Ann, this idea is good. Look into having your welcome dinner at the resort. If you choose and AI. It could save you some major money. There are some really great resorts to chose from that are AI in the PV area. Your meals and drinks are paid for in advance and usually (in my opinion) at a lower rate $$ wise than you would pay if you were to pay for every single drink and meal every day. I would much rather pay for this in advance and not have to worry about budgeting enough money for food and drink. The majority of our guests do like to enjoy their food and drinks though so this may differ from your needs.
  5. Ann, I voted 15 - 20 k. But this includes my honeymoon wich is around 4000.00 itself. And I also have to pay for my sisters travel expenses witch will be another 3000.00 or so. So without those two added on expenses I am under 15 k. At the end of the day though, it would cost us (to have a classy wedding) at least 25000.00 if not more to have a wedding on Cape Cod, and this is without the honeymoon. With the Destination wedding for 20 k. We are getting 3 weeks in Mexico (including site visit) and a week long wedding celebration to boot. I cant believe more people dont go this route. To me there is not even a choice in the matter...I'd pick DW any day over an overly expansive few hours at home wedding.
  6. It does seem to have a small beach. But it does look like such a pretty resort to have a wedding at.

  12. Wow you are quick!!! OK give me a couple of weeks and I'm sure I will be in the baking spirit and ready to swap recipes. I cant cook but I love baking. That pumpkin Cream Cheese pie sounds delicious.
  13. Buetiful dress, Sarah (Aqharider) is right, now we cant wait to see you in it.
  14. I like #3 but I'm not sure what your wedding colors are and that could swade me other wise.
  15. Christa, you look great! And um not bloated by the way. Vera Wang makes the nicest dresses. She would be my first choice for a wedding dress designer, but Ryans sister wore her at her wedding and now I feel like I cant. But that dress is to die for. You must be so excited you bought it and love it.
  16. This photographer pops up everywhere I try and research, rave reviews from what I have read so far. She is in the Riviera Maya Cancun area. Seems to be the photog to book in that area, as far as popularity goes. http://www.claudiaphoto.com/weddings.php
  17. Thanks Jill, Where in Mass do you live? I'm down on Cape Cod right over the bridge in Falmouth. I love looking for reveiws etc so if you need any help or are having trouble finding something feel free to let me know and I'll give it a shot. It gives me an exscuse to stop cleanning or studying. lol.

Hopefully everything turns out ok, but most people do not read reviews like us crazy brides to be. You can try and warn off people as much as you want but if they feel like they are getting this great deal it makes it pretty hard to persuade them otherwise. I would much prefer to get a good deal and actually be able to trust that I am going to get to my destination then get a great deal and end up not getting my flight or have to change hotels. Not such a great deal when that happens.

  21. Thanks Sarah, There is actually a really cool looking church that they can do Catholic weddings at. I cant figure out how I feel about a "Park" wedding, I'm a gazebo girl myself but figured I'd throw the idea out there.
