Wedding Dress Help!
LCBride2007 replied to MrsV-to-be's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
I voted for #1 - I love it, it's beautiful and looks great on you. I had the same issue - I had narrowed it down to 3 dresses that I truely loved. Just keep going back and trying them on - eventually you will narrow it down the "the one" when the others don't look as great the 2nd, or 3rd time you try them on. I don't think you can go wrong with any of these choice - you look great in all of them! -
Do You Like These Stones?
LCBride2007 replied to Martha's topic in Wedding Flowers, decoration, cake, etc.
I like them - especially since that's similar to what I did. I bought some aqua sea glass and Nicole (WC) scattered it around the centerpieces on the table. I know there is a picture in my slideshow - but I don't have a regular pic of it yet. eBay: Beach Glass Sea Glass BULK 150pcs Aqua Teal Beautiful (item 230146048556 end time Jun-30-07 21:36:01 PDT) -
OOOOHHH - I am so excited for you! Remember to enjoy everything as it comes, and just take in the moment ... it all goes so fast. Have fun, and congratulations! Don't forget some pictures with our little starfish!

Natalie! You were the first girl I met from BDW ... and we used to be neighbors! I am so excited for you - I hope you and Lance have a fabulous honeymoon, and I can't wait for you to get back so we can hear all about your wedding day! And of course, don't forget the pictures ... -

YAY Jessalyn! We're all so happy for you ... I can't wait to hear about how everything went - you'll be such a beautiful bride! Jonathan - hurry back and post pictures! -

