  1. hey - the March theme was "all about you" - we asked for it! lol Don't be ashamed!
  2. I don't think it's lame at all - I think it's sweet. Proposals don't have to be "over the top" to be a great story - ours wasn't.
  3. or what about finding a longer one you like, and just getting it tailored to be the length you want.
  4. Even if you get your invites out before then, remember that if you pre-stamp the RSVP that those will also need the higher postage. Buy those "Forever Stamps" - what a great idea!
  5. just being an active member of the forum - and playing the lottery.
  6. I vaguely remember Christa trying it - and it took points away. But for all I know - she screwed up or something (sorry, Christa!). Or maybe she just told us that, and now she's been stealing points all along. Heck, give it a shot - let us know how it goes.
  7. some stayed just for the long weekend (Thurs - Sun, 3 nights) and some came for the week (7 nights) or longer, and everything in between!
  8. I think she was banned, so that could be why we can't find her posts - but I will do a little digging.
  9. i think he wore khaki pants and a white shirt - just like about 90% of the guys there! lol

  11. Can I ask how you felt that you were "bashed?"
  12. lol - if you insist, Lizzy! I'd love to be able to make it!
  13. of course, I can't! i will be in Naples visiting my dad. but you ladies go ahead ... but I'll be jealous!
  14. Just going to agree with most everyone on here. Most of us aren't here only for the information, we're here because of the friendships we've made. Hell, my wedding was over 6 months ago ... I'm certainly not here to learn how to make wedding invites! I'm here to visit and catch up with my BDW buddies. I enjoy seeing the siggys and personal info. on here. Also, in my siggy I have links to my wedding review, pics, and video - so for those that ARE looking for info., my siggy makes it quite easy. Double bouns. And you may not care, but I know there are others out there that want to see how far along I am in my pregnancy, hence that ticker. The truth of the matter is that there are lots of wonderful people and lots of great info on this forum (yay - us!) and I hate the idea that there is someone out there thinking we're a bunch of b*tches while I do agree with you, Kash (and love ya!), I think the response would have been much different had the questrion actually been asked instead of attacking the way this forum is run.
  15. to search within a thread ... 1) open the thread 2) at the top of this thread there is a link "Search this Thread" 3) from there it works like the regular search!
  16. Thanks, ladies! I love color - and am so sick of tan, neutral walls. I'll be sure to post a picture when it's all done.

But then I don't want to walk down the ailse carrying it, nor do I want my MOH to do that I could go without but would rather be able to touch up my makeup if need be. i did have one. not sure how it got from the bridal casita down to the reception - but i am sure nicole/kelley took care of it, that's how the rest of my stuff made it! then the rest of the evening it was either sitting on my table, or in a pile with the rest of my stuff. i never appointed anyone to it - but it was there!
  18. I don't know about the specific thread - but tell me more about it, and I can dig some more. Who started it? What was the title?

But it's all I know, really. And it does have perks - I mean, how many other people have over 500,000 miles on multiple airlines? But I've always said when I have kids, I dont want to do it, at least not at this rate. Luckily I can do what I do from home, for the most part.
  20. we definitley went bold with the color - so hopefully it turns out. we're waiting to see until it's all put together - and i can't wait! the granite people were out today to measure, so just a couple more weeks until they install. woohoo!
  21. We got all stainless steel appliances - so it should look pretty sharp. We hope!

I do like what I do - but it's a lifestyle I will be happy to give up once this baby arrives.
  23. Good to see you, Lizzy! That place looks beautiful - as does your Maggie! It all just looks so peaceful - and elegant at the same time!
  24. I had to link in these threads, just because I knew I had seen this before! I haven't read the other posts yet, so maybe someone has already done this! This is what I had posted (too lazy to type it again! lol) http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t8937 (I really like this one, just because you really get to see the details of what people do, and the good/bad about it) http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t6322 ------------------------------------ Job Title & Industry: "Senior Consultant" - It's so generic but it's what is on my business card, but I guess "Computer/Business Software Consultant" is a little better. Describe what you do in a few short sentences: When companies need help implementing, upgrading, merging, customizing, training, etc. ... or anything, their software (I work with PeopleSoft right now) I go in and help. What are the bests parts of your job? - the pay; it's good money - the flexibility; i'm very independant - hourly pay; if i work, i get paid - networking; i meet people all over the world - i like problem solving, and i do a lot of that - frequent flyer and hotel points! - my "standard" schedule is M-Th, i do my 40 hours in 4 days, then have Fridays off What are the worst part? - Consultants don't often get a lot of respect or thanks; people look at us like we're there to take their jobs, or tell them what to do - risk; if i am not working, i don't get paid - i've known people to now be able to find work for 6+ months - that means no paycheck! - travel; for 10+ years (except for the last few months!) i've worked out of state - i see a lot of airports and hotel rooms - lack of personal time; i often have to work crazy hours Do you think you are compensated appropriately? Yes - we get paid well mainly because of the travel and sacrifices we make and hours we work How much vacation time/time off do you get? no set amount - i can work as much or as little as i want; but if i don't work i don't get paid. like i am probably taking the rest of Sept off - maybe more, depending on the next project that comes along - but no paychecks! If you could do it all over again would you pick the same field/career? Probably. I complain a lot - but overall I like it and I get paid well. Are you limited to a particular region of the country or world? Nope, I am all over the place. What is your dream job (if all barriers were removed)? I wish I knew this answer!
