yes! and i know there have been a few people that have complained and fought the point system - like thinking it wasn't fair. i don't know that it's a rule as much as it is respect for Tammy and the forum she has created for us, but the point system is there as a way to help her manage this forum and it's resources. we all have to remember that Tammy pays A LOT of money to manage and keep this forum running, and also puts in a lot of her time into this forum ... all for us, and out of the kindness of her heart ... she doesn't get paid a dime. so when she sees someone that fights the system that is in place, it's complete disrespect to her and not someone we probably want as a part of this group. ok, stepping off my box. -

The search isn't working for anyone actually, but the Advanced Search should work. If you go above and click on Search in the menu bar - another little menu should pop down. Then click on "Advanced Search" in the middle of that menu (not the bottom one, that's for Blogs). That should take you to another screen where you can enter all sorts of search criteria. Let me know if THAT doesn't work. -
I strongly suggest reading this ... PLEASE do! http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t13834

She sent me a list of questions and Will is all "Does she expect you to answer all of those?". I was like "I hope so because I have soooo much to say". LOL Love that place! Jamy isn't joking ... but then I can travel and bring the little one along. You may end up having more guests than you hoped for! Congrats on the decision - you won't regret it! Oh, Jamy, I've had like 5+ reference emails in the past couple of weeks. I've answered them all - but it's becoming a full time job! I refer all of them here too, but not sure any have showed up yet.

GRANDMA! i guess that generation has earned the right to say whatever they want. but that's still pretty bad! my mom did something similar to me the week I was visiting her and told her I was prego. I was wearing a tighter pair of jeans (that I THOUGHT looked ok!) and she said "well, you certainly won't be wearing those much longer" - yikes!

I think I was probably up about 7-10 lbs at my 12 week appt. But hell, that was Jan 4th - right after the holidays! Not fair. i can't believe that - you are still small. you talk like you're some huge whale, and you're not! but i also know how hard it is to adjust to a new size, whatever that size is. if you're not used to it - it's hard. i do have lots of doc appts for the diabetes. my doc there is seeing me once per month. plus he has me seeing a dietician/nutritionist (awful spelling, i know) pretty often too (annoying!). so i am definitely being monitored! i told paul i want him to gain weight ... i DO NOT want to pass him up, and i definitely could!

What is happening with the Advanced Search for those of you that say it's not working? -
the regular search doesn't work right now. you can use advanced search.

Yes, you can use your passport even if you change your SS card ... assuming your passport matches your ticket name.

how fun! when does the fun part come ... picking out all of the finishes, etc.!!?? Believe it or not, we already did all of the fun stuff! You have to do that before they begin construction. So that happened back in November. I can't wait to see it all come together!

Leigh, that is awesome - nice work! can you tell how your clothes are fitting? ~10 lbs is a lot!

"if i didnt' really know anyone else." we put "and guest" for most people, but that's also because most people that aren't married are at least dating someone serious. we actually usually just put their name. for the couple that weren't with someone, we didn't put "and guest" but we also knew that they were traveling with the huge group of friends, and that none of the guys were bringing their girlfriends. and then i also told these single guys on the side, if they wanted to bring a date, they were more than welcome to. this is asking people to take their vacation time to travel to another country (in my case) - i felt like they should at least be able to bring a date/friend!

Lately, I think we've all noticed a lot of questions/new threads being posted on things that have been answered/discussed at length on the forum already. While we understand that not everyone was around at the time the topic was discussed, this forum has some great search capabilities and is also organized quite logically. In order to avoid, or at least minimize, a lot of duplicate threads or repeatitive questions, please do your best to use the search function of the forum before posting a new thread. Not only will this help to keep resource usage down (storing many threads about the same topic) but it will help future brides and grooms when they have the same question - they won't have to weed through several threads on the same topic. Here are some helpful tips for searching ... 1) Search: In the main menu above, towards the right side, there is a option labeled, quite appropriately, "Search." >> If you click on this menu option, a sub-menu appears. >> From here you can either enter your search criteria, for example "sand ceremony," into the text field and press "Go" 2) Advanced Search: In the main menu above, towards the right side, there is a option labeled, quite appropriately, "Search." If you click on this menu option, a sub-menu appears (same as #1 above). Click on Advanced Search, which will take you to another screen where you can enter more criteria. >> You could enter the same text, as well as some additional criteria. >> If you know who posted something specific, you could enter their user id. >> Or if you knew a date range, or what sub-forum you want to search in, you could enter criteria for that as well. >> Also, you can choose to search only thread titles, as well as a few other options 3) Forum and Sub-Forums: Unlike some other forums, this one is actually categorized quite well. If you're looking for information on a wedding dress, or for restaurants in Puerto Vallarta, for example, you could easily navigate to the appropriate sub-forums. >> There are many ways to do this, but here's one I use. Get to the main screen by clicking on the "Best Destination Wedding Forum" breadcrumb in the upper left corner of your screen, just below the main menu bar (see below) >> From there, you can see all forums and sub-forums available. Simply look around and see what makes sense to what you're looking for! **Along the same lines, PLEASE be aware of where you're posting your new thread. I know it's not always obvious, but do your best to post your new threads in the appropriate forums or sub-forums. This will only help us maintain this forum and make it an even more useful tool for brides and grooms in the future! 4) Unread Posts: To see all posts that you haven't read since your last visit, simple click on the "Unread Posts" link in the upper right corner of your screen. I use this MANY times a day! 5) First Unread Post in a Thread: There are 2 ways to do this; once you have a thread open, you can jump to the first unread post in that thread by clicking the "View First Unread" link in the upper left corner of the thread. Or, you can click on the little down arrows immediately to the left of the thread name. -