Quote: Originally Posted by MarlaB Okay, enough about your toes (haha). Awesome review! Please let us know how the guests liked the Trio. I have to figure out if I want them or not. I heard them while I was waiting to come down from the bridal casita, but not really after that - maybe a little on the recessional. Did you say they played during the ceremony? I must have read wrong. They did play during the processional, and recessional - I am not sure if they did anything during the actual ceremony - I didn't hear it anyway. So they played as the guests were arriving, and then until cocktail hour - which we didn't attend much of since we were getting pics done. Did you use the traditional "here comes the bride" song when you walked down the aisle? Nope - not for us! I just had Nicole tell them to play "appropriate" music, so I have no idea what they played! If so (or whatever song it was), did the DJ take charge of this? What if I don't hire a DJ? Who does it? If you don't have a DJ or a Trio (or other live music), you could just use an iPod hookup or something I assume. Now, for an embarrassing question: After figuring out what a TTD session was (trash the dress), I still am not clear as to what this means. I know it has something to do with the photographer taking pictures the day after but there must be something I am missing. You can get down and dirty in your dress - like in the water, rolling around in the sand, etc. It's basically just some fun shots - and you don't have to worry about your dress getting dirty. It's called "trash the dress" but often the dress isn't actually trashed - just gets a little wet and/or dirty! Oh, and what are b-pics? Apparently Paul saw those before the wedding. Please don't tell me the b stands for before!! Oh Lord, I need a translator on this site! These are boudoir pictures - sexy little pictures of myself that I had taken, I had Leigh (my photographer) create an album, and I gave it to him as a gift - he loved them! As for the bathrooms on Las Caletas, is there one closer to ground level that guests can use? I never went when I was there but my FI said they were way up in the jungle. There is one upstairs - you do have to walk up to the room above where you're eating dinner, but it's not the ones that are way up in the jungle. I noticed you being barefoot as you walked down the steps with your father. Did you ever wear your shoes you purchased? I had 3 pairs of shoes with me but I never really wore any of them. I ended up kicking off my heels before I even walked down teh aisle because my dress was snagging on them. And I think I may have been barefoot for dinner too, and most of the reception. Once I changed into my other dress, I did have on some wedge shoes. Where did you find pictures of the chuppa for Nicole? No idea anymore - just various pictures - I do think my final choice was on this forum somewhere, from someone's wedding! What was the temperature/humidity like? Were you sweating the whole time getting ready? It was pretty cool up in the casita - there was a nice breeze, thank goodness. I did get warm while getting my hair done - but not too bad. They do have a fan in there - but we never used it. I was warm, but not unbearable. Did Nicole have it arranged as to how the guests would be seated at the ceremony and reception or did they just sit wherever they wanted? I gave her a seating chart - and she worked with us to make it work for the space. We did this the week before the wedding. Were you seated at some sort of head table? We did a little table for 2 - I've seen it done different ways. I will see if I can attach my seating chart. You mentioned bringing aqua sea glass. Where/how was this used? I may have missed the picture. My darn computer at home is so slow. It's the aqua colored stuff at the base of the centerpieces. Did you design a wedding program? Not sure if I will need one or if it is necessary. Nope, I didn't do a program. We also didn't have a wedding party, didn't have any planned music, or readings - not sure what I would have put in there! I kind of like the 'fan program' idea though for the guests to keep cool. Like I said - I did do those little straw like fans as place cards/thank-you cards. By the way, the guests all sat in the sun, correct? I guess so - though I think it was pretty overcast - there were no umbrellas though. What flavor cake did you choose? (Again, maybe I missed seeing the picture of it). It was white cake. Did you opt to pay more and stay longer than 10:30pm? If not, do you regret it (if you weren't sick of course!)? No, we didn't extend the evening. We thought about it - and the night did go super fast, but you do have a 45 min boat ride back and, for us there was another 20-30 min bus ride after that to Dreams. I think our crowd was ready to get back. Depends on your crowd. Do you think it would be too hot for my FI to wear a tuxedo? Am I being silly in requesting this of him? I don't see many guys wearing a tuxedo in the pictures on this forum. Maybe I'm a huge dork. It's a personal preference really. I do think he will be pretty hot though - I was in my dress, and the guys were in just their light clothing. Once you get dancing and by that bonfire - it's warm! I personally didn't want Paul to wear a tux - that wasn't the "mood" we were going for - we wanted more casual and "beachy." Did you do any cool excursions while in Mexico?? Canopy tours are always fun! I didn't want to do a dang thing - but other guests did the canopy tour, and some deep sea fishing. They liked both. Did you have to also pay for Matt Blum's airfare and a separate fee for him to also shoot pictures of you or is this the normal set up for Leigh? It's normal for Leigh to have an associate photographer with her I believe, I don't know what their financial arrangements were, I just paid Leigh the amount that we agreed on. Lastly (I think), I had no idea you were officially getting married in Hawaii. That's the coolest idea ever!! Did you just visit Oahu and Maui? What were the highlights of both places? I too am thinking of Hawaii for my honeymoon but just not right from Mexico! I have no idea how to pack that many clothes all at once! You just wear the same thing ... no one knows! lol We were only in Honolulu for 1 full day, and we did Pearl Harbor, and then out to dinner. Hard to pick a highlight. Maui we did a lot of cool things - cool beaches, great restaurants, helicopter tour, snorkling, etc. Again, not sure I can pick a highlight! Well I've blabbed entirely too long and I hope I didn't make it sound as though your review wasn't spectacular. I am just thinking of all those extra little details being I am a soon to be LC bride!! Did you post your Hawaii pics somewhere?? I did post them somewhere - I think they're even up in my review somewhere. If not, I will add them. I need a faster computer. Thanks Ann!!! My pleasure! Let me know if you have more questions!

Well, this was a HUGE bouquet of really colorful Gerber daisies, snapdragons, irises, day lilies, and tons of other stuff...he rocks, especially since last night sucked at work! Then when I got home this morning he had already left for work, but he had made me a cake! He NEVER cooks/bakes anything so I was impressed. I don't think anyone has made me a cake since my mom when I was a teenager. He has like 8 presents wrapped and sitting on the kitchen counter with a card. I can't wait until he gets home so I can open them! And, he made reservations at my favorite restaurant for dinner tonight....Ahh, I love him! That sounds like an awesome start to your birthday ... better tell DH not to set the bar too high, there are a lot of birthdays to be celebrated! lol Hope you have a fabulous dinner ... and an even better birthday!

