Question for all of you dreams brides
Jackie replied to *JillD*'s topic in General Wedding Planning Information
Great question Jill, not that I have an anwser for it, but I was thinking the same exact thing when I was looking at my resorts wedding packages. I have no clue wich one to pick. Also, is it possible to NOT pick any package and just customize you very own from scratch? Very confusing, I'm eager to see what the Dreams brides have to say about this. -
Hello and welcome, Yes there is a ton of helpfull brides on this forum. Under the Riviera Maya/Cancun threads you will find Accomadations. There are so many great resorts in this area to choose from. Tell us a little bit more about what is important to you in your resort and we can probably help you narrow it down a bit more.

Ok, thanks Tammy I think I fixed it. It should work now.

Great review Natasha. The dancers looked like so much fun from the photos and the fire dancers looked amazing! You had so much to review, no wonder it took you so long. hehe.

The Riu resorts acomadate all sorts of weddings. I am almost positive that you can have a beach wedding. Although it will probably not be a private beach but from what I have read and heard most resorts do try and make the area you are being wed at as private as possible. There are a few Riu brides around here mostly Cabo though. In the tool bar under search type in Riu and you are bound to get a lot of helpfull information. In order to get married on a private beach, you may have to either not do All Inclusive, or leave the all inlcusive resort and have the wedding ceremony at a different location. This can get confusing and be sort of a pain for your guests but it can be done. I have not looked to much into this so I dont have that much information. Ann can probably help you more. Here is a link to a wedding slideshow of a bride and groom at the El Dorado Royale. This resort is not known for its great beach, but it can give you an idea of what an All Inclusive adults only beach wedding might be like. It is not a "private" beach but you can see that they do a good job at sort of sectioning off the wedding area! Turn the volume up also, the music is buetifull. Hello and welcome! Ann is right, just start asking questions and looking around, eventually you will start narrowing down your possibilities. Good luck.

A fun idea for your spare change...
Jackie replied to JENGONDA9's topic in General Wedding Planning Information
Definitly, I think as a general rule everyones change should be saved towards their next vacation. -

I really think us brides are so brainwashed to spend so much money on overkill items for a wedding that it's no wonder a wedding in the states cost 40K and up!!!! Cabo love, Rosa Rosa, you are going to fit in on this forum just great. Pretty much all of the brides around here are of the same mind frame. If you look at all the wedding pictures and reviews in here the weddings are usually a fraction of the cost of a US wedding and in my opinion 10 times more gorgeous and meaningfull. There are so many posts and threads around here (ecspecially for cabo) to do things to make you wedding look elegant and buetifull without spending a gazillion dollars.

Meahgan's Wedding & Dreams Resort Review
Jackie replied to MEAHGAN's topic in Destination Wedding Reviews
Great review. Its so nice to read these when you are planning a wedding at the same resort. Ofcourse I'm not but, this is exactly what I would want a review at my wedding resort to be like. Good job on the details. Sounds like everything turned out wonderfull! -
Natasha, wow that looks like such a fun reception to be at. It looked like there wasnt a dull moment all night. And yes I agree with Tammy, you are one hot chica. You both looked radient. I cant wait to see more!

She doesn't deserve to be apart of it, she only earns the right to watch the wedding. I know this sounds harsh, but the way she is acting and treating me is totally uncalled for... Hey Tammy, I know Ive been saying this all along but I thought I should put my two cents in one more time. I know its hard to not go off on her and you are doing a very good job of it so far. BUT, make sure you dont blow up on her. The minute you stoop to her level is the minute you lose all credibility as the "mature adult" in the situation even if you have been up until that point. Keep holding your ground and keep being the bigger person. Your doing a great job so far. I know you can do it!!!!

Rebbeca & Mark photo slideshow
Jackie replied to JUANCARLOST's topic in Post your Destination Wedding & Engagement Pictures!
Rebecca, your slideshow is buetifull. I would have to say my favorite pics were definitly the one with you resting you head on Hubbys shoulder. Awwww. And the ones with the two of you alone at the gazebo with the sun setting in the background. How sweet! -
Welcome and Congratulations!

I agree... let her sit in the bedroom. I will have nothing to do with drama seeking poor me individuals. And this is very clearly what she is doing. At this point she probably knows how wrong she is and is trying to devert the blame and instead focus everyones attention on pittying her. Nope, dont let her. This is not about poor FMIL. Dont feel bad. Show her that that tactic isnt going to work!

Thats really buetiful Ali, He must have been so surprised.

Xcaret Ecological Park Wedding
Jackie replied to Jackie's topic in Riviera Maya and Cancun Accommodations & Site
Yah, it wouldnt send it through for me either. I found this on their site. Maybe you could try calling this number and having them transfer you to the Wedding personal of the park. And have them send you any wedding information at the same time. 2. Do you have special wedding brochures? We have brochures available at Xcaret Park . If you would like for us to send them to you, we suggest that you get in touch with the Special Events Department at (984) 871 5200, ext. 385. As I read further on the facts page, it seems like this Special Events number handles numerous wedding related stuff. I would try giving them a call. -

How can adults do such horrible things to their children? I'll never understand it...It's amazing my brother turned out to be such a great guy with such shi*ty teen years. This was 8 years ago, sorry- every once in a while I just have to vent it out! This is unfortunatly the sad part, this stuff stays with you forever. Usually either one of two things happen. You either take the negative situation in your life, learn from it and produce positive outcomes or you can stay in the negative and spiral further downwards. Looks like your brother made some good choices. Quote: Originally Posted by TOESNTHESND After reading this thread, I just had to share it with my FI. I know it will be hard for him but you guys inspired him thanks!! We are also going to limit eating out to once a week. That is going to be real tough! I havent cut the starbucks and DD's out completly but I have definitly cut back to just a couple days a week. I was drinking like 2 large lattes or ice coffees a day. You guys are going to save soooo much money. Those things really add up. Thats such a good idea to actually put the money you would have spent in a jar to. I will officially do that also now. Good idea! -
I'm not sure either. If I end up buying a designer dress than yes, I will defintily try to sell it. But as of now, this is not in our budget. If I end up getting a dress for a decent price than I might possibly do some fun pictures that might damage the dress and then therefor I wouldnt be able to sell it. I do know that either way I probably wont keep it. I'm just not extremely sentimental when it comes to that stuff. So I dont see the need for it to add to the cluter in my house.

Tammy, I'm so sorry. I hate any type of negative confrontations and that feeling in the pit of your stomach is the absolute worse. Try and sit back and relax for awhile. Really think about how you want to deal with this. You basically have 2 choices. 1. Apoligize for the way you have made her feel, play nice, and bite your tougne for the next 2 months. 2. What I said earlier. Stand up to her, WITH CAIN THERE, in a very respectfull mannor and just simply say that how you are feeling is not healthy and your privacey your home and your relationship with Cain needs to be respected. If you do chose to say something, then I really do feel like Cain needs to be there. This way he is not getting second hand information from the two of you.
