She turned out a very capable, responsible, productive person in me...and for that I am very thankful. So, yes, I know what it feels like to be a child of divorce. I also know what I'm seeing & it scares me. Iam a firm believer than children live up to their expectations. If you don't expect much, you won't get much. I know that's over-simplifying, but I really do believe that - R needs to expect more from his son. He's certainly capable, but right now he's not really being forced to live up to very high expectations. That doesn't answer or help most of the issues you've brought up - Maria is doing a better job at that! But I just wanted to throw that thought out there.
  3. that's what i was going to say too, Sarah. nothing is wrong with a free wedding, but the problem is .. i'm not sure it exists! lol even these "free" weddings that some resorts offer, that's only if you book x number of rooms or something - that's hardly free!

  5. wow - Sarah. i don't know how you do it, but i am glad you do. i may have hurt that woman. her poor children ...
  6. I realized that I posted the picture of the guys that all happened to wear the khaki and white, but I never posted the picture of the guys that were actually TOLD to wear those colors! These are Paul's 2 brothers, his dad, and his best friend.
  7. Dear Heidi's Boss - You're a clueless, insensitive, judgemental bitch. How dare you. {smack}
  8. welcome to the forum! just let us know if we can help you at all.
  9. i know - i can't keep up! ok, so that one was easy ... but still! lol i thought about changing mine, but just haven't.
  10. Christa - when did you change your screen name? I was so confused for a second!

  12. he would respond to me back when I was contacting him, but i haven't tried lately. since Sol referred him, you could try contacting Sol to see if she can get a hold of him.

First of all, you bought a gift off my registry, so how could I not like it... and second, I don't even know you - why is it necessary for me to sign the card "love"... seriously!??! What kind of a person are you that you need to stress me out about something this petty and stupid?!?! OMG are you serious? wow. i can't believe there are people out there like that.

  15. oh, Drea - can you send a copy of that to my body as well? thanks!
  16. ok, let's pretend that logic even makes sense (IMO, it doesn't at all). these people are choosing to go on a vacation too ... they're not required to come to the wedding! anyway, pretending that even makes sense. they're still going to have meals and drinks (and snacks, and more drinks, etc.) throughout their vacation. are you going to give them all of their spending money? doubt it! an AI really makes sense for everyone - I think it saves money for both sides!
  17. that's how i feel too, Vanessa ... sooo lucky that I stumbled across Caletas! My sister was just doing random research online, and sent me a few links ... Las Caletas was one of them. She's the best sister ever! lol
  18. my second dress was mainly for the heat - but Jamy and I were married in June (not to eachother, lol) - so it was probably much hotter, and humid! but hey, you never know if you might want to change ... can't hurt to bring it along!
  19. we didn't have a wedding party. but Paul asked that his dad and brothers (and his 1 best friend) wear khaki pants and a white shirt - basically who would have been the wedding party, had we had one. funny thing is, most every guy there wore that exact same thing ... so they all looked alike! this picture cracks me up ... this wasn't planned at all! if you look at the lower right, they're all dressed alike!

  21. since i couldn't have a rehearsal, we had a welcome dinner the night before. not necessary at all, but it was fun for everyone to meet eachother.

  23. oh, and by the way, it "costs" 50 points every time you open an attachment. if there's an attachment that you find useful - maybe save it to your local drive. so keep that in mind ... and if you need more points, just holler!
