  1. i've never heard of jr. bride - but hey, if that's what she wants to call it - i think it's fabulous! i think it would be cute if you wanted to have her wear a little white dress.
  2. we didn't really exchange gifts. i did give him the b-pics album though. and he wrote me a really sweet card. he also said we're going to get new tennis stuff and make a point to do more stuff like that together, just because we've both been working so much and haven't been taking advantage of where we live (lots of outdoor activities, etc).
  3. you're welcome! i hope it helps ... i've used that Avery site so often in the wedding planning process. they have templates for just about everything (CD covers, name tags, etc.)
  4. i LOVE going to the Avery website and downloading their templates, whether or not i am using the actual Avery product. in this case, i did buy the Avery postcards (i used them as inserts w/my STD magnets). here is the template. Avery Postcards - Original.doc
  5. not sure which side we were on - when you're at the front desk, facing it, we were on the left. we got all that champagne and cold towels, and cookies. not sure what qualifies as "private" check in - not sure if we got that. we got 2 beds, and they told us like 5 times they'd come and make a king - but never did. the next night we got moved to a king bed, and the AC worked in the 2nd room - so we gave up and were happy enough with that room - i don't care too much about rooms when i am on vacation as long as they're clean and the AC works! lol funny thing - we did get champage and a fruit plate delivered to our room the day before the wedding - lol. they had no idea when our wedding was, and we didn't do a room block - which is why i assume they weren't overly accomodating or upgrade us. we left the day after the wedding, so there was nothing else special with our room. which was no big deal! we wanted to celebrate the honeymoon in Hawaii anyway.

She said she wanted to offer us a room with a better view and it would take an extra hour to get ready, or we could have our original room right away. We waited and it was very nice. wow - i apparently went to the wrong check-in people! did you do a room block? i wonder if that's why - paul and i had to beg to get out of our crap room - we eventually got moved up one floor, and were at least able to get a king bed - but no luck on anything else. were far from accomodating! but we still had a fabulous time - the running joke all week was that paul's parents had the "bridal suite" - they had a really nice room on the top floor.
  7. welcome to the forum, Jeanette!
  8. oh yea, we asked for an upgrade at Dreams. granted, they had put us in the back corner, possibly the worst room you could have, so anything would be an upgrade! but you'd be surprised how many times you can get an upgrade for free by just asking! now, don't cross the line and be a bridezilla and get pissed when you DON'T get it, they're not obligated! the best way to do it is to be all sweet and giddy, like honeymooners should be!

  11. i voted for #5 just cuz it was the same one on the last poll that i liked, but i like #2 and 5 - they're the most relaxed ones, and look most natural.

Maybe a bobbie pin here or there..lol i didn't intentionally do this whole tradition either ... but you DID have the starfish Jamy - that was "borrowed" ... and old, well, it wasn't brand new! lol
  13. she just had a friend take them with her camera - that's why it's so fast! lol i voted for #4 just because it was the more natural looking one - all very cute!
  14. very interesting - sounds like a good option for some.
  15. i don't think it's bad, it's really just a personal preference. unless you're supersticious i guess - then it's bad luck i think. paul was so cute - he refused to look at my dress, he'd even cover his ears when i'd describe it to other people.
  16. i didn't intentionally do this - but i think i can cover all categories! something new: many things! dress, veil, etc. something borrowed: jewelry (necklace, earings) something blue: paul's sisters bought me a blue bracelet on the beach in mexico something old: hmmm. oh yeah, i wore my great grandmothers wedding ring on my right hand!
  17. i voted for #3 just because i like the dull look of the brushed metal, but #1 was a close second. i just shy away from the super shiny rings for guys, but really - put it on his finger for a week and it won't be super shiny! also, #3 is closest to paul's (see below), so that's probably why i picked it!
  18. welcome to the forum, Kim!

By the time the wedding started I was dying to see him. dang it. i know it was somebody at Las Caletas - actually it might have been marissa
  20. yup, ok - so when you have the image open, can you right-click on the image, and select properties? then copy that url. come to the post and click on the yellow box in the toolbar (looks like a mountain) and paste in that url. that's all i do!
  21. welcome to the forum, Jaime!
  22. i can't belive i never saw these! nice to finally see a pic of Martin, i like putting faces to names
  23. i think at home here in MN, i've always paid like $50-100 for an up-do for weddings i've been in
  24. i say do whatever you want - i know people, like Jamy, hung out with their FI all day (at least i think she did). i left for Las Caletas at like 8am, so I didn't see Paul until i walked down the aisle. we did stay in the same room the night before though.
