  3. when i had people RSVP to the STD it was so we could get a general idea of who is going - since you need to do so much in advance (OOT bags, gifts, etc.) i wanted to have a general idea. they just had to click "yes" on our website. then the formal invite was just more for formality - you really don't HAVE to do both. though most people didn't really RSVP to our STD anyway - so I did need these. i needed an exact count of who was coming. as for when you need to send these out, i think it's probably different for every group. Paul proposed to me less than a year ago, and we're already married - i didn't want a long engagement. we sent our STDs out 6 mos ahead of time, and that was plenty of time for our group. for some, they've said they needed a year or more to give their group time to plan.
  4. welcome! this was my 2nd marriage as well (by my hubby's first) but we both wanted the focus on the important things to us - just being with friends and family to celebrate! let us know how we can help ya!
  5. ya know - i haven't tried looking for it, i'll check it out!

I bought envelops at Staples that fit my magnet perfectly, and that's what i mailed those out in. i got lucky and found some that fit perfectly. then i bought envelopes for my invites at a paper store in Chicago - can't remember the name! Paper Source maybe. i actually bought the envelopes first, before i made my invites so i knew they'd fit. Tammy is working on the forum issues!
  7. ... this week, here: ::: get married ::: Just pulled this of the PV Brides Yahoo Group I am on, I haven't checked it out yet, but it could be interesting! Here's what the bride said that sent it ... My wedding is in the footage. They show a couple clips of us getting married, watching the mexican trio, me getting my hair done, etc. Most of the other people are actors, except Marilu the WC.
  8. i sent out magnet STDs about 6 mos ahead of time and asked people to RSVP on our website so i could get a general idea. most people didn't RSVP though! on those STDs it also said "formal invite to follow" or something. then i sent out invitations w/traditional RSVP cards about 8 weeks before the date. most people had already booked by then - but i also asked for their arrival date and wehre they were staying, and if they were attending the welcome dinner.

  10. ditto. we are also missing the point count in our profiles.

  15. OOOHHH - Congratulations!! I hope our little starfish is bringing you luck and love!
  16. Here is a helpful thread as well - I believe most of these photographers are from the U.S., but there are a few in Mexico as well. http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...ographers.html Mellibean - I know you're looking at Las Caletas (have you narrowed the location down yet? I think I've seen you post about a few locations) - but Las Caletas does work with a handful of photographers - I know they're posted in a couple threads, but I can try to dg them up if you need. They actually might already be in the list that's a part of this thread ... http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...ographers.html

But there are tons of places to get some quiet and relax, even when the day tour is there. Jamy beat me to it - that's exactly what I was going to say. Typically the groom goes over later with all of the guests - though I know there was someone on here that had their groom and some buddies go over with the ladies in the morning. Marisa maybe? And yes, it's 3 free total - I think I had like 7 people and just had to pay for the extra girls.

Jamy got married June 2 - that's so funny you were there! we went to Hawaii for our honeymoon - a lot of travel, but we always wanted to honeymoon there. and we had our legal ceremony in Maui.

Congratulations, by the way!! well, well then ... here is my review - http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...ooooooong.html and here is Jamy's - http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...ng-review.html here is the thread with my slideshow (i don't have all my pictures yet) - http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...slideshow.html or my photographer's blog Leigh Miller Photography and Jamy's pictures - http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...s-caletas.html well you'll just have to come back more often! i assume you're getting married in 2007, or is it 2008?

I'm getting so excited, especially now that I saw the beach in person! i'm so excited for you! i asked Nicole if i was the only bride who had NEVER seen Las Caletas before her wedding - and she thought so! too funny. i am so glad you were able to see things beforehand ... and that you love it! honestly, i can't say enough good about LC or Nicole or Kelley - or really anyone else we worked with. the woman that did my hair - Anja i think worked at L'Occoco (sp?) - Nicole arranged it all for me. i was very happy with everything. have you seen my review and pictures? what about Jamy's - we both just got married the a few weeks ago!
  22. Nicole can arrange for someone to come to Las Caletas and do your hair - that's what I did. It's a tad expensive, I think $300 - but for me it was worth it! If that's not an option - could a friend or family member do it for you - you can practice until the wedding! This is what most girls did.

I actually got the veil custom made pretty cheap (like $60) from an online store - here is the link: title
