Welcome, if you need any help picking a resort/venue let me know. There are so many great resorts to choose from in the Cancun area. There is a lot of info on this forum describing some of the resorts also.

List Of Photographers In The Rm/cancun Area
Jackie replied to Jackie's topic in Riviera Maya and Cancun Wedding Vendors
Update for any and all that are interested in Sol Tomargo. last week when I e-mailed her she said she was booked for My wedding dates but she just e-mailed me again saying that she was confused and thought I was inquiring about 2007. She has not started to book yet for 2008, incase any of you were aprehensive about getting in touch with her because she was booked. Just thought I would clear that up. -
Yah, I dont think we will be doing favors either. But a possible idea is donating x amount of dollars per guest to a good charity and then making up some type of card that says "in leu of favors we have chosen to donate to so and so". Or something like that. The cards wouldnt be hard to carry over to Cabo either. I was thinking about maybe doing this with one.org but I'm not sure. I was in a wedding where they did this and I thought it was really thoughtfull.

Janet.. Congrats, you look buetiful. Have fun on your honeymoon. Yeah!!!!

This is why we wanted a big resort for our location. We cant control what happens at the actual reception, but at least there is enough room for everybody to be spread out the rest of the week. I couldnt imagine spending a week worrying about the older guests being offended or regretting the vacation.

I am so excited about it. I was starting to think I was going to have to pay outrageous prices to get a decent photographer into the Riviera Maya. Which I totally can not afford to do. -

I still regularly check her blog and when I saw april and nate's photos, I couldn't help but feel a slight bit of regret for not booking her. Her package must have changed, because when I was planning to use her she did include more in her DW package. I think that she actually may have sent you her local pricing, rather than her DW pricing so just in case i will post her DW package below this may or may not help you make a decision. For us, photography was at the top of our list and we felt more comfortable hiring someone from here that we could contact before and after the fact with ease. But as evidenced by the work on this forum, there are some phenomenal photographers in Mexico. Thanks that does help. Yup photography is at the top of my list. And I think I might have found someone that I think is good enough and in my price range. Shes local, so no traveling fees. That was the killer for me. -

How exciting. I might have to change my damn resort (Occidental Grand Xcaret) if these people dont get back to me. So Agravating. I'm going to give them a call if I dont hear from them soon. Yeah, I cant wait to hear all about the El Dorado!!!! I'm so excited for you. -
Girls, I would be going nutz if I were you. I find it so odd that people wait till the last minute. I have never ever booked a vacation last minute. I cant stand last minute. Heck I dont even like making dinner reservations last minute. What happens if there is no room at the resort when they go to book or no flights left on the day they wanted to arrive? I dont get it. Bad Bad guests!

Welcome and good luck with your planning.

I think I found my photographer!!!! I e-mailed Elizabeth Madina, who does great work and is local. (no traveling fees!) She got back to me within hours. She misread my e-mail and thought I said May 2007 (I"m getting married in May of 2008. Here is what she sent: Hi Jackie, Thanks for your interest in my work and your kind words. Congratulations on the wedding! I do currently have available dates in April/May 2007 and would be very happy to photograph your wedding in the Riviera Maya. I really like your idea of taking some pictures in town as well, that would be really fun! I am attaching pricing info. If you would like to split the 8 hour coverage in two portions to do some photography the next day that would be fine. Please note that all my packages include the full set of 4x6 proofs (unmarked) as well as the full set of digital negatives, so you can print your photographs as you like, I also offer the option of fine art prints and beautiful flush mount albums as well. All expenses are included in the package and I do all the photography personally (I don´t send alternate photographers). The packages also include web galleries and web slideshows so you can share the photographs with your friends and family. Thanks and best wishes! Elizabeth Her package are really reasonable price wise, and include a lot. The file is to big to attach here. But I can always e-mail it to any RM/Cancun brides that are interested. Or maybe Tammy will see this and have some advice as to how to get it on here if possible. Here is Elizabeth's website: www.elizabethmedina.com -

I know what you mean, I am not a big coral fan but for some reason I just think it would be a great color for Mexico.

thanks girls!!!!

I'm not sure if there is a thread of this anywhere, but I'm interested too hear what all you gals have chosen or had for your wedding colors. I'm undecided and looking for good color scheme ideas. I'm leanning towards a very strong/vibrant coral with some browns and ivorys....but am not sure.
