  1. Wish me luck. I fought this one tooth and nail but totally lost. I didn't want a bridal shower at all 1. because I get anxiety about this kind of stuff I don't feel very comfortable being the center of attention. and 2. I just felt bad that people were spending all this money to come to our DW and than to have them spend more on bridal gifts just makes me feel bad. Nevertheless my friends and family insisted that either I comply with their wishes to have a bridal shower and I be let in on everything or I could refuse a bridal shower and they would surprise me with one anyways. Well I hate surprises so I decided to be "OK" with the bridal shower thing. Alright so here we are the big day and I'm so nervous!
  2. Alyssa, that is horible. Its so sad to think how fast life can end. I think about that stuf all the time, why is it that some people live these wonderful healthy lives and others are terminally sick at all ages and sufer through their short time here. It makes me so sad, its not fair at all, I will be thinking of you and your family.
  3. Have a great time, we cant wait to hear all about it.

I've allready bubble wrapped everything up so tight that I will have to wait until we come home to post all that stuff. I was thinking I'd take a few pics once I unwrapped everything at Dreams. I just cant wait for your wedding!!!! I wish I would be there to peak through the bushes or palm trees I guess lol!
  5. just to add a little. The size of the beers in the fridge at Dreams Cabo are much smaller than normal. Hmm maybe like a 8 or 10 ounce as opposed to the normal 12 ounce bottle. Honestly and this is going to sound horible but I'm a pretty big drinker (please dont get me wrong I'm not sloushed all the time) but I drink a couple every weeknight and more than enough on the weekends. If there was anyone that would be upset at the quantity of beer in their room it would be me. BUT at Dreams there is so much to drink so often that by the time you are in your room the few beers in the fridge are just fine. And if you call room service and order dinner they will bring you more beer if you ask. Also if you tip the housekeepers well they always keep you fridge stocked with a few cold ones. Hope that helped.
  6. Ok I'm jumping on this band wagon in hopes it will keep me motivated. I've been working out more then ever the past couple of months. Tomorrow marks the 4 week date until we leave for Boston and then for Mexico the next day. So starting tomorrow I vow to do strength training and run 4 times per week and to give up pizza on the weekends 4 weekends wont kill me right? So to answer the question yes I worked out today, I did a small run 1.5 miles and did my fluidity i.e. strength training for 40 minutes. tomorrow I will do my fluidity again in the morning and jog 3 miles after work.
  7. AWW congratulations how exciting. No baby stories, lets se me and my 2 sisters were all late I was a month over due and my two sisters were two weeks over due and we were all big heffers I was the biggest weighing in at over 10 pounds! 8. Courtney you must be so excited. I'm so excited for you, everything you have bought or made for the wedding looks so nicely together. You are going to have one beautiful wedding! I can hardly wait to hear all about it, hurry up allready and go!
  9. Great review and the pictures of DIY stuff is so helpful. I love the picture of the two of you sitting and looking at eachother. You looked gorgeous, congratulations!
  10. Heidi your pictures are beautiful. The two of you look so in love and happy.
  11. I was so perplexed when my photographer (who we met during a site visit) looked at me and said "this color is not good you need to stay out of the sun before the wedding". WTF? I wasnt burnt at all just a nice tan, i didnt get it and I definitly will not be hideing in the resort hotel room for the 3 days before the wedding. Yah right. Ofcourse I told him I would but HELLO vacation=pool and beach and cocktails buddy!
  12. She must be a very sensitive person I guess because that review was not bad at all.
  13. How sad, she is for sure in my prayers.

Mike loves the Christmas Tree Shop so I thought for sure that would be our first stop, but he said, "let's go drive by the beach first." This should have been my first clue, but I didn't catch on. We drove by one of the places we are considering for our reception and stopped at the beach at the end of the road (Surf Drive beach, Jackie). It isn't the most beautiful beach on the Cape, but it was a beautiful day and there actually weren't that many people. We got out of the car and sat down on a small wall and just chit-chatted for a few minutes. That's my story! I hope it makes sense. I don't have a good picture of the ring yet, but it looks just like the one in my avatar. It was custom made and EXACTLY what I wanted!! Oh Kate thats a great beach, right of shore drive right? I live in Mashpee right next to New Seabury the raw bar Mashpee Commons area if your familar. What a beautiful day to get engaged!!! Ryan and I went out to dinner in woods hole wear we had our first date and then he took me to Old Silver beach it was cold and rainy but I didnt care. If you need any help at all please let me know. I dont know how familir you are with Cape Cod weddings but I have been to to many to count at this point and definitly could help you "review" wise. I dont think you could pick a location that If I at least havent been to a wedding there I know someone who has that can give a decent opinion. One of my two favorite places for cape cod weddings is (same owner) either the Flying Bridge in Falmouth or the Connameset in Falmouth. Both are beautiful. The Flying Bridge is right on the water and the Connameset has a more antique barn feel to it. They both offer the same food choices and let me tell you hands down their food is the best out of any other venu on Cape that I have been to for a wedding. They have whats called "stations" no its not a buffet but just food stations throughout the reception area. A raw bar which is fabulous, a prime rib station, a pasta station, a salad station, etc. They never run out of food and it is to die for. I believe there is valet parking at both places too. Both places are very close to hotels. I stayed overnight at the Coonameset once with the bride-to-be the night before her wedding and they totally pampered her the next day while she was getting ready. Anyways if you need anything let me know I'd be happy to help! Heres a link to their website. CapeCodRestaurants.Org :: Home Page :: Cape Cod Restaurants, Wedding and Events Hosting and Planning

Good point Jill lol.

I know we will have a dinner on Thursday night, but I am wondering if you all think we should do it in town or at the hotel? Also, Should I do something Wednesday evening as well? Maybe this could be a welcome dinner? I am throwing this out there for some suggestions. I don't want to over plan but I certainly would love to get people together while we are there. What do you think? Kelley We are doing a welcome sunset cruise on Sunday night and getting married that Tuesday night. Just my opinion but I would say stick with one. You dont want to overplan everyones trip ya know. You want your guests to feel like they are on their own mini vacation to. Thats at least why we only planned the two activities for our guests anyways, the wedding day and the cruise night.
  18. Its so hard to see a close friend go through a loss like that. It also brings to mind that lives are truly precious and our loved ones are not going to be around forever either. When my father died I couldnt be alone. I didnt realize it at the time but I just kept busy busy busy for about a month or two always surrounding myself with people so that I wouldnt be able to really sit down and deal with my fealings. When I finally was alone I think I cried uncontrollably for a good few hours. Your friend really needs you right now weather she even notices it or not. Even if she seems fine make sure you keep in contact even more often then normal, even if its to chit-chat about everything but her loosing her dad. I hope you feel better soon.
  19. Wow Tammy you must be so proud of yourself. That has got to be one of the hardest jobs. I couldnt imagine fostering a dog that I fel in love with and having to give them up. OHHHHH I'm so sorry
  20. Congratulations Kate! What beach was it? We got engaged at my favorite beach in North Falmouth "old silver". What town are your parents from? Thats great though congratulations!!!!!!
  21. Update. Mariana e-mailed me back and said that no she wouldnt recomend it for us. She said that she usually recomends them for weddings with 40 or more guests. If we did want the mic system it would be $200.00. Honestly we are doing any readings ect and are keeping the ceremony as short as you can possibly get it so I think we will go without the mic system.
  22. Oh Tammy Elsie is so cute, no wonder you dont want to give her up. And congrats to your other guy on the stairs thing!
