com? If so, they are definitely a travel agent - not a wedding planner. I won't bore you with details, but just wanted to throw that out there in case that's who you're talking to. Let me know if you want more info. There are a few grooms (and mothers, aunts, etc.) out there - and we're glad to have you all! Jason is probably the most active groom - but he's not on every day.

Like Jessalyn, I am doing my legal ceremony in Maui, but don't have any details because that's the responsibility of my fiance to plan, and well, let's just say we may end up getting married back in MN. He hasn't done anything yet! I do know that we will be staying at the Wailea Beach Marriott Resort & Spa though, so I will be able to let you know more about that property later!

guess who just called me!? the passport agency! my application is suspended. they needed a picture id showing i am now going by my maiden name (that was all i was doing, was a name change). she was very nice though, and i asked her when i would get it, before the wedding. she said she'd rush it and would process it as soon as she got my fax. i said i'd do it right now! oh, and i told paul that i am marrying SOMEONE on June 8th - he better be there!
