I'm considered having my wedding at the Thousand Waves in Maui - it's a private estate... anyone have feedback on events or stays here? I would appreciate any information you can send over! Thanks!!

Hi Everyone! I'm in the process of selecting a venue for my ceremony & reception in Maui Fall '07, we're expecting around 50 guests. I have a vision of a classic/ elegant wedding. We're looking at ritz-carlton, 4S, hyatt and westin. Also, I'm not interested in incorporating any Hawaiian traditions into the wedding (no offense at all! It's just not my culture & I think a wedding should be reflective of the couple). I'm seeing a lot of packaged offerings that aren't matching up with my vision. Again I don't mean to be offensive, but they seem tacky & "canned". Can you offer your opinions of these resorts? As well as general advice? Thanks!

Thanks everyone!! I know the flight time is going to be tough. But I think it will be worth it So far in my research, I'm seeing a lot of cheesy options... I'm basically looking to have a classic wedding set in Hawaii. I know I'll get there, just takes time.
