I'd want a separate agent to represent you in buying the house. I like the offer that Ann proposed. BEAUTIFUL house by the way!! well, the other way to look at this - you could/should negotiate her commission with her. if she's getting both sides, then she should be willing to take less. although you're not selling a currentl property, are you? but it could still work - if the realtor agrees to take less commission, the seller will pay less, and might be willing to take a lower offer.
  2. in the markets that i am familiar with (not yours!), i'd usually offer something like $245K or something, and expect to meet somewhere in the middle. but again, it depends on your market, and also the current condidtions, how long it's been on the market, etc.

  4. I'm sending an email to him to let him know that he's hurt his business by such a stupid act. Not saying who told me though - just letting him know "someone" knows!
  5. oh wow would I be pissed. i'd find his address and send a letter from a lawyer or something. so NOT cool.
  6. i would tend to agree with Alyssa. Is the announcement something that is really important to you? If not, maybe just skip it. If it's really important, I guess go forward but just give your FI a heads up and keep an eye out.
  7. Well, we've almost always lived in different states, so not on a regluar basis. Since we moved back to MN, my dad has come over to help with repair around the house so they'll hang out and do that. And golf - though given the timing and seasons, that hasn't happened a ton either! We'll see about this summer - it will either increase (since we now live here) or decrease, because of baby duties.
  8. what a sweet story, with a happy ending. well, happy for the man and his dog. you did the right thing!
  9. Welcome, Denise! Please be sure to read these if you haven't already: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t921
  10. yup - I was on the pill for 13+ years solid, and went off after the honeymoon (late June) and got pregnant in Oct., which was the first time we tried. i also had regular periods from June to Oct. and actually, i was never regular at all before the pill.
  11. It really depends on your budget, preferences, etc. - for us, photography was very important so we easily put over that $3500 into it, but we didn't have to. I do think photography is one of those things that you often get what you pay for - at least as a general rule. You can definitely get a photographer for less than $3500, but they may not be as high quality as someone you'd pay $5000+ and/or you may not get as much (hours, albums, etc.). You just have to decide what is right for you.

  13. I will probably send an email/PM out tonight, but please don't forget to send in your weights and pictures tomorrow - EVEN IF YOU HAD NO CHANGE! I am not trolling this thread for weights, it would be too confusing. I don't record the info. unless I get the weight with the picture! good luck everyone, it seems that everyone is doing great - even if you have a moment of weakness ... we ALL do!
  14. I'd be impressed if you could find a topic it DIDN'T cover! lol I went through and tried to clean it all up once, and delete a lot of chit chat - but was having computer issues that day. I'll get back to that soon ...
  15. Ditto - I wanted it to be the first time for everyone, including us. We didn't use our site visit, and Nicole said we could let someone else use it during the week. But we didn't want to do that, because we wanted people to be seeing LC for the first time at our wedding. Silly us!
  16. Ditto what Sarah said ... we were happy to organize the whole thing, but other than actually coming to people's houses to pick up and drop off the starfish and journal, we couldn't figure out a way to get people to be responsible. Don't get me wrong, there were some brides that were very considerate and took care of the starfish and journal, and passed it along just as they agreed to do, most actually were able to do this successfully. But the few that weren't able to live up to their end of the bargain unfortunately ruined a fabulous tradition for the rest of us. So we've been trying to come up with a way to continue this tradition, because we really do love the idea of it, without having to constantly harass brides to do what they signed up to do in the first place! I'm sorry if I sound a little bitter, but it's just that there's been so much work put into this, especially by Courtney and Shelley, and they've been taken advantage of and in some cases, treated with disrespect, IMHO. Ok, not sure where that came from ... but I'm done ranting! So, in summary, pass on your cherished starfish at your own risk!
  17. great - now i am craving a Shamrock Shake. Mmmmmmm ... HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JULIE!
  18. not that it matters - but i went to the gym too thsi weekend, both Fri. and Sat. ... and then played a lot of active Wii on Sun., which is almost like going to the gym! lol We went to register for baby stuff at Target, and ended up with a Wii. Oh well, parents need to have fun too.
  19. the Las Caletas thread ... here it is! http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t1775

    Hello

Welcome! Well, I am a little baised, but my vote would be for Caletas - I was married there this past June. But I also know nothing about Playa Fiesta ... so my opinion is a bit one-sided. Take a look at some of the links in my siggy ... and let us know if we can help you with your decision!
  23. FYI - I heard rice was bad - the birds can choke on it.
