  1. i would love to help - but not sure i understand the question. have you tried making the monogram/logo in powerpoint? that's what i've been playing in. you should be able to move it around, and then put a textbox on top of it - have you tried right-clicking on the frame clip-art, then do "edit picture" or something like that? which clip-are are you using, maybe i can play with it to see what your options are (i am so a "hands on" person and am not good at explaining w/o trying myself!
  2. Please make sure to read these: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...ease-read.html
  3. hmmm - let's see if anyone can try making some for you ... i may give it a shot myself, but i am just learning how, so i can't promise anything! do you have any examples of what you're looking for? just something to go off of?
  4. i am sure they could remove those thatched thingys, heck, by the end of the night they were almost all off anyway. they may just do that for presentation sake - i don't know that they actually served a purpose other than to look nice.
  5. if you post what you're looking for (colors, names, what you want it to say and look like) someone might be willing to make some for you! otherwise you could try these sites that make them for a small fee ... 6. welcome to the forum, Shadia! we're getting more and more Jamaica brides and grooms every day - i love it!

Nicole, Paul, and I went over the seating chart on the phone a day or so before we left for Mexico. she also sent me other examples of larger party seating charts. if i can find them i will attach them! how did you choose to setup the tables? how many people per table? did you have a special way that you had the tables organized? there can be varied sized tables depending on how you wnat to set it up. we had more big tables at first (~8 people) but one thing she had me change was to break a couple of those into 2 tables of 4. like for a table of 8, she really needs 3 tables - 3 people on the sides, then 2 on the ends. but 2 tables of 4 really only need 2 tables, with 1 person at each edge. make sense? anyone out there take advantage of the very inexpensive spa services when they were at LC before the wedding? i would have if i felt better - the spa is right next to the bridal suite - it's perfect! we did use their bathrooms and showers to get ready in, but none of the services. is the dancefloor just the thatch squares which were previously the aisle? is there anything underneath them, like a hard surface? there is a wood platform below the thatched mats - those mats do slide all over though, and people stumble off the edge. can be dangerous or entertaining, depending on your viewpoint! who had the dj? =) we used the DJ - he did a good job. we (read: Paul) made a few CDs of some music we like - he played a combo of those and some of his own stuff. other than the first 3 songs, we didn't specify anything. he did a good job reading the crowd. i know, lots of questions...we're busy bees right now and quite excited. =) (it's making me type something here) seating chart.ppt
  9. Gen! I got goosebumps when I read your post just now ... I can't tell you how amazing it was. (do i keep saying that? lol). now i want to go look at my slideshow again ... I know this is easier said than done - but don't stress about the details. I don't know what planning you're doing - but you probably don't need it! I even said to Paul after the wedding was all over ... we really could have just showed up and had just as amazing an experience. Las Caletas just has that affect on people!

  11. i wish! i don't think anyone had a video recorder at teh welcome dinner. i wish i remembered the rest of the "song" too (it was more of a chant) lol
  12. So just because I felt like sharing these with someone, here they are! I didn't know anyone got pictures of this - and she just sent me the link. How fun! On the night of the welcome dinner, Paul's 4 nieces (and 1 cousin's son!) decided to put on a show for me - yes, just me. lol well, they had michael (the little boy) come get me to "show me something." when i went over there, the girls did a little dance and sang a song on the "stage" - they all Irish dance, so that's what they did. the song went something like "ann, ann, soon to be our aunt" or something. i can't remember the words! it was sooooo cute though. they had worked so hard to practice this. molly, the youngest, isn't taking lessons yet - but likes to follow. of course, michael couldn't be upstaged ...
  13. Hi Nadia - are you a wedding coordinator, or just a helpful bride? Either way - do you have pictures of your wedding to share - we LOVE pictures! Where were you married?
  14. even though I am sad you won't be around as much (stupid job) - i hope you have a great first day!
  15. We do - but they actually don't do weddings during the rainy season there - not sure exactly when it starts up again, but I know June is the last mont hthey do them ... then maybe not until October?
  16. Hey Brooke & Gen (who said that anyway? lol)! Haven't seen you on here in a while ... how are things going? Aren't you excited? I am sooooo lookingt forward to the next Las Caletas ceremony ... I just love hearing how everything went. yours will be coming up soon. I think Heather & Dan are in Oct some time, but then you're next I think! you have to PROMISE to come back here and share !

I have to shoes but I don't have all the outfits. Did anyone have a glass of wine before to relax a bit? i thought about having some - but they were too early in the morning! i actually did bring some champagne and OJ, but nobody ended up drinking any. once we got comfy - we didn't need it! you'll have a blast. i can't wait to see!
  18. YAY! it worked. since i know you had your AHR at a Mexican restaurant - now i am craving Mexican. not nice. NOW it's finally time to settle in to married life. no more planning!
  19. oohhh - i really like it! it's hard to find a shorter dress that's formal enough, still beachy and will still make you feel like a bride. i really like it! here's the picture ...
  20. what about any sort of gluten reaction? seafood? maybe you could try writing down what you ate each time you get this to see if there's a pattern. and i suppose, basically keep a food journal for a while since it would be helpful to know what DIDN'T make you feel thsi way either.
  21. i don't think you're a bad sister at all. i wouldn't want to wait either! but you never mention the option of not having your parents pay so that you could just get married when you wanted to. is that something to consider? i'd hate to have my wedding date dictated by some other reason than what he and I wanted. maybe there are ways around this?
  22. welcome to the forum, Keatra!
  23. wow - those are some great shots by Riccis - i can't wait to see yours, leigh! side note - did you see the "maternity session" after it on Riccis' blog? tammy should do that!
