  3. Welcome, Nathanial! Please be sure to check these out, if you haven't already: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t921
  4. Katie - I hope your wedding day is everything you dreamed it would be, and more! Oh, and since Leigh Miller is also shooting your wedding, I REALLY can't wait to see these pics! Nic D will be there too ... you should really get some great shots!

Oatmeal I have a great baked oatmeal recipe made with apples and dried fruit. You can grab a square so it's like a muffin or heat it and serve with milk. PM me if you'd like it. You should post this recipe - I'd be interested! Can you post it? If not, I'll PM you with my email address.
  6. Oh Stephanie, I don't know what to say. I would love to hope for the best, and hope that maby this is a changed and reformed man. But I would be reacting the same way you are. I don't know what I would do in your shoes. At least you have you sister and you're not alone in this. I wonder if you could talk your mom into delaying the wedding, I mean, what's the rush? Is he pushing for the fast wedding? Please let me know if I can help at all.

Is this true or am I mistaken? honestly, i have no idea when the sun set - jamy (starchild) seems to have a much better idea of her surroundings than i did! but i know it wasn't an issue for us, and we got a late start (the boat was late w/the guests). have you seen my pics? we took all pics of us, as well as family pics after the ceremony.
  8. welcome! be sure to check out our vendor rules: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t921
  9. I agree, Stephanie - and I really try to make the title of my thread as clear as possible. Often times I run out of room in the title! Not only does it help when determining when to respond to a thread, but when you're doing a search, and you get a bunch of threads that pop up, it would help to know which thread best answered your question. Did that make sense? lol

  11. i'm not a huge breakfast eater either. well, i lke breakfast foods, but not right when i wake up. the pregnancy has changed that a little - i need to eat a little sooner after waking up now. anyway ...when at home i usually have cereal, oatmeal, yogurt, fruit, etc. i love the eggs, bacon, pancakes too - but we don't have a kitchen right now! lol and breakfast is one meal that's easier for me to eat healthier - so i try, especially now. i've been making this fruit (blueberries, raspberries, etc.), yogurt, and granola parait thing - yum! but not if you don't like yogurt! often i just add grape nuts or granola to yogurt - maybe taht would help? what about peanut butter toast? on the road i've been having a bagel w/cream cheese, OJ, fruit, etc.
  12. right - beyond what christine and tammy mentioned, points are really just for fun. i mean, look at all my point - what will i ever do with them? no idea! but i can guy gifts, have fun with my user name, title, etc. i can give them to people that need them, etc. and sometimes we have little contests where the prize is points.

  14. nope - never heard of the guy wearing makeup for a wedding.
  15. that's so exciting! when will you know more? YAY Amir!
  16. welcome! who is your sister - we have lots of LC brides on here!
  17. Welcome, Christina - I am so glad you decided to check this forum out - I can promise you you'll get lots of ideas (maybe too many!) and help. Just let us know how we can help - and happy planning! FYI - I have some links in my siggy, feel free to browse!
  18. Welcome! I too am a Caletas bride, but there are a lot of great options in PV. Do some searching around, and you're sure to get lots of great ideas. Also, remember that most resorts, as well as Las Caletas, have their own wedding coordinators so you don't have to hire an outside one. You certainly can, but you may not need to. Just thought I'd throw that out there!
  19. Welcome, Amanda! I'm just now seeing your post. I was married at Caletas in June, so just let us know if we can help at all. Also, I have links in my siggy if you're interested ... check 'em out! By any chance did you email me about Caletas? I know someone named Amanda did, so I thought I'd check!
  20. Have you tried searching for Buenaventura on the forum yet? I did, and got a few results that might help. http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t13834
  21. Oh wow - how cool is that! I'm interested in hearing more about it .... I hadn't thought of Nicole or Kelley heading there though, I wonder if one of them will.
  22. also, my budget (or "cost" is more appropriate) included everything ... the dress, the rings, the alterations, the honeymoon, etc. so it also depends on what people included in their budgets.

I wasn't overly into this forum at first, just because Caletas is kind of a unique location and I wasn't sure if I'd have some of the same questions, etc. But so glad I stuck around! And then I gave Nicole the link to the forum, and she referred a handful of brides here. Not sure she still does, but the group is definitely growing. YAY!
  24. Kelley has a little one too - probably over a year, or close to 2 by now. we'll figure out someone to watch them! lol
