welcome, kelly! this site has kept many of us sane while planning a dw - so just let us know how we can help!

oh wow is that beautiful. sooo romantic and sexy - and classy - all at the same time, which is rare! i cannot wait to see YOU in that dress. it looks so flowy - perfect for a beach wedding! the extra set of hands cracks me up - but your FI won't be able to keep his hands off of you in that dress, so good thing you know what the pics will look like already! -
OMG Tammy. that woman has some nerve. wow.

But really, I do appreciate all the advice. Now if you could just make my dream home cost half as much... i feel your pain, Janet! since i work all over the US my taxes have always been a nightmare. you're supposed to pay taxes in every state that you work - and i think one year i had 8 states! at a minimum i have 2-3 every year. i decided long ago to get my taxes done by a professional - it's just worth the $$ to me!

Its also so hard for me trying on dresses because I swim in everything (like a size 2 and 5'4) so with major clips and dresses that are way too long it's hard to tell......yikes! same thing here - i went through the doubts because i never had that "this is THE dress" moment. i had to try on my dress a handful of times before i bought it. and i definitly knew i liked the dress - but all the other gals were like - "oh, you'll KNOW when it's the right dress" - i never KNEW. guess that's just not in our nature! i 2nd guess everything! lol as for the size issue - that is tough. i am 5'4" as well, but probably a size 4-6 - and it was tough to picture the dresses made for your size. i just had to have faith that when it was mdae for ME, it would look better! and it did - don't worry!

I also am having issues with the "feeling" I'm supposed to get when I am supposed to just KNOW it's the dress for me. I am so picky about clothes and dresses specifically that I don't know if I"ll ever have that exact feeling. Did you guys absolutely "know" it was your dress BTW...I have three more appointments in Bellevue (WA) for this Friday...so I'm still actively looking; My dress budget is 1500 or so.....My mom is paying for it, so anything above 1500 I'm paying for. I'm also solely paying for this wedding (15k)....so I need to save money!!!! some girls have that feeling when they try on "THE" dress - i had doubts right up until the wedding day. i loved my dress, but never said "i knew right away that this was the one" - so it probably depends on the person! i am typically pretty indecisive and weigh all of my decisions for a while, so that's just me!

i spent $3000 plus about $275 for alterations. WAY more than i thought i'd ever spend - but i loved it. i should never have tried it on! in the end, i would have been just as happy in a less expensive dress. how much have you looked around for dresses? if you're wanting to make semi-significant changes, maybe this isn't THE dress? you could also consider having a dress made custom ... i know a few girls on here have done that.

I have heard rumors that there are some in Mexico City, but I was wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction. I would really like an English speaking one so that I can communicate with him before the wedding about what we want and don't want in our ceremony, who we are, etc. Also, if anyone knows any conservative rabbis in the northeast that would be willing to make the trip down, I am more than open to that too! HELP!!!! i don't mean to come across mean, but i don't know how else to word this question! why does your mother get any say in your wedding day? unless you agree too, of course - but this is YOUR day, and you call the shots!

well depends on where and what you buy. if you're buying somewhere like davids bridal or off the rack, you don't need as much time. if you're buying at a bridal salon where they have to order, i'd give yourself at least 6 mos. and don't forget to factor in a month or two for alterations.