Hey Ladies! It's time for me to share the wealth ... here are some items I didn't use for my wedding, or used and don't need to hang on to. I will probably be adding more items to this list as I unpack and go through stuff, but here's a few for starters. Let me know if you have questions, or are interested in any of these items. Since you can only have 10 pictures in a post, I am including this link as well - here are the pictures of all of the stuff: Ann's Wedding Stuff For Sale Small Fans: (SOLD!) I have 29 of these fans – I’d sell them for like $10 OBO, plus shipping. I used them for place cards, and attached a thank you note as well. I created a little mini-card with a thank you note inside – on the outside I put the guests’ name and table #. I punched a hole in the corner, and attached them to the fan w/a ribbon. I handed them out before the ceremony so people could use them if they were hot, but most people put them on the tables right away. There is a picture in my slideshow, but I don’t have another photo! Orchid Sprays: I have 12 sprays, with 7 blooms on each stem, plus buds. I bought them for $3.99/spray but I will sell for $2/spray ($24 for all 12) OBO, plus shipping. I was going to use these to put on the fans, but I just never got around to finishing that project. But I did cut one of the flowers off to see how it would look – so one of the sprays has 6 (I still have the loose flower). Silk Flowers – Pink Gerbera Daisies (SOLD!) I have 12 of these flowers and I’d sell them for like $10 OBO, plus shipping. I had ordered them for the flower girls’ bouquets, but they were bigger than the website had indicated, and I couldn’t use them. They’re a lighter pink, w/accents of a fuchsia color. The stem is 22” long. “Just Married” Flip Flop Key Chain (SOLD!) How cute is this!? I put a chapstick by it so you could see how big it was. Ok, I’ll throw it in for free for the first buyer! Or it’s a little $1 … how about that? J Hair Flower Clips (SOLD!) I bought these from Late Bloomer Boutique and paid $75 (http://store.latebloomerboutique.com/crmorsetof3.html), but will sell them for $40 OBO, plus shipping. I only wore 2 of them, and looking at the 3 together, I can’t tell which ones I wore! They were great, everyone thought they were real, and I didn’t have to worry about them wilting on me. *I will be selling these after I do my TTD session, as I might want to wear them again (but I won’t trash them, PROMISE!) Veil (SOLD!): I got my veil custom made at OccanseyDesigns ( www.occanseydesigns.com) - they were great to work with, and answered all of my questions. The veil has alternating clear crystals and pearls, and is on a plastic comb. It's ivory, but does look more white in these photos. I bought it for $63 and will sell it for $30 OBO, plus shipping. *I will be selling this after I do my TTD session, as I might want to wear it again. JCrew Vivian Wedding Dress, Size 6: (SOLD!) I will sell this for $99 OBO, plus shipping. I bought this thinking I'd wear it for my TTD session, but I ended up with something else instead. So other than being tried on once or twice, it's never been worn - I think it originally retailed for $495 - I bought it on sale. I will try to post pictures, but if you go to eBay and search for JCrew Vivian Dress you will see a few for sale, with pictures.

Welcome! I was married in Puerto Vallarta a couple weeks ago. But then my hubby and I snuck off for our honeymoon to Oahu and Maui - and we actually had our legal ceremony in Maui. Our legal ceremony wasn't much of anything - just the 2 of us, but we did use a company to help us plan. I can try to help if you have any questions - just let me know!
-
Welcome! There are a few DT brides AND grooms on this site - so they should be able to help you out some. As for the rest of it - let us know if we can help! Having your site, and photog are 2 bigs steps ... have you looked for the dress yet? You have time - but that's uaually another big step!
-
oh dang. just another shot to have for the TTD session!

Why are the pics of bridal dresses never as good as in person?! because they all post like they have to pee - i mean check this out, this is the model in my dress ... Lazaro - Bridal Gown - 3501 - now what bride looks like that?

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SARAH!!!!!!!
-
I have to say ... MRS: TammyB, just cuz she's my BDW sister, and she's always trying to help people out. -or- Tammy (host): I mean the woman is pregnant, running a business, trying to find a new house, managing her gestational diabetes, and busting her butt to keep this forum up for all of us! YAY TAMMY! I vote for the Tammys! Bride-to-Be: Jessalyn (she's still a bride-to-be, right?) She was really helpful with my Maui/legal wedding planning, and many other things!
-
Maybe someone on here would want it - it would be so fun to see someone else wear your dress! I'll probably be selling mine as well, after my TTD session. I won't actually trash the dress though - if we do anything that would hurt the dress, I will wear my backup dress. Anyone interested in the Lazaro 3501? lol

I had the same question - so thanks, Tammys! Tammy - how did you burn your hand? Are you ok?
